Constraction reviews in Polk City, Iowa

I decided to replace my wooden deck with timber tech materials and Alex Covington came recommended to me, and I’m so glad I chose him. From beginning to end, of the project, he was thorough and dependable. What he said he would do, he did !
So happy with Alex and his workmanship.

Alex does a great job! Very meticulously and great detail goes into his work!

Alex did a complete remodeling of our 10-year-old kitchen turning into a beautiful and much more user-friendly style and arrangement. He had to cope with relocating HVAC, plumbing and flooring. He was creative in solving those issues. He created a beautifully hand=built island for us and re-furbished our existing cupboards to tie the new and the existing into a fabulous kitchen which is one of the first areas you see when entering our house. He was also very neat and cleaned up after each day. We would recommend Alex to anyone with a desire to remodel or renovate their home.

We had an excellent experience working with Alex on our new deck and privacy panels. The craftsmanship is outstanding, but what stood out even more was the clear communication throughout the entire project. He was upfront about the timeline, kept us updated, and consistently followed through on every promise and expectation set. When an issue arose on our end, Alex was a problem-solver, providing multiple solutions for us to choose from. We were so fortunate to work with someone so reliable and detail-oriented. We absolutely love the finished project and highly recommend Covington Construction!

We learned about Alex of Covington Construction through a coworker when we were looking for someone to build a custom entertainment built-in for our basement. As a graphic designer, I can be particular about design details — and Alex rose to the occasion. He guided me through the process, welcomed my input on stains and style, and delivered a final product we absolutely loved.

Since then, we’ve hired him for tile work, an island install, and a composite deck replacement. Alex is detail-oriented, precise, and easy to work with. We’ve recommended him to others and will continue to do so!

I would highly recommend Alex/Covington Construction. We hired Alex to redo our decking and add glass panels. He did a fantastic job, he is easy to work with, and his attention to detail is very evident. He did such a great job that we also hired him to install a dry bar, and then he created and built a beautiful wall of built in bookshelves. He took my ideas and wants and turned it into reality.
