WARNING: Negligent HVAC Diagnosis Resulted in Over $7,000 in Damages -- Company Denied All Responsibility
I hired Air Quality Technology to diagnose an HVAC issue at my rental property. They charged a diagnostic fee, cleaned a drain line, declared the work complete, and left.
What followed was a $4,732 PEPCO bill over the next three months -- the result of the outdoor compressor failing and the system running on continuous emergency heat in a vacant property. The property was uninhabitable for months. A second contractor ultimately identified and fixed the actual problem -- a major refrigerant leak -- for an additional $1,975. Two independent contractors confirmed this was the root cause that Air Quality Technology's diagnostic completely missed.
When presented with PEPCO billing records showing a 52-fold spike in electricity consumption beginning on the exact date of their service visit, along with two independent contractor diagnoses confirming the misdiagnosis, their response was to deny all responsibility (saying that they weren't hired to do HVAC work). They claimed the diagnostic fee only covered the ceiling leak symptom, not the HVAC system causing it -- despite being hired as an HVAC contractor specifically for an HVAC issue.
If you are considering hiring this company, get the full scope of any diagnostic in writing before work begins and do not accept a completion report without independent verification.

My experience with Luis has been amazing!
Do not hire anyone else but this company.I had another company conduct a diagnostic to my AC unit and they told me that my motor wasn't working, when I replaced it last year, and my quote was $585. I hired Luis and he told me that nothing was wrong with my motor. He did inform me that the fan was installed backwards so he began working and flipped the fan around. I also asked what other services he offered, and he checked my electrical outlets that was sticking out. He quickly fixed that issue and it looked as if nothing happened. Once he was done with the AC, the house started to cool down.
Luis is a professional and knows exactly what he is doing. He also saved me lots of money. Please Hire Him!!!!
