Met the guys at 4:10 PM and did a clean out of the tank. Very professional and courteous.. Did a good job of cleaning up and will get me a price for riser containment. Will continue to use Max Haas for my future ownership of this property.

Nice people on the phone, but feel duped. Needed Max Haas to provide a septic system inspection.

Tech came to home and said he couldn't find the septic tank. Part that is tough to swallow is that we were charged the septic system inspection fee and needed it paid before Max Hass would let us know they could not perform the inspection.

Feel that the Tech was just unqualified for the task needing performed and they should not have taken the money for him to drive out and not do any work.

Edit - Angela with Max Haas has made this right. as stated before...very nice to talk to. Tech just seemed unqualified for this task.

Michael, the owner, came out in June and did some repairs on the septic. He was very nice at the time and told me to contact him with any issues or if the repair didn't fix the problem. After a dry summer, the issues didn't show till late fall. I called multiple times to tell him the repair didnt work. He never returned my call. The receptionist said she gave him 3 or 4 messages to call me and he wasn't responding so she gave me a number to call another company. The issue is I think the current problem is due to the June repair. Now I have to start over with someone else...

Diagnosed problem incorrectly ! Paid them $3200.00 still have problem . Owner won't return my calls.
Stay away from this company !

Several months ago, I tried to get them to come out to clean the septic tank at my house. I literally emailed them twice, called and left three voicemails, but yet no return phone call or response. They obviously don't have good communication skills or seemingly care about customers. Avoid at all cost!

My husband and I are in the middle of purchasing a home and Max Haas was chosen by the seller (and paid by the seller - not us) to complete a full inspection on their septic system. The inspector (name has been removed) reported that the septic tank was in good condition (evaluated by probe), the distribution box was in good condition, and the finger system as well. They reported that all of the fingers were ranging between 2-2.5 feet in depth, with only one at 3 feet.

After calling every septic company in the Indianapolis area, I was able to determine that Max Haas is the only septic company in Indianapolis that does not believe in septic dye tests. I spoke with over 10 reputable companies that all rely on this as a major component of determining if a septic system has failed.

After having another very reliable company come out to inspect the septic system for another option, we were able to determine that Max Haas reported incorrectly on all of their findings.
1) The septic tank is not in good condition. In fact, it did not have a baffle installed. Max Haas did not even report this.
2) The fingers range between 3 and 5 feet deep. This tells me that Max Haas did not even actually check the entire finger system as the inspector reported very differently on the depths of the fingers/laterals.
3) There was no disturbance around the distribution box. When I spoke to Max Haas over the phone, they assured me that the D-Box is the heart of the septic system and this told them everything they needed to know. When we found the D-Box during the 2nd inspection, there was absolutely no disturbance in the area to the grass or dirt. Please tell me how you can inspect a D-Box without disturbing anything around it? For those of you who don't know, this is underground.
4) If every reputable company in the Indianapolis area relies on dye tests, Max Haas should do. This is an industry standard and should be treated with professionalism. The dye test was able to tell us that there was a drain in which the dye and sewage was leaking from and going into a nearby creek. We tested all of the drains on the home and found that when we put water into two of them (we waited for each to drain in full before moving onto the next), and sure enough, the dye and some sewage came out of the drains. These drains were buried and somehow (intentionally or unintentionally) went over the finger system, causing the sewage to connect to the drain and leak into the creek.

It sounds to me like Max Haas gets great reviews on pumping systems, but they really did not perform at all for an inspection. They charged the seller $300 for a faulty inspection, assured all of us repeated times they were confident in their evaluation of the system (they reported it was in good, working condition). Yet the home has sewage leaking into a creek that connects to a major lake in the nearby area.

Unfortunately I read previous reviews on the company and all mainly positive. I had my home inspected prior to purchase and the inspector recommended calling a qualified septic company to make sure all was okay. Max Haas showed up and couldn’t locate the tank so we ended up digging it up and having them come back out. The inspector from Max Haas said the tank was not in need of any attention and gave me a clean report. I move into the home that had been vacant the entire time and during my first shower sewage gas and waste water rushes back into the shower and toilet from drain lines. So we have Max Haas come back out another time to do an inspection and they inform us the tank is collapsed and write that in documentation. Mind blowing after they were there 3 months prior and said all is good. We hire another company to get their opinion and the tank was not collapsed and rather full of solids with a broken lid more than likely that occurred on the first trip to the home by Max Haas. As it wasn’t broken when I originally dug it up locating the tank for inspection. $3,000 later and several headaches my septic is back in working order. No thanks to Max Haas… would HIGHLY recommend finding another company.

Max Haas Septic is not responsive to issues they caused. Use them with caution and expect lack of follow-through. had out septic services 4/2025 and only Max Haas has services in past 8 years. Cement cover was on tight and technician brooke it up with sledge hammer into pieces. Reminder, it wa a Haas technician that put it on previously. Contacted the office and finally it was determined that they would replace the cover they broke. Mike (Owner) was gracious and came out to inspect. iIt was determined they would need to have a cement lid replacement custom made. Texting back and forth with Mike, he indicated several times he would be in our area (Mooresville) " next week" or "soon." The last response from Mike was 8/19/2025. now a month later, no response. Mike gave nice responses in the beginning and I actually thought he would follow through. It has a now been almost FIVE MONTHS since they destroyed our septic lid with NO RESOLUTION.
