Great experience with Dave’s Tree Surgeon from start to finish. They trimmed and groomed a storm damaged tree for us, removed a dead root, and cleaned up all debris. Their receptionist was very helpful. Highly recommend.

We opted to have Dave’s apply a special fertilization injection in an attempt to keep our large white pine tree rather than remove it. If the treatment does not show results, we will have Dave’s Tree Surgeons handle the removal next year.

We had a dire need to have a tree removed. This service apparently had a good reputation. The actual removal of the tree went without incident, however, don't look for them to do you ANY favors in the way of honoring a 'so-called' discount on their website or working with you in the event you should have any financial difficulties of your own. THEY ARE HEARTLESS when it comes to that and not only charge a hefty penalty if you go over 30 days from completion, but also threaten you with garnishment of wages and an attorney being pulled into the matter. Our problems with payment didn't mean we wouldn't pay it off, we just had multiple major obstacles in doing so and needed more time to spread out payments. My advice is to find a service that will work with you should such problems ensue .

We were very impressed with the job that was completed by Dave's Tree Surgeon's and the price was half the cost of 2 other tree services we checked. Thanks so much and you will be highly recommened I've inserted a b4 and after pic.

Original post 2013: I emailed Dave's website and gave my phone number to schedule an estimate to have trees TRIMMED. He showed up two days later unannounced. I took him to the tree closest to the house and told him I wanted only the limbs in danger of falling on the house during a storm removed. He said, "I can't predict which way the wind is going to blow. With the kind of storms we've been having, this whole tree could fall on the house." I said, "Then I want only the limbs that would fall on the house after an ice storm removed." He again said he couldn't predict that. I then said, "I want only the limbs in danger of falling on the house right now as we stand here removed." He said, "I'm going to turn down this job. I've been a professional for thirty years and I know how to do quality work and I don't like you telling me how to do my job" and he left.

Dave didn't seem to grasp that this was MY tree, not his.

The guy felt entitled to be rude because he was trying to manipulate me into having the entire tree cut down so he could make a much bigger profit, and I wasn't going for it. I've spent thousands of dollars having many trees trimmed over the last eighteen years and this is the first time I've encountered anyone who behaved like this. He didn't want a small job and he was irritated that he wasted a trip out here. He should have behaved like a "professional" and just said so instead of being rude.

Update 2018: DeSpain Tree Service Came out and trimmed the limbs. Five years later the tree looks great. I was very pleased with DeSpain. And I didn't have a large healthy tree removed because Dave wanted to make more money on the job.

Professional, well trained, and polite. These guys know what they are doing and are hard workers. They get the job done and then clean up.

I am on 13 acres with lots of trees. In the 25 years I have lived here I have had several "tree surgeons" come out for advice and work. Dave is by far the most knowledgeable and fair minded tree surgeon I have come into contact with. If you want the right decisions on what you should do with your trees, and a trustworthy man who will give you a fair price, Dave is your man.

David was Amazing! I now feel much better after having the two trees fertilized in my front and back yard; the quote for trimming was more than I can afford at this time but was assured that its possible to re-visit in the spring at the same price. As a bonus he was able to save my dogwood that I'd planned on chopping up & I'm very pleased to keep it!

Had them come out and assess a large tree for us. They were very helpful and informative. No charge for the assessment and provided some things we could do to help the tree. When the weather was right, they came out and gave the tree a deep root fertilization and pesticide treatment. More advise for watering etc. Very reasonable price. Don't wait for your tree to get sick, keep it healthy to begin with...good advice.
