IAQ Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning

So our old house has these massive floor vents, the kind that collect everything, pet hair dust crumbs from like 2019 probably. IAQ came through and did all the ductwork and I will say the one thing that stuck with me is the guy pulled out this camera and showed me what was inside one of the main runs before he started. That image is burned in my brain. My allergies have been way less annoying the past couple weeks too which is a nice bonus.

dryer vent cleaning is one of those things i never thought about until my dryer started taking two full cycles to dry a normal load of towels. like not even heavy ones, just regular bath towels. been dealing with it for maybe four months just running it twice and not thinking much of it. my dad mentioned lint buildup can actually start fires which kind of freaked me out so i looked up IAQ and booked a dryer vent cleaning. the tech pulled out this compressed mass of lint from the vent line that was honestly disturbing, like a small animal. he said it was pretty backed up which yeah obviously lol. after that first load dried in maybe 40 minutes i was genuinely surprised. the dryer itself runs cooler now too i noticed when i touched the top of it mid cycle. also my energy bill went down a little this month which tracks since i was basically running the thing double every time.

Had been putting off the duct cleaning for way too long - one of those things you know you should do but keep ignoring. Finally got around to booking with IAQ and they had availability pretty quick. Crew came out, walked me through everything before starting, and honestly the whole process was less disruptive than I expected. That first evening I could tell the air felt different, like cleaner somehow. Hard to describe but it was enough that I noticed it just sitting on the couch.
