They are great! I needed wood chips for my yard and chicken run and they dropped off a truckload. Saved me time and money also it was very convenient.

We had a big project to do and were so glad to come across Pitts Tree and Sump Removal, the project got done quickly and efficiently, clean up was amazing! The crew all worked well together and left us with an amazing new look to our yard!

Pitts sent a team of workers to remove part of a one tree and remove the trunk and base of another very large tree (including grinding of the stump). They did all this in less than an hour and half. I was impressed with their efficiency in labor, professionalism in conduct, and kindness with neighbor kids who were often interfering with their work. They also left the yard in better shape leaving no remnants of the tree including leaves. They were great.

Brandon and his crew stepped in quickly after 2 other contractors stopped responding to questions. The Pitt's crew was on time, friendly, got straight to work, and did a great job from start to clean-up on my tree stump removal. Thank you!

We have had a tree removed and at a later date the stump removed. For both services the crews were friendly polite and professional. These folks are awesome and if I have needs in the future I will call again.

I hired these Great Group of guys to come mow and do some landscaping around my house they left a great impression on them selfs and i would 100% choose these guys to do my lawn over every other company.

He seems to think that just because he ignores your emails he has the right to charge you for services you never asked for.

Terrible communicator. I gave Brandon two week's notice that I no longer needed service. He continued to send his crew to cut the lawn even though I was no longer even a resident at that address and had clearly told him to not mow.

Then he sends me a bill for services after the date I had already canceled on. I told him I wouldn't pay because I clearly canceled with him. He says "ok, I'll get you off the schedule as of today." He clearly didn't get the message: I told him to cancel more than a month ago, not today.

Then his automated billing system sends me another message. I message him again to tell him that I had already canceled well before the services he's now charging me for. He says that my initial cancelation message went to his spam folder. Well that's interesting: he's never ignored my messages when I was asking him to do a job (i.e., giving him business) but somehow it's spam when I'm canceling service. He says that I should have called the office. I've never communicated with him via phone because he's never picked up the phone.

I told him I'm refusing to pay because he's charging me for services I never asked for (meaning that I had canceled before the services charged for occurred). He then threatens me with a mechanic's lien. He can go ahead and file a fraudulent one, I suppose.

Add to all of this the fact that he's sent me bills for things I've paid for over and over again. I've had to send him check images for checks of mine he's already cashed just to prove that.

The mowing service itself is great. He's just a terrible communicator and refuses to take responsibility for his own inability to read his own email. Again, I've tried calling them but email is the only way I've ever managed to communicate with this guy.

I was extremely impressed with the efficiency of Jeff’s crew. The tree was removed and the yard cleaned up in a timely manner. Brandon told me he only hires the best employees and after seeing these guys work I can definitely say pitts is the best tree removal service in central iowa. Thank you brandon and Jeff

It has rained in our area for days and I knew how busy all lawn care companies would be today, but I called to see if they could help mow my yard since my back had gone out and I couldn't get it done. As busy as they are, they said they could help me today! They came out and did a wonderful job, even edged and trimmed, and all at a good price! Thank you Pitts Lawn and Tree Service! We will use you again!

Honestly giving them 1 star is giving them too much credit... Terrible customer service! I spent 2 and a half months waiting for them to come trim a tree that was hanging over my house. They gave me 6 different dates that they were going to be out to complete the job and they never showed up or bothered to call me and let me know that the job wasn't going to be done when they said it would. After each appointment that they failed to show up for, I called them and they would give me a different date and then would never show up on that date either.

However, they did come out and complete a stump removal for us and promptly sent us an invoice for that. During a couple of the calls I had to make to them to "re-schedule" the tree trimming job, I mentioned that I had this invoice, which I might add was made out for a higher amount that I was quoted, and they told me that I could pay the quoted amount and I could pay for it upon completion of the tree trimming job. So I held onto the invoice. Just last week I called Pitts back again, (after failing the 6th time to show up) and said to cancel my order for the tree trimming because I was so fed up with them not showing up. Then yesterday I get another invoice in the mail for the stump removal with a 20% late fee added and a threatening message stating that they were going to send it to collections if they hadn't received my payment by 2/14 and that by that point it would be $75 in court fees and $150/hour for their lawyer. I have never been so disrespected as a customer in my life!

I wish I could have threatened your company with court and lawyer fees after any of the 6 different times your people failed to show up to complete a simple job. Needless to say I will be telling everyone I know no NEVER seek out Pitts Lawn and Tree Service for any work they need done.

On the eve of a nearly-historic snow storm Pitt's responded immediately to an inquiry regarding plowing. Even though it was after-hours and they were full, Brandon said he could fit us in. By midnight they came by and dealt with our narrow driveway (previous plows in other years had not been able to manage it), even hopping out to shovel our sidewalks by hand! They came by again in the morning and finished up clearing the snow that fell between midnight and the early hours. They not only saved us having to shovel a foot of snow, but also graciously showed up at the last minute with professionalism and serious skill. We are very grateful and highly recommend Pitts for snow removal!

Pitts Lawn & Tree Service did an awesome job of removing our ash tree. It was a very large tree and the crew had to work around 2 other trees nearby. The other 2 trees were not damaged at all as they took great care. The crew did the job of taking down the tree and removing the stump in less than a day and a half. They cleaned up everything and filled in the removed stump area with dirt. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. Thank you to your great team of workers!

They did a phenomenal job on my tree. I couldn't believe my eyes. Great rates and quick service. Got a hold of me and did the work the next day. No Hassle. Even trimmed my weed trees 😂. Awesome group of hardworking guys. Can't wait to have them come back. I highly recommend them.

This company did a great job at my place!! I had 3 trees and 1/2 tree removed. Very difficult job as the back yard is closed off from getting a boom truck in there and they had to climb both trees in the backyard to get them down. The climber and crew did a great job and were very careful on dropping all parts of the tree so my house and decks were not damaged. Very much appreciated for all the hard work!!

from my OWN personal experience - services were not rendered properly or on time. (This has nothing to do with money. I dealt with walking through the snow and shoveling when it’s not done properly.)

I phoned Pitts Lawn & Tree Service to get an estimate on having two trees trimmed this coming Fall. The owner (Brandon) arrived on time on the date we’d set for the appointment, gave me an estimate that was much lower than I’d anticipated and, when I said I needed the estimate in writing, said he’d “send it right out”. That was May 3rd. It’s mid-September now, and I haven’t received anything in writing yet. I've hired someone else.

From quote to removal this company does an amazing job brandon in the office is very responsive and knowledgeable. When Jeff’s crew arrived, Jeff made sure that any questions or concerns were addressed before the work started. Before I knew it the tree was gone and the yard was cleaned. I would definitely recommend pitts lawn and tree service to anyone needing tree or stump removal

Guys are amazing. They removed a large tree around my pond and cause no damage. There clean up was amazing. I highly recommend them. There price was fair. The owner was very knowledgeable he new what kind of tree I had. I believe this company is very worthy of of a 10 star. Thank you we appreciate your work.

Pitts Tree Service did a awesome job! We had four trees removed from around our house and the guys did a careful job in cutting them down. Clean up was very good and they made sure the yard looked the same as it was before they came. I will definitely have Pitts back to cut or trim my trees! A+

These guys are amazing! Fast yet thorough. After the removal of two trees, they cleaned up not only my yard but also included all my neighbors who may have been affected and the street completely. Called one day for an estimate and the trees were gone the next. Owner and crew were very nice!
