Plumbing reviews in Capitol Heights, Maryland

We have a services agreement with HomeServe through Dominion. After a recent snowstorm, we began taking water in our basement. We thought it was due to melting snow. After a few days, we noticed the basement walls were wet. After that, a small pool of water formed in our front yard. Now suspecting a water line leak, we called the HomeServe emergency hotline. They had a “contractor”, “PHI Group LLC”, AKA Paramount Plumbing, assigned to the job. A person from “PHI” arrived at our residence a few hours later. Unfortunately, that person was unable to locate the water shut off, which had been clearly marked by the water company. Then he said that our concrete front walk and perhaps porch would have to be broken up to locate the leak in the line and he would have to have an “excavation crew” come to do that work. I was assured that an appropriate crew would be there that afternoon. Late that afternoon, no crew arrived. I called the contractor. They told me that they were working on it. Then they said that they would have someone out within four days. Meanwhile, we were underwater and our sump was pumping full time to keep the basement somewhat dry. After a couple of days and two complaints to HomeServe, they finally assigned the project to another contractor. The new contractor’s owner called me to say that he understood our problem and assigned a person for the job who would be at our residence within four hours.
The new contractor was at our home 45 minutes after my conversation with the owner. He immediately located the area of the leak, shut the water off at the street connection the “PHI” contractor couldn’t find and dug down to the broken line. The line was repaired less than an hour after his arrival. There was no need for an “excavation crew” and no need for the walkway or porch to be disturbed. We did sustain considerable water damage due to the lack of responsiveness by PHI. We do not recommend “PHI” for water line repair. -
Homeserv sent Ansil out - he arrived promptly on time and expertly fixed the issue quickly with no additional or surprise charges. 5 stars!

I was connected to PHI Group LLC through my insurance to fix a back up affecting my kitchen and basement as well as an external issue. PHI sent Walter, who entered my home unprepared and with an attitude. When I began to explain the issue he exclaimed he did not come to “fix all of that”. He did not have a plunger and was upset I did not provide one. After leaving to get a plunger he returned with an even nastier attitude. After arguing with me over what was included in the service request, he decided to storm out and leave without fixing even one issue. I’ve since contacted my insurance company and PHI to make them aware of Walter’s unprofessionalism. I would not recommend using this company and especially not Walter.

They did a good job. Took a bit longer than I expected but that's ok.
-
The tech who responded out was rude and disrespectful in customer's house. Was asked to leave from the premises.

Absolutely very professional and courteous service. I fully recommend !
-
Not professional and not polite. Won’t tell you what caused blockage and no communication. Won’t use this service or recommend to anyone.

David Britton, David Britton, David Britton...this professional plumber represented the PHI Group LLC in exceptional fashion. His focus, attention to detail and most importantly his perserverance enabled him to complete a very tough job. Identified earlier by another company, this plumbing issue was to require construction (cutting into my walls and ripping up a finished floor). Mr Britton analyzed the situation with accuracy and precision. He patiently but dilligently ran over 25 feet of snake coil and cleared a 1 1/2" drain pipe. Saving hundreds of man hours, countless cost in tools and equipment, and my home owners insurance thousands of dollars in replacement and repair cost. It's professionals like Mr Britton that sustain trust and confidence in contracted workers and I am more than fortunate and blessed to have had him assigned to my home. Mr Devin Rose, you have an outstanding professional on your team and this is a reflection of your commitment to providing stellar service to the public. Thank you for your leadership and vision. Sincerely, Michael Lambert

I called the company to ask what time they were coming out to fix a leak and the receptionist did not ask for a name or address but told me a time. Which i found weird. About 5 minutes later, she calls back asking all these questions that she should've asked for the first time I called and she tells me that she used the name that popped up as my contact name. Then she asked me to call my insurance to send them a ticket that they were supposed to get, which I felt like it was her job to do, but I call them anyway. After calling the insurance, the receptionist calls again and we were going back and forth. She then tells me to watch how I am talking to her and that she wasn't going to go back and forth with me. As I was responding to her, she hung up on me. Very unprofessional.

Damien walked me through the whole leak issue and explained very detailed. I highly recommend. I like communication and that's what he did.

They left my mother with no toilet claiming they were going to get a part & never showed up. They left a senior citizen woman on Thanksgiving Eve with no toilet as she only has one. They left the toilet in a separate area so she can’t use the bathroom at all leaving her in a very unsafe & inhumane situation.

Worst plumbing company I have ever seen.
They do not complete the jobs In a timely manner. They do not keep their word on finishing the job. Will come late in the morning and not finish a job that could be finished in a day. Came back the next day really late in the afternoon and still didn't finish. They never communicate what time they will be back. The job is taking forever to finish. It's a real disaster! I highly DON'T recommend! -
PHI Group LLC did emergency repairs at my home to fix a blocked, damaged sewer drain line. They dug out and replaced the broken pipe. The crew did excellent work. Everyone on the crew was extremely nice. Highly recommended.

Giovanni was very professional, helpful, patient and timely. He resolved my tub drain issue and I will use this company in the future. I recommend Giovanni.

Poor customer service. I had a sprinkler pipe burst this past winter and was in need of a plumber as soon as possible. I found Paramount and decided to give them a call. They actually came out the same day to take a look at the issue. Found the crack in my pipe (by breaking my pipe in two pieces) and showed me the crack. Drained the valve and told me to call to set up an appointment to fix the pipe. I called and begged to have an appointment before a week had past. A technician came out, but there was still leakage, the technician plugs the pipe and tells me ‘it was just draining’ the technician also stated that ‘I know nothing about plumbing and that he’s been doing this for many years.’ Which is entirely true, I know nothing about plumbing but if I ask why there’s still leakage he should be able to explain it to me....respectfully. Paramount did not find the root of the problem in my opinion. My pipe is still leaking as I speak...almost a month later, in which Paramount refused to come back out to take a look until they received payment and then stated I would be charged for an additional analysis of the same issue. Needless to say I will not be using their services in the future.

We had a serious leak in our slab under our hot water heater. PHI Group worked diligently to remove the water heater, dig into the slab and fix the pipe, refill the cement and reinstall the water heater so that we had running water to our home. They got the job done much faster than I anticipated. We were very satisfied!
