I have used the services of HandyGuy a few times per year for the past several years. All of their work is high quality. Jeremy has even made items for me, offered suggestions to resolve maintenance issues, and let's me know if something is not his area of expertise (most things are in his area of expertise). They are always on time, communicate with me on arrival time and materials that may be needed should I choose to purchase myself. They clean up after each of their projects. I have recommended Handy Guy to my family friends and recommend them to you.

We needed a light fixture installed in our dining room. The fixture needed some customization to fit our application, and it was a bit too much for me to do so we enlisted the help of Handy Guy.
We checked out various services online and found Handy Guy. I found the awesome estimator tool on their website to find out about how much it'd cost to have the work done. I then contacted them via email to schedule the appointment (what a breeze that was!). Jennifer was super-friendly and got back to us really quickly. Jeremy and Jennifer got the work done so fast and perfectly! I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Jeremy and Jennifer are really professional and really friendly!
We're definitely going to use them for future projects! I'd highly recommend Handy Guy! Jeremy really knows his stuff!!!

I have utilized Handy Guy for all types of work in my home over the past few years, including changing and adding new electrical items like light fixtures and a bathroom exhaust fan, changing out plumbing fixtures, adding dimmer switches, painting a concrete floor, painting walls/ceiling over a stairwell, patching sheet vinyl flooring, installing towel bars/coat hooks, installing a glass shower partition, patching ceramic tile, installing appliances, etc. I keep a running wish list and schedule them typically 2-3 times a year to help with things that either I don’t have the desire and/or skills and tools to do myself.

Jeremy, Jennifer, Jonah and team are just good people - friendly, professional, very skilled, and thoughtful about their work. They have a high level of experience/knowledge and are able to help troubleshoot and make proactive suggestions if needed. They are honest, reliable, and extremely detail oriented. It is rare to find good help and Handy Guy seems to do it all and do it very well. If you want the job done right, I recommend Handy Guy 100%!

Had a great experience. Inquired about having my doorbell repaired. Handy Guy was upfront regarding their schedule, made sure it worked for my schedule, and were very good at communicating exactly what to expect. Once Jeremy arrived he was very nice, got the doorbell fixed, and got the job done right and in a timely manner. Highly recommend! Good people.

We have used Handy Guy for years on many projects, building a linen closet, garage shelves, ironing board closet, hanging fans, installing a hand rail, repairing kitchen cupboards, etc. Have never had any problems. They are very professional with reasonable rates, and are extremely nice people. We highly recommend them.

We have had Handy Guy repair several things around our house over the last few years. Recently we had a shower leaking, and others had been unable to figure out the root cause. Jeremy figured it out and successfully repaired it and under the quoted price. Handy Guy is always professional, always on time, stays within the quoted price and does very high quality work. He really cares, is very informative, and its always a pleasure to work with him and his son, they do great work!

I am new to the Des Moines area, and I needed help after moving. I hired Handy Guy (Jeremy) and I have been very happy with the work he and Jonah have done for me on several occasions. They are professional and complete the work in a timely manner. I am grateful for all of their help and expertise.

We had two jobs done, building a step and breaking into some drywall for dryer duct work. Both were done superbly, with minimal mess or inconvenience. Jeremy and his family are fantastic to work with, and we love the finished projects!

Handy Guy is the best!
Always dependable, and can do just about anything! Jeremy and Jonah have many years of experience. They are professional, skilled, and provide quality workmanship. Handy Guy does great work at a reasonable price. Have been a customer for years, and even my relatives have used Handy Guy - and they are also exceptionally happy with his work! As far as I know, Handy Guy is the only handyman service in central Iowa that has office support staff. This is incredibly valuable, because his office support staff was able to do a nationwide search for us, and was able to locate difficult to find parts and hardware.

After searching for almost a year for a reasonably priced professional to redo our bathroom, we met Jeremy from Handy Guy. He was professional and friendly, and his bid for work was reasonable. Working with his wife Jennifer as I was purchasing supplies was a joy, she thinks of things the average person wouldn't. During the demo & remodel, Jeremy & Jonah were efficient, considerate and cleaned up after themselves every night. They were especially considerate about the noise level, as I work from home 20 feet from the bathroom. Special note on the sink install, we have a weird water line issue, Jeremy was able to suggest and install sink lines and a drain that ended up solving our problem while still looking great! We're incredibly pleased with the end result and I HIGHLY recommend Handy Guy for any job. We'll absolutely hire them again!

I would like to share my experience.
I'm a traveling nurse, and a few months back my best friend of 11 years committed suicide. It sent me into a deep depression. I realized that i HAD to pull myself up by my boot straps and keep going. I always feel better when im taking care of something- so I purchased a baby ball python. Well, I take her out and interact with her for a few hours every day. Today I was going to the petshop to buy her some mice and I took her with me. She was around my neck, then went on my arm and she dropped to my floor board. By time I got pulled over (a matter of seconds), she had found a hole that goes to my middle console! I'm not from here, so I didn't know anyone to call- so I started calling everybody! I called animal control, the pound, a mechanic.... FINALLY I thought "a handyman!". I'm so glad I called this company! It was around 9pm and they still let me come to their house and thanks to this wonderful family, Im able to say that my ball python is safe! Temperatures were suppose to drop very low tonight so it really worried me. I can't thank them enough!!!!

From working with Jennifer with the scheduling and bookkeeping to the work that was completed, we couldn’t be happier. We are already looking at hiring them again for a future painting project.
