Landscaping reviews in Wheaton, Illinois

We used Schmitt's Landscape for a new backyard patio. Mark and Brad developed a functional and great looking design that addressed some unique drainage challenges, and worked very well with the problematic location of window wells adjacent to our back patio door. They helped us with selection of pavers for the main area and borders. We are so pleased with the results. Their proposal and communications on the project were clear. We are very satisfied with the quality of their work, and in fact are now having them develop a landscape plan for our yard.

We've used Schmitt's for our patio and front walkway as well as spring / fall cleanups. Their quality of work, communication and service is second to none. Highly recommend using them for all landscaping / hardscaping projects!

I would highly recommend Schmitt's Landscape Company. Mark offered numerous suggestions regarding design and worked closely with us to find plantings that were appropriate for the space and within our budget. He patiently listened to our vision and executed it perfectly. We were provided an estimate of how long the project would take. This estimate was very reasonable and everything was completed on schedule with no delays or issues. We've also received numerous comments from neighbors complimenting our new landscape design. We love it, too! If you are looking for a reliable, affordable and professional landscape company, start with Schmitt's.

We worked with Mark Schmitt and team on our backyard throughout 2021. We had a lot of moving parts including burying downspouts, improving our foundation grade, removing an old brick patio and installing a new one, leveling a rocky mud pit, installing new sod and planting several trees. We are so pleased with the results and the process was very smooth. Schmitt’s team worked incredibly hard during the hot august month and Mark kept in constant communication with me and the crew. We had the added complexity of being in a townhome and working with the association and around neighboring units. This was a great investment for us and we now have a backyard that is beautiful, usable and safe for our kids.

We highly recommend Schmitt’s Landscape Co. We could not be more pleased with all the work they have done for us. Projects included drainage, evergreens to screen deck, sod, constructing stone retaining walls, and bushes and perennials for landscape bed. Mark (Jr) listened to all our concerns and came up with a plan to meet them. He did a wonderful job of timely communication throughout the process. The crew members were always pleasant, very professional, and did beautiful work. We have received many compliments from the neighbors. We are grateful to Schmitt’s Landscape Co. and recommend them without hesitation.

We hired Schmitt’s Landscaping this summer to remove a concrete walkway and replace it with a brick paver walkway to the house. Schmitt did an amazing job. We love how the project turned out and we have received countless compliments from our neighbors.

Mark and the entire Schmitt team were great to work with. Professional, knowledgeable, and patient!
Mark was our main point of contact throughout the project- proposal, design, revision, and installation. He is very responsive and kept us updated.

My wife and I had numerous questions-Mark helped guide us along the way and ensured everything was completed to the highest standards. We could not be happier with how the walkway turned out.

We will be using Schmitt for future landscaping needs.

Schmitt's Landscaping is a great company to work with. My wife and I went back and forth with Schmitt over design/plants over several months. Mark in particular was great to work with as he was very responsive in all communications. Once the day came for the job to performed the crew did a great job. The crew was at our home over the span of 2 days and did everything that was expected. The end product looks great and we would recommend Schmitt to anyone looking to have landscaping done.

The crew from Schmitt’s Landscape Company does an exceptionally good job! My property has never looked better, from the edging to the pruning. They are hard working and efficient, and are always agreeable to any requests or questions I may have.
They also built a large stone planter near my patio which is stunning.I recently had them replace and plant a boxwood hedge, that is thriving.
Mark, was a pleasure to work with, and his communication skills were refreshing!
I would highly recommend this company for lawn care and landscaping. They are true professionals.

I can't say enough good things about Schmitt’s Landscaping Company. They transformed both our front and backyard, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the results. Their attention to detail, innovative designs, exceptional workmanship, and high-quality materials are truly impressive.

From the very beginning both Mark and Brad (the architect) were wonderful, excelled in communication, timeline management, designing, and planning, ensuring everything ran smoothly. They look our concept and came back with wonderful designs that suited our needs and also went beautifully with our home aesthetics. We split the front and back work 9 months apart and they did an exceptional job both times giving us exact timelines which they met.

Maricio and the entire crew was always prompt, professional, hardworking, and meticulous, taking care of even the smallest of the details and delivering outstanding work. Even when we wanted to make changes halfway through the projects, Brad and his team accommodated our requests seamlessly making sure we were happy with the results.

We worked with Schmitt’s Landscape Co. last year and were delighted with the major landscaping, stone wall and blue stone porch installation they did. I really enjoyed working with both Mark and Brad who were very collaborative, responsive to issues, and always concerned about client satisfaction. Brad came back last week to see how the landscape was doing and plans to replace a few plants that didn’t survive and provided tips on care. We would definitely recommend Schmitt’s Landscape for their excellent work and follow up!

We hired Schmitt’s to remove and reconstruct a large, old patio. From the jump, they were easy to communicate with, open to our ideas and respectful of our budget.
I appreciated that Mark, Mark jr and/or Brad were on the job site everyday to talk us through the process and make sure things were moving along as scheduled.
The crew was on time, clean and friendly. The job was finished early, even with several changes from the original plan.
There were a lot of decisions to make, material choices, color options, planting plans. And the years of experience that Schmitt’s brought to the table made these choices easy. The fact that they are so established in our community made it easy to see other jobs they had completed. The craftsmanship is impeccable and the pride they took in a job well done was evidenced in the fact that they started the job with a smile and ended with a smile. We couldn’t be happier to give our highest recommendation

We worked with Mark Schmitt Jr. and team. We had them bury downspouts, repair circular paved driveway, install a wall around patio, install a flagstone walk way, and increase the size of our patio. We are so pleased with the results and the process was very smooth. Mark and the Schmitt’s team worked incredibly hard and did an amazing job!! Mark Jr. always kept in contact on the numerous decisions and choices that needed to be made. Brad gave us some wonderful recommendations that only made everything even more gorgeous. They even came in under budget which is unheard of nowadays. This was an amazing experience and we can't thank Schmitts enough. We plan on using them for our landscape design in the future.

I worked with Schmitt's on re-designing our yard after we moved into our home. The existing landscape was overgrown and quite outdated. Mark came out to talk about what we were hoping to achieve, and worked with Brad, their architect, to translate that into a beautiful new landscape design for us. I did have to book with them far in advance (October for a spring planting), but I am so happy we were able to get on their schedule. The whole project took about 2.5 days to complete, and our yard looks fantastic! Mark was super responsive, and the crew who worked on our planting were tidy and super efficient. I'd definitely recommend Schmitt's!

Truly could not have been happier with how my paver / landscape project turned out. Mark and his team created a design that made sense for my sense for my space and executed it from start to finish flawlessly. I am so impressed with their work and would recommend them to anyone.

We had a great experience with Schmitt's Landscaping. We recently moved into a home that had some grading issues around the house. Mark and the entire crew were wonderful. Mark was able to propose a solution that not only fixed the problem but also looked great aesthetically and added to the backyard. The masonry for the retaining wall and the back steps was very high quality work. The rest of the work was done with the same precision and attention to detail. The entire crew was very professional. We definitely plan to use them again in the near future!

Schmitt's Landscape Company is awesome! We have been using them for 30+ years. They've installed the entire landscape around our house, replaced trees/plants when necessary and helped improve our drainage. No job is too small for them. Mark is the best and great to work with. We highly recommend Schmitt's!

We used Schmitt's Landscaping to install new landscape lighting on a home. When he first came out we explained to him that we were having a wedding at our home in about six weeks time and would love to have it done by them. We quickly ordered what we wanted, came and installed it and even drove by several times for the next few nights to make sure we were happy with the way the house was lit up. He even installed a couple additional lights for some corners of our house that we felt needed more light. It looks beautiful! So happy that we used Schmitt's Landscaping and would highly recommend them

My advice is to trust the process and wait to see how GREAT it turns out! We used Schmitt’s Landscaping Company for a major overhaul of our backyard and front yard. (Brick work, handrails, lighting, drainage, and landscape plant design.) Mark is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The architects came up with a plan that was so much better than expected. They worked with us to pair down some of the planting and I combined different main brick and edge brick. It looks great! We were able to break the job into two. Backyard in 2023 and front yard in 2024. Both crews were extremely hard working, prompt, and respectful. They know what they are doing. Please trust the process they will get done what is proposed in your plan and you will be so elated with the finished product. I highly recommend Schmitt’s Landscaping Company.
