During this week's downpour in the North Shore , our tile drain system gave out completely, dumping about 5 inches of gross standing water into the basement and turning the whole space into a swampy mess. Panicking about health hazards and potential mold, I Googled local help and found Emergency Water Removal & Damage Restoration, they picked up my frantic call at dawn and dispatched a team within the hour The lead technician was outstanding: patient, super knowledgeable, and took time to explain that this was Category 3 contamination (grossly contaminated, same risk level as sewage backups) due to the sewage bacteria from the failed drain, so we needed full biohazard precautions and mitigation . He outlined a safe removal plan clearly, showing us moisture readings and why certain materials had to go. They extracted everything swiftly with heavy-duty gear, sanitized thoroughly, ran dehumidifiers non-stop, and documented every detail (photos, notes, measurements) that made our insurance process seamless. Pricing felt honest, no pressure add-ons, and the basement ended up drier and fresher than before the flood. 10 out of 10 experience, they helped me out when I had a overflow in my second toilet that leaked down into my living room at my house in Wilmette.
They did the reconstruction shortly after and it’s like it never even happened! I’ll be right back
