Positive experience with our landscaping needs this spring. James has a solid crew with loyal leads who have been with him for years. Wilmer and Irwin were great to work with, and the rest of the crew was crazy fast. Planted or transplanted a number of bushes and flowers, relocated some large rocks, and spread the remainder or mulch in 2.5 hours! The end result exceeded expectations, the crew was flexible when some unexpected issues arose with our sprinkler system that needed to be addressed. His pricing is fair, and he takes into account the size of the job when pricing. I’m considering switching to Solutions for my tree and lawn service as well, based on this initial experience. Contracted for grading, verticutting, sod and seeding in large area left bare and very uneven where new septic system was installed. Paid half the contracted price up front. It was over a month before a crew arrived to do the work, and that was after multiple unfulfilled promises of a start date. It took a threat to cancel the contract to get the job started. The crew sent out to do the work did not come prepared to do any grading work, and the crew chief said owner James Schneider did not give him any instructions to do grading work. Also, bare areas that were to receive sod were left without sod and seeded instead. Attempts to contact owner James Schneider that day were unsuccessful - secretary said "he's in a meeting." He never returned multiple calls. James did, however, email an invoice demanding full payment less than 12 hours after crew left the site. Refused to pay the full contract price because the grading work contracted for was not performed, and James sent out a crew knowing they were instructed not to perform all of the contracted for work. Classic bait and switch tactic. Very unscrupulous business practices. Even though James agreed to discount the price - but only after I objected - I had to spend additional time and money to put down more sod in the area that did not receive sod as promised, and will have to live with the uneven ground in the area that James did not grade as promised. And James blamed everything on his secretary, taking no personal accountabilty for the problems. Do not trust Solutions Lawn and Landscape - and owner James Schneider - to deliver what they promise.
