To Whom It May Concern:

SmithCon recently poured our new construction foundation, parking lot, and sidewalks. They poured 4 light pole bases for our parking lot lights. The bases were not squared, and neither were they complete, with parts of the bases missing, causing concern for the safety of our congregation and school children. I have spoken directly with two individuals concerning this and was assured by both the problem would be addressed. They did repair one of four. They did not repair the worst of the mistakes. Now, they will not respond to our emails and are using a 3rd party to notify us of placing a lien on our property. We have paid 98.6% of our contract and withheld the remaining 1.4 % because they have not fulfilled their contract of workmanship. There has been zero communication after assuring me the matter would be repaired. For these reasons and others I’d highly recommend you seek professional help for your concrete needs, elsewhere.

I understand construction is going on downtown and it's difficult to find parking but don't block the handicap spot

I had Wichita Construction and Concrete pour concrete in backyard on both sides of house that met up in the center of backyard. I wish I could have given them 5 stars but I did have some issues with the work done. The main issue was the finishing of the concrete. It was a little sloppy. Some areas had a smooth finishing and some had a broom brush finish. I wanted the texture of the broom finish but one of their guys decided he wanted to smooth out some areas without applying the broom finish. There didn't seem to be anyone in charge when it came to the finishing work Robert and Mark weren't there to check up on the finishing work which would have been nice that's why the finishing didn't get done right. Another issue was they took out my elbows on the bottom of the gutter spouts and also moved the gutter splash guards it would have been nice for them to put it back when they were done I had to do that. They also did not schedule the pump truck in a timely manner after they were done framing for concrete there was a whole week wasted where there was nothing done had dirt exposed for a whole week until pump truck finally showed up. Mark miscalculated on how many stairs I needed so I did need another stair added so had to fork another $350. I did have to ask them to push/finish the dirt back in the areas that they framed and staked into the ground because it left deep holes into the ground would have been nice if I didn't have to ask. They did splash concete on the siding of house would have been nice if they would have cleaned that up for me. Again they did a ok job but I wanted a great job. They need to iron out some work detail pay more attention to the detailing. We will see how the concrete holds up I will right a review on that later hopefully no cracks for a while.

This company poured new concrete paths at our home and it turned out just as we had hoped.

Concrete looks great, however, took longer than projected to finish the project, did not communicate well about postponements, and stated he would do things he did not complete. Won’t be hiring again.

I just cold called them for a quote on some excavation work and I quickly got a response and written estimate. They were knowledgeable, professional and courteous. When it’s time to do the work I’ll certainly be calling them back.

Timely estimate & work on our porch. Tore out railing & replaced porch posts with 6” cedar posts. Mark went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the job. Thank you.

Had 60 ton of rock put on driveway Robert did an excellent job leveling and spreading rock. Was here when he said he would be. Smooth operation and great price!!!
