I called this business and was contacted back by Bo. He stated he would be here on the 13th of august. First no show he did. Then I reached out to him via text with no response. I then about a week later called the phone number on the website and Bo answered. He then asked if I was the one that texted him. I said yes. He then proceeded to tell me that he would be here today Wednesday. Again no show. I would no recommend this place of business for any services that they may offer.

Would recommend for any of your tree removal or trimming work. Everything we talked about was done in a neat and timely manner.

Outstanding crew! Very professional, and speedy service! Removed a tree in my backyard and ground the stump! Couldn't even tell they were there, other than the tree and stump were removed! All for a great price!

I was hit by the derecho in Cedar Rapids on August 10. I needed tree service to remove several dangling limbs over my garage/back yard, as well as a tree with a split trunk. I contacted several tree companies to try to get on lists - a huge task in the days after the storm. Top Notch was in my area of town offering estimates, and I saw their crews working a few blocks away. I felt the price they gave me was fair, and on Friday August 14 I let them know I wanted to hire them. On Sunday August 16 I igned an agreement, and I was told they expected to be at my house on Wednesday August 19.
Being the conscientious person I am, I then contacted the other companies I had talked to and told them I had the problem handled. This was a mistake.
On Tuesday August 18 I texted Top Notch to ask if they were still on schedule to come the next day, so I could get things prepared. I got no answer from them that day. On the morning of Wednesday August 19, I texted them again, only to get this response: "Sorry Scot I won't be able to make it at all. Sorry for the inconvenience."
Sorry for the inconvenience? This forced me to start from scratch the entire process of finding a tree service and having my trees removed. Today is Thursday, August 27, and while I have hired a company that says they'll be here within a few days, I still have not been able to get anyone to actually to come do the work, over a WEEK AFTER I expected this to be done.
While I understand Top Notch may not have been prepared for the enormous amount of work the derecho left in Cedar Rapids, and I do feel like I was offered a fair estimate for the work (that never got done), it was completely unprofessional for them to have me sign an agreement to hire them and then have them back out on the very day they told me they'd do the work. Thankfully no money had changed hands yet, or this would be a whole other issue.

Had a large tree branch hanging over my house. They removed it and disposed the trimmings as well. Highly recommend them to anyone. Excellent service (same day service) and very reasonable. Boe did an excellent job. Many Thanks!!!

Safety! Safety! Safety! I had the opportunity to watch Top Notch trim our trees take pictures and video. What stood out the most is thier Professionalism & Safety as they maneuvered the boom truck around. Every time the truck was moved the orange safety cones were replaced around the truck. The crew worked well together and clean up was beyond what I expected. I would recommend Top Notch Tree Service. Thank You for the great service! I've included a few pictures and videos.

After waking up to a large downed branch, my husband and dad thought they could handle cleaning up the tree. Unfortunately, the tree was very rotten. After a trip to the ER, a concussion and stitches, we knew we needed expert help. Boe and his crew were incredibly kind, honest, and such hard-workers. 5+++☆ Review for Boe and crew that did a great job removing my tree! Service was fast & cleanup after removal of tree was awesome, you would have never known they were even there. Friendly guys who keeps you informed when they are coming to do your work. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for tree trimming or removal.

Boe and the crew did a great job pruning the top of my neglected cottonwood tree. Dropping the dead limbs and branches out of my 130 year old tree will give it a fighting chance to stay healthy for a few more years. In addition to the cottonwood, They pruned the branches from other trees that were encroaching on my house and general shaping to make the overall property look great. After the tree service, I've noticed there are not so many sticks and twigs fallen onto the lawn. The professional service doesnt stop when the chainsaw work is done, the efficient ground crew made quick and neat clean-up of all the twigs and leaves taking great care to avoid damaging any shrubs and plants and lawn features. They set a high bar for complete and affordable tree care. I highly recommend Top Notch as the best in the area. Excellent communication. After having initial work done last year, Boe reached out to me this spring to ask about any additional work I might like to have done. He gave me an estimated time frame for when they would be in my area so I could plan for them. On the precise morning they were available, Boe contacted me to make sure I was available. Their morning job took longer than expected, so Boe contacted me again by phone to let me know what time they'd be arriving. On schedule, Boe rang the doorbell to let me know he was ready to begin and we walked around the yard so I could point out exactly what I needed done. Boe got started in the tree tops and by the time he had quite a lot of branches down, the crew showed up just in time to start cleaning up the yard.
