Very Very Rude ! Called to speak with Billy Still , A female Alicia answered when I intruduced myself and ask to speak With Mr. Still She rudely hung up the phone without saying anything not once but twice! This is unprofessional for business.

None of his employees spoke ANY English. Didn’t seal patio. No shows and forgot proper tools needed so had to come back the next day. Didn’t seem knowledgeable at all about project. Poor workmanship. Does the least he can possibly do. Was not even liscensed in our city to do work.

Are you looking for a contractor that will have the decency to keep you updated as to the (non) progress of the work you're paying them to do? Do you expect a phone call, voicemail, email, or text to be answered within days...possibly weeks? Go elsewhere. Anywhere. This guy is a total clown show and his lack of professional response to any form of communication caused a sale of a house to nearly be canceled. The closing date needed to be moved back not once, but twice. And that is owed to Still Contractors, LLC.

Rather than being upfront about giving an update as to the (non) progress of their work, Clay ignored every form of communication. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Great company! I love that it's family owned and operated. They were friendly, explained the process well, reasonably priced and their contractors were FAST and cleaned up great after they were done. Our new roof looks great - very happy with everything!

My experience with John and the whole Vision construction team has been great. They quickly replaced my roof and took the headache out of working with my insurance company. Would recommend to anyone looking.

They put a new roof on for us and the whole experience was smooth and painless. I appreciate that they were transparent with me and explained things I didn’t understand. They made sure our insurance didn’t give us a run around and everyone we interacted with was pleasant and kind.

Vision Was able to help me through the process of getting a new Impact resistant roof on a home we were buying. They came in lower than most other estimates with a bunch of free upgrades.

The professional and personal attention given to our basement bath remodel and kitchen trash compactor removal was appreciated. They were able to remove a very difficult compactor that other companies said my whole kitchen floor would have to be redone plus matched my existing cabinets with a rollout trash bin. They also put in insulation to warm our floors. They were very punctual and consistent with communication. We are enjoying our home.

Shack Built remodeled our kitchen. They maintain excellent communication, set realistic expectations on timelines and expense. They are honest and trustworthy. The quality of their work is excellent!

I’ve never left a poor review in my life. But this was definitely worth it after the phone call we just had with this company. Absolutely terrible customer service on the phone with their sales/admin person. Clearly inexperienced and unprofessional. If this is how they handle new client intake, I’d be hard pressed to believe they can deliver on their work.

I have met with Derick several times and he is very attentive and responsive to all my requests. He is extremely detail oriented and makes that he understands the entire process before making any decisions. I would not hesitate to recommend Derick for any project you have!

Shackbuilt was referred by a neighbor who said they were very particular in doing their job right. I was concerned they might be too expensive based on that comment. It turns out their bid was below other bids we received.
Indeed, the work was done very professionally and in a reasonable timeframe. Derick & Brett followed up at the end to make sure any concerns were addressed. There were none, the work done is excellent.

It's always great when we get the opportunity to work on a project with Derick Shackelford at Shack Built. As a window and door provider of Pella Products, we get to work with our fair share of contractors. Derick is one who always stands out to us. His creative and outside the box ability to transform a home to be as energy efficient as possible is truly amazing! He is really gifted in this area. It's natural to him and it shows. The other two things that always impresses me with Derick is the simple fact that he is a man of high integrity and his willingness to volunteer his time and give back to the community. He is passionate in everything he does and is a remarkable individual. If you are looking to transform your home through a remodeling or renovation project, you need to give Derick a call. You'll be glad you did.

My construction and COVID began at the same time. We encountered supply chain problems, subcontractors getting COVID, and problems with the city permitting process. All the "usual" headaches with a remodel were magnified due to COVID. Despite the uncertain and changing conditions Shack Built worked through them all. They always communicated with me regardless of the news. They guided me through all phases of the process and helped me make smart choices. Their attention to detail sets them apart from other contractors. "Good enough" is not good enough for Shackbuilt, they strive for excellence. I love my home addition!
Update: Prior to my remodel I had serious water issues in my basement. After the remodel the water issues were gone. After a recent overnight long rain storm I had no water, no moisture, no damp spots, nothing! The remodel is beautiful. The water mitigation was a miracle!

Shack Built helped us finish our basement. They were collaborative during the design process and transparent on potential change orders. They were easy to work with and produced a quality product that we were very happy with.

We contacted Derick Shackleford at Shack Built in September of 2018 to request a plan and quote to finish our basement. From that moment on, he and his team’s work, communication, and timeliness far exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t more highly recommend them with a Five-Star rating.

All around Derick, Brett, and their team were a pleasure to work with on our basement project. We finished around 1,000 SF of space. The quality of workmanship was extremely high and even when there were issues, which were inevitable on a project of this size and complexity, Derick and Brett never stopped problem solving and working to meet our expectations. From proposal through completion, the process was well orchestrated by their production manager, Brett Schubert. In addition, the overall construction team and subcontractors - framing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, finishing, (walls, paint, trim, doors etc.), cabinets, and counter tops were all excellent.

Most importantly, it is evident that two-way communication is highly valued by Derick and Brett and they know that it is necessary in order to make the process as enjoyable as possible. They are also open to feedback and recommendations related to how to improve the process. They were respectful of our home when entering and exiting each day and they kept the work space as clean as possible. Examples include having a dumpster and porta-potty on site and placing paper protection on the floors. They even paid for a full house cleaning after the project was complete!!! Shack Built kept on schedule throughout the project and we passed every building inspection on the first pass. We recommend the team at Shack Built to anyone, and not just for basement finishes. They also completed work on our dining room and stairwell.

We consistently receive compliments on how beautiful and well done our basement looks. Anytime we hear of someone contemplating a basement project we quickly share with them our highest recommendation of Shack Built. They are FANTASTIC!
