Hired this company for a security gate system. Installer Dave Madden was unprofessional, condescending, and verbally aggressive. He billed items that were not needed and lied about warranty and guarantees. Should have read the fine print (figured there weren’t people out there that are that dishonest). Employees at the company stated “sounds like your talking about Dave” and “Dave doesn’t have the best people skills” “your not the first person that has said this”. The owner got back to me after calling in 5 times, and was kind on the phone. He just kept stating the fine print in the warranty, which was not what was promised to me. Offered to send my situation to another company, still have not heard back. Took all of our service somewhere else.

    Just fantastic. Highly Recommended.

They are mostly a commercial contractor, but they have at least one residential guy (Ludwin). We moved into a new TH in D.C. and wanted to convert 17 ceiling lights to LED wafers, so he had to remove the commercial-grade 4" fixtures that were spread throughout the bedroom floor. He also swapped a chandelier, installed a new fixture, replaced a switch, installed 2 outdoor flood lights 25' above the ground, diagnosed some wiring issues and provided an absolute ton of feedback on things we were thinking of doing. He's not a designer, but he's very friendly and gives you good feedback on ideas you talk to him about during his visit. He was fully engaged while he was at our house and was an open book with answering questions.

He was on-time, masked (stayed masked at his choice "to keep the multiple customers I see throughout the day from getting each other sick"), with his own shoe coverings that came on and off every time he went in or out, and respectful of the fact that we were working, too, while he was doing the installs. I can't find enough superlatives to rave about this company and this electrician - they really are first-class. He carried a dust pan and broom around with him the whole day and kept cleaning up after himself. If I could give six stars, I would. They're that good. I wish I could find something to balance this to make it more authentic, but there really isn't anything. Takes them a couple weeks to bill you, perhaps?

    Hire them with confidence.

If you’re going to hand out company vans, maybe also install turn signals - because based on the swerving in and out of lanes I witnessed, this one clearly didn’t come with any.

Overpriced. No respect for customers. Petty. Unresponsive. Unprofessional. Stay away.

Terrible experience. I contacted this company a year ago for a gate repair and they gave me a quote that was extremely high compared to others, so I chose not to use their service at that time. Fast forward to now — my gate needed another repair and the gate guys I worked with nicely were temporarily on vacation, so I called them. Three days went by with no response at all. When I called to follow up, they told me that because I didn’t use them last year, they wouldn’t come to my place this time.

They never bothered to inform me of this decision until I chased them. No apology, no professionalism.

I highly recommend Echo Electric for electrical work big and small. I’ve had them to my house a couple of times. One time was to diagnose a light switch that wasn’t controlling anything. I thought it was a bad connection somewhere behind the wall but it turned out to be a bad dimmer on a three-way circuit… tricky to diagnose. The second time was to install an exterior, dedicated, 20-amp receptacle for PHEV charging. The project began with a site visit by one of their experienced project managers, who took the time to assess my situation and discuss various options with me. Once we had a plan in place, his team executed the installation flawlessly. They even came back to replace the in-use cover when the first one didn’t fit over the charger plug, free of charge. There was a small mistake on my invoice but the office was happy to walk through things with me and correct the issue. I will definitely be calling them the next time somethings comes up.

Tiny, hidden storefront, but excellent electrical system planning and execution. (But who wants a big storefront?)

Beware. I used these guys because I like to support local businesses. They didn't show up for this morning's appointment which was to fix a smart dimmer switch that they ruined on their last trip.

We have used many electricians but none have the expertise and courteous manner of D&P, which also offers its services at very reasonable prices. We are particularly pleased with Bruce, who is one of the most competent and friendly individuals we have ever dealt with.

Dependable. Prompt. Quick. Knowledgeable. I could keep going but what you need to know is these guys get it done and done right! I have used them multiple times and often it was to fix what someone else had repaired. No reason to call anyone else ever again. Say hello to your last electrician!

I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly. Unfortunately, the technician broke a piece of electrical equipment that I had purchased while trying to install it. D and P electric refunded me the cost of the equipment (over $300) as well as refunded me the original service charge. Mistakes happen, that's life. D and P gets 5 stars from me for their responsive and professional customer service to make things right with the customer for the mistake.

We are a residential property management firm in DC, and have used D&P for more than 20 years.
Most of D&P's electricians have been with the company for a number of years, and some for as long as we've been using D&P.
I trust the work they do and, just as important, I trust them and gladly recommend them to friends and clients.
