Appliance Repair reviews in Oak Brook, Illinois

The technician has left us with no air conditioning for two weeks because he never turned in the paperwork stating that our current unit couldn't be replaced. And the Sears warranty department has failed to follow up to get that information from the technician in order for authorization for the replacement. Total incompetence.

Disrespectful to my wife (and I'm guessing all women), treated her like a child and acted like everything she said was incorrect. Even when she said that he can't park in our neighbor Barb's spot, he acted like wife was stupid, laughed and said he was allowed to park there for 1 hour. We were hoping he got towed but then he'd be stuck here... oven fixed for $500 but a new oven costs $600. Just buy new.

Did not review any appliance…nor do I want to…was not satisfied with sears services

Horrible service. Scheduled a cleaning of a washer/dryer. Nothing was done except vacuum the lint trap, tech was there less than half hour. Never cleaned the rubber boot on washer, empty the catch or clean the catch nor was the dryer motor ever cleaned as advertised on the website. For almost $200, i went back over his work n did a better job. Called customer service for a refund but they ended up pushing the whole cost through. Then changed their customer service line to all online chats that led me in circles with no answers; even having to sign up n pay for online communication service "just answers". Ridiculous. I would NEVER recommend sears home services in southwest wi area to anyone. Awful deserving of zero stars.

Our appliance technician was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. We were very satisfied.

Technician was polite, friendly and knowledgeable.
Problem I was experiencing would not reoccur when Technician arrived.
He assured me he would look into it anyway and found two bad rollers.
They were promptly replaced, and problem solved.
I very much appreciate the tenacity of Jakob and his desire to solve my problem. -
The AC was not cooling well enough. The technician was sent by the insurance company and he denied the claim. He aledgedly check the pressure in the AC without me being present. He did the check within the less than a minute - impossible, since he needed to remove and put back the pannel. He said that the pressure was OK!?. His laser termometar was shoving 10⁰F lover (I had my own to confirm). His temperature readings at the AC unit in the basement were also off. He claimed that the problem is in the ducts even though the temp of the diffuser (main basement unit) was at 75F (should be 65-68F). The air coming out the ducts was also 75F instead of 68F. He was either incompetent, which I doubt, or having incentives from the insurance to deny claims. We paid $100 as deductible and the problem was not solved.

Eric is a devoted, respectful, punctual, and reliable young professional. He did an excellent job in the maintenance and cleaning of our dryer. I will definitely use Sears' services again in the future.

The tech arrived early, came in and went straight to work. He gave me an estimate, a little higher than I expected. He did a great job and didn’t take long. I was disappointed in the warranty, I spend over $500 for repair and the warranty is only for 30 days.

Tech was knowledgeable, friendly, had spare parts with him. My land mower (tractor) fixed in no time.
I am grateful for the service -
Very knowledgeable, and professional technician. Took his time explaining things, and asked me if I had any questions he could answer.

Happily doing laundry again! Ibrahim diagnosed and fixed our dryer on the spot. Very courteous service and would highly recommend.

Saul is amazing. He took the time to explain what the noises were from our refrigerator, and thoroughly inspected our dishwasher to verify the source of the issues that were causing it to not work. We will be asking for him by name (number) if we have any repairs needed in the future.

Oscar was excellent - the best Sears service person we have ever had. He was efficient, knowledgeable and very helpful.

Monty was a great service technician. I think the interface of scheduling service online needs work. I got reminder emails all week, I would’ve expected to get a call the day before telling me a narrower time window for when my technician would be at my location. Instead, he called me 15 minutes before he was arriving at my location. And that’s because he said he didn’t know where he was going until he had finished his first service call. I would think he would want your service technicians to know their entire schedule for the day. That way they could contact the people requesting the service and give them a better window as to when they will be arriving.

Very disappointed tech kept saying that’s adding up fast. And when told what I the customer wanted he tried talking me out of it. Then asked him to disconnect said part because it has to be ordered so I can resume using my cook too but says nope he can’t do that. That’s crap won’t be using sears ever again. And then he asks if I want a warrenty policy with the company lmao

Confessor was my service technician today. He showed up a little later than the website said, but he did call in advance to tell me when he would arrive. He fixed my Kenmore Elite refrigerator's failed compressor. He also gave me a few tips and bits of information about my refrigerator.
While I was unhappy to have my refrigerator out of service (the compressor failed 7 years into the 10-year warranty), Sears Appliance repair was pretty good at providing me with information and making repair technicians available in a timely manner.
When my refrigerator-freezer failed late Monday, I confirmed it on Tues. morning and called Sears Appliance Repair. They sent a technician over that afternoon. He (Ibrahim) confirmed that my compressor needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, he did not have a replacement immediately available. He ordered the compressor and two related small parts. The compressor (a $500 item) was free because it was under warranty. The other 2 parts and the service cost me about $660.
Originally, I had been scheduled for the installation of the new compressor 2 weeks in the future. But the parts were delivered to my home 2 days after the original technician ordered them. I called Sears Appliance Repair and was able to get the service call moved up to the next morning. It was a pain in the neck being without a refrigerator-freezer for 3-1/2 days (and putting all my food in a cooler with ice in the meanwhile). But at least Sears Appliance Repair got the matter fixed fairly quickly.
I also liked the website where the expected time of arrival of my technician was posted. I was originally given a 4-hour window of arrival, but the website told me how many other customers were ahead of me and an estimated time when my technician would arrive. They also sent me e-mails and called me to alert me to the arrival. So I would rate the overall customer experience as pretty darn good. -- SZ, Glen Ellyn, IL -
Oscar was very informative and helpful. He serviced our washers and dryers quickly and made us aware of the home warranty program which we signed up for. I did not like the fact I had to pull out and put back my washer and dryer myself which was two stackables.
