Modern did a good job. They're reliable, which is why I stick with them. Just had them replace my AC and furnace, too - new ducts were added. The whole thing took about 7.5 hours, and they kept me in the loop throughout.

Had a 30-year-old central air conditioner that started malfunctioning. I'd previously used Modern services a few years ago and was satisfied with my experience, so I called them about the A/C. Given my existing unit's age, I expected it to be nearing the end of its lifespan, which is why I got quotes from multiple companies. While this installation wasn't as seamless as my previous one, I still recommend Modern to others. Although there was an issue with the installation, they promptly addressed the problem and didn't take any shortcuts in resolving it. My only reason for not giving them a 5-star review is that there was a hiccup.

Avoiding this company is a must. In 2010, we bought a high-efficiency furnace from them for over $5,000, which came with a 10-year parts warranty and a one-year labor warranty. Despite regular filter changes and proper maintenance, the furnace was still taken out of commission by them more than 12 times in six years. On several occasions, I had to pay for parts because they claimed certain components were not covered under the original warranty.

The constant repairs took its toll on me, and after repeated interactions with their staff, I asked them to replace the furnace instead. However, the manufacturer declined to do so. The current furnace was broken again just a few days ago, and when I called to report the issue, I was told it wouldn't be fixed until late in the day. I was left shivering in 10-degree weather without heat.

When I followed up with the customer service representative, she seemed uninterested in my plight. Later that morning, another technician called me to inform me that my part warranty had expired, and I would have to pay for any necessary repairs. I pointed out that my paperwork showed a 10-year parts warranty, but he didn't seem surprised or willing to help.

In fact, he seemed dismissive and uncooperative, which only added to my frustration. When I told him I'd already called the previous day and was left without heat in cold weather, he suggested calling another company for assistance. His attitude was condescending and unhelpful.

When I expressed my disappointment to the owner, he became defensive and dismissive. The experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would advise anyone from avoiding this company altogether. If it weren't so frustrating, I'd consider taking further action.

We hired Modern Heating to fix our heating issue, but things took a turn for the worse. When Jason from their tech team arrived, he told us we needed a new furnace because of a blown heat exchanger. We got another HVAC company in the next day and were shocked to find out our heat exchanger was fine and working perfectly. The problem turned out to be that Modern Heating had shut off our gas line, which explained why our heat wasn't working. When I spoke with the CEO about this, he didn't take our concerns seriously and stuck by his tech despite our explanation. It's unbelievable that a company would operate like this, making it impossible for us to trust them. We wouldn't recommend Modern Heating and are considering reporting their actions.

Excellent experience with this company, from initial contact to final installation. The staff I've interacted with have been top-notch, extremely friendly and accommodating. Had a long-overdue furnace replacement after mine failed on the eve of New Year's, and they also set up my new Nest device. Highly recommend them without hesitation.
