I have never written a bad review. But I cannot hold this back. I spoke with this company for an inspection date of 2/26/25 between 12-3PM. They were a no show and I had to literally hunt them down for an answer. My tenant and contractor were on the hook and I do not recommend SOT chimney.

This technician was young and knowledgeable, seemed genuinely honest and tidy. They came to address a separate issue - my furnace wouldn't turn on, but I had no idea someone had cut off the power switch. Upon inspection, they found a code on the thermostat. We headed downstairs to the basement where they flipped the switch and it started working. The technician handled the call himself so I didn't get charged for that service call. Afterwards, I was offered an additional cleaning at a different rate with an updated warranty - thanks for your help.

Their installation work was satisfactory, although they didn't install anything for me. The furnace they did install is of good quality and has no problems. Four Seasons did a great job on the installation.

From the start, it was clear that Absolute was running a disorganized operation, one that would ultimately harm both their own reputation and that of Home Depot. The lack of communication and transparency from Absolute was staggering, with no initial estimate for when work would begin, and an unacceptable delay in responding to my repeated calls and emails.

The project's start date was finally confirmed over eight weeks after signing the contract, but this only set the stage for a series of bizarre events. The first worker failed to show up on the scheduled day, citing "personal issues," and then appeared late, accompanied by his girlfriend who sat in the truck all day. His work was sporadic, with him claiming that he could only complete certain tasks due to an unexpected commitment elsewhere.

As the days went by, it became increasingly clear that this worker was not reliable, and that I would be left to deal with the consequences of their incompetence. They caused damage to my pipes during demolition, failed to fix it, and then claimed they were unable to work on Wednesday due to "personal problems" in court - a result of an accident involving road rage.

The situation only grew more absurd as the days passed, with the worker vanishing without warning one day, and text-ming me that he was leaving. I was left without a functioning toilet for an extended period, with Absolute's customer service seemingly completely uninterested in resolving the issue.

Incredibly, it wasn't until later that I discovered the first worker had been fired, and that my tools were still at my house, despite being told they would be retrieved within minutes. This experience left me feeling like I was dealing with a small, fly-by-night operation rather than a reputable contractor chosen by Home Depot.

Despite my frustration and disappointment, I did eventually receive a competent and genuine construction worker who completed the job to a satisfactory standard. However, this was largely due to luck rather than any real improvement in Absolute's operations or coordination with Home Depot.

In retrospect, I am shocked that Absolute remains in business, given their apparent lack of organization and communication skills. It is clear that they are failing to provide adequate support to Home Depot's customers, and that the partnership between the two companies is not as robust as it appears on paper.

My experience has left me questioning Home Depot's ability to manage its subcontractors effectively, particularly when it comes to customer service and coordination. As a consumer, I had assumed that I was dealing with a reputable nationwide business with a proven track record of quality and reliability - but the reality is far more complicated.
