I recently contacted this company to get an estimate for installing a new steam boiler, but from the start, they seemed more interested in making a sale than providing me with accurate information.
When I called, the representative immediately presented me with two options: either pay $149 upfront for a one-year package or shell out $300 for them to come out and give me a quote. I clarified that all I wanted was an estimate, as I'm planning to get three quotes from different companies anyway. The rep insisted that this was a service call, claiming it's how their technicians are billed.
I pointed out that paying $149 for a package I might not end up using doesn't make sense, and I definitely wouldn't pay $300 just for a quote. As a homeowner, I have the right to get multiple quotes without being sold something on the spot. It seems to me that this company's approach is unprofessional and more focused on making a quick buck.
I've already spoken with two other companies that are willing to provide free estimates, so it's clear they're not trying to be as aggressive as this one. I'm disappointed in the way I was treated and wouldn't recommend this company to others.
