Top Carpet Cleaning

We had a flooding issue in our basement in Downers Grove last December, not like standing water but enough that the carpet down there got soaked for a couple days before we even noticed because we don't go down there much in winter. the smell hit us eventually though, like this damp mildew thing that started creeping up to the first floor. tried airing it out with fans and a dehumidifier for a week and it barely helped. called Top Carpet Cleaning because at that point i was ready to just rip the carpet out entirely. they came and did a deep extraction on it, some kind of antimicrobial treatment too i think. im not gonna pretend i understood all the technical stuff but the smell was gone within a day. that was like four months ago now and it hasnt come back even during the humid summer weeks. the carpet doesnt feel crunchy anymore either which was another thing that was grossing me out. saved us probably a couple thousand compared to replacing the whole basement carpet

called to get a quote and they were quick about it no back and forth. the guys who came out were on time and got right to work o the carpets. didnt have to babysit them or anything they just handled it. results were really solid especially on the stairs which ge the most abuse. would call them again

I called to ask about getting our living room carpet and a couple area rugs cleaned. The person on the phone was helpful and gave me a clear price without any pressure to add on extra stuff. They had availability within a few days which worked out well since we were trying to get it done before having people over for the holidays. The technician arrived on time and spent a few minutes looking at the carpet before getting started. He asked about a couple stains and whether we knew what caused them, then picked his approach accordingly. I liked that he didn't just treat everything the same. The rugs came out really well - one of them is a darker pattern so stains never showed much, but you could tell by how the fibers looked afterward that a lot of dirt had been pulled out. The carpet in the living room took longer to dry, but it looked great once it was fully set. Fair pricing for what was done.
