I hired Custom Electric to install several outlets, a new light fixture, and TV wall hangers along with a whole home surge protector. They quoted and quickly got me scheduled. The electrician was on time, polite, and did exactly as quoted. I do recommend Custom. The total cost was on the high side, but not as important given my need to get work completed in between home construction projects.

Fantastic communication before and after the appointment. Our technician Vincent was very personable and knowledgeable. He walked us through pricing before he began work and the final cost was exactly what he estimated. Vincent wore shoe coverings and cleaned up entirely upon job completion. I would highly recommend Vincent and Custom Electrical for all your electrical needs.

We were looking to install a whole house generator, in the event of an outage. First company we contacted was Custom Electrical Services Des Moines. Blake, the main man of the operation, came right out and gave us an estimate, to include replacing all of our smoke/carbon alarms. Not long after we called them, they were on the job. First off, they discovered we had had a fire in our meter box. They called Mid-American Power to assist in the replacement. We were very fortunate to have that discovered. After that, installation, hook ups, inspections, and the final Ta-Dah on the day they promised. Our new, whole house, Generic generator, and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors are all working great. The whole team was outstanding, including Mattie, the operation dispatcher. We totally recommend this company for any job. They care. Thank you Custom Electric.

Danny G helped restore electrical power to our garage and install a surge protector. He was extremely professional and did a fantastic job. We will be going with Custom for any electrician needs going forward.

Custom Electrical Services handled my lighting and ceiling fan jobs with professionalism and quick service. The knowledge and quality work of Jackson was much appreciated.

Incompetent electrician left an entire bedroom with an open ground after they failed to correctly hook up the ground when I had them add a junction box in the attic. Electrician had his helper up there who clearly didn’t know what he was doing. Had to hire some else to fix it.

Jackson and Vincent were both on time for the calls and completed the project on-time and budget and clean up nicely. A job well done!

Our service included a Generac whole home backup generator installation and an addition of a outdoor outlet. Danny G and his apprentice came to give the initial estimate for the generator. I was impressed with Danny's knowledge and thoroughness of his review and listening to understand our questions and concerns. I was so impressed I requested that he complete the work. Had a very positive experience with Blake. We needed two tasks completed to comply with the inspection of our home before closing. Blake arrived on time, he checked out the two minor issues, showed me an estimate of cost, and then quickly made the repairs. He took before and after photos to go with the paid invoice which we could send to the buyers, so they could see the work was completed. He was very polite and professional. We will use your business again if we need electrical work done in the future.

Alec is friendly and knowledgeable. I’ll will have him back in the future as I continue to update my home.

Though our emergency appointment was simply a flip of a switch (literally...) Alec made sure to make use out of his time since our original problem was solved in just a few minutes. He went above and beyond to ask for further electrical problems he could help with.

Update: We had CES come a second time to install an outlet on a dedicated circuit in the basement for a new treadmill. The manufacturer’s recommendations were a bit complicated but the tech who came out found a solution and was very pleasant to work with.

We needed to have a Tesla charger installed and went with CES as they’re a certified installer. I had to follow up a few times on the appointment (perhaps the permits took longer than expected?) but we’re satisfied! Also had a whole-house surge protector installed (the membership saved us a lot on both projects) and plan to have them do our electrical when we finish the basement.
