I'm. In. Love. Seen this place like forever but JUST went I for the first time. Once you talk to an assistant, you realize it's a family there. These people actually LOVE and CARE for these plants. They have immense knowledge about what your best choices might be - you just ask! The entire center feels like an oasis. I literally want to live there.

I needed to replace some existing rocks in front of my house and came up short shopping at landscaping stores in the city. Lindy was phenomenal over the phone helping me figure out what type of rock and the amount needed. They gave me a 4 hour delivery window and called when they were 45 minutes out. The type of rock, amount and delivery were perfection! I highly recommend Lurvey!

LOVE it here, even if I’m not buying anything (rarely!). It soothes my soul; healthy plants, reasonable prices and great garden tools, decor, etc. Friendly helpful staff!

Large selection, I came in a rush so didn’t get to see all that they have, but definitely thinking to come back when I redo our gardens. I bought a milkweed plant and the lady at the info center was extremely helpful. They had 25% off a lot of items for end of summer sale.

They have a great selection of annuals, perennials and shrubs. The quality of the plants is outstanding. Kinda bummed they did away with the frequent buyers club for money off on future purchases without warning.

This review is for Lurvey's landscape design department and designer John Strait. The need for this service brought me to Lurvey. The center is beautiful inside out. John was very thorough with obtaining info of my garden to prepare before our meeting. He listens & patiently modified the landscape outline to accommodate my ideal plants while keeping the goal of addressing the standing water issue in mind. Efficient meeting time allotted. Peaceful meeting room. John is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

I love this place so much. Too much! I spend way too much money here. But I love the selection of plants and flowers and seeds and tools. Today I went in for some specific help in my spring gardening. I talked to Paul at Plant health. He was so wise and helpful. It’s great to work with knowledgeable service people who are very willing to assist. fingers crossed to a successful spring of growth in my garden!

Have been a long time customer of Lurvey's for years. Belonged to their pond club for years as well. Since they have remodeled its even nicer for gardeners to visit. They have a great selection of flowers, shrubs, trees, lawn furniture, soil amendments, decorations for the yard, plus more. Today I came to buy a bird bath and the selection was good. I couldn't make up my mind and felt like I was buying a car, but I did buy a beautiful one. Hope the birds appreciate it.
The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Parking is plentiful but on special occasions I'd advise you to get there early. Its beautiful in the store and there's always something you will buy.

Lurveys is the best for all plant needs. They have a great array of varieties from teeny tiny ground covers to large trees. Their prices are a little higher than I was expecting to pay, but the quality of their merch is beyond reproach. Everything I bought has been planted in my various gardens and all is doing well. Thank you for such a reliable supplier.

Lurvey has a wide selection, the plants are healthy, and you’ll get nearly everything you need as a beginner to gardening or indoor houseplant care. Staff members are extremely helpful, going out of their way to assist and answer questions. As a wheelchair user, I found most of the store accessible, but I didn’t venture much outside, so I can’t speak to it with great detail. The only thing I wish was different was more labelling. To the proprietors, it would be lovely for customers to see detailed plant identification with plant care information. I came prepared with research, but I’m not a botanist, and even staff had some trouble locating plants. A bit of signage, databases, and such go a long way. Nonetheless, we will definitely return.

Lots of plants to choose from even this late in the season. Large garden center seldom seen in the NW suburbs. Got the Tuesday senior discount of 10%. Very good customer assistance. Couldn’t ask for better.

My younger brother passed away in a motorcycle accident recently and gifted his organs to save others. My father went down the street from Lutheran general hospital because that is where my little brother was born and where he took his last breath. Even though my father lives in Wisconsin he wanted to get a memorial fountain close to the hospital to where my brother came into this world and to where he left this world. Tom the manager helped my father pick out a beautiful fountain in tribute to my brother. The next day when my father went to pay for the fountain he was informed that the store would be donating the fountain in his honor. This kind gesture gave my dad comfort knowing that there is still good in this world and people do care. Thank you so much lurvey garden center family!!! I will attach a picture below of Christian’s fountain now installed in my fathers backyard patio.

We purchased 2 9’ White Pine trees from Lurvey’s. The selection and ordering with Tom was so easy! They were able to move the trees from their Volo location to Des Plaines for me to examine and approve! They arrived and they looked fantastic. Very full all the way to the ground and very healthy. The trunks were really surprising huge!! As was the root ball, which really helps a tree to handle the stress of planting. The arrangements for delivery and installation were handled by an outside landscape firm who arrived at the appointment time for the position marking and discussion. He really understood the whole tree planting process! We determined the exact place for the trees. The installers were great to work with. The trees looked even bigger on the truck, seeing them in person and not in the Lurvey’s large yard. They took as best care as they possibly do to get these huge trees into my very crowded yard, into place and planted, with as little damage as possible to the gardens, no easy task! One was installed on a slope by an existing, new fence in a narrow side yard! They really had to carfully lift and adjust the tree to get it into the ground. They had to take the very long way around the house for that one so they would not break off low branches of a birch tree that was in the short path. They planted quickly and were great to work with. Even with adjustments that had to be made once the digging started, moving the position a foot or so this way or that. One tree even had a bird nest in it, which we kept in place as it is good luck! The trees are settling in great and took off on their normal Spring growth. I must say that the quality and size and the trees and the smooth installation process, we feel we have quality trees that are set to take root and grow and well worth the cost. It is so great to look our windows and see these dense, beautiful pines and can’t wait for the resident cardinals to select one next year for their home. Thanks, Lurvey’s!!

On the search for a dogwood, staff informative an helpful. Took the time to get us what we needed. As a real estate advisor, I would recommend to my clients.

Went here to get plants/flowers for our patio and was not disappointed! This place is huge with a big indoor and outdoor area for plants. It also has a lot of plants to pick from and they seem to be well taken care of. If you're planning on going on a weekend it's now their busy season so parking may be difficult.

Went here after having trouble finding zinnias at other garden centers. Very nice, prices not too bad, $24 a flat. Very healthy plants.

It is one of the largest, best run, best staffed, nurseries in the state! Employees are knowledgeable, respectful, helpful, friendly...from Jose out in the yard, Tom in inventory, Mike in pots, Jackson in sales...all of them went above and beyond to make my experience a pleasant perfect one.

I recommend the nursery for its vast selection of plants, lawn furniture, and other garden knick knacks like pots, fountains, patio furniture...the list is endless, but more importantly for the thorough friendly helpful knowledgeable assistance you receive, 100% of time, thank you all keep up the great job!!!

By the way my (3)snowcap lilac trees look amazing in my front lawn, the garden benches , as well as the amazing pots!!

The staff was really nice. I was setting up a freshwater fish tank, and they helped me find some beautiful and safe rocks for the fish tank. They also made me a good deal on a decoration driftwood that was not even for sale. 6 months later, my fish are still living!First rate experience!

Great atmosphere, very inviting. Well knowledgeable staff & friendly. Reasonable prices. Would drive out of my way to come here, for my garden needs & wants!
