Short version: A deeply frustrating experience with bad outcome.

Long version: I hired ’58 Foundation to address a chronically damp, low-lying area in my yard. In early August, they installed a “fix” that was really nothing more than an expensive underground water-storage system that not only failed to resolve the issue but actually made the wet area larger and more saturated.

I contacted the company within ten days of the initial installation. Despite that, it took three months—and an escalated email—to get someone back on site. Although leadership responded promptly once I escalated, the actual execution of a corrective plan was another matter entirely.

I was told that “S” would be the on-site supervisor for the entire day of the redo. At the last minute, “S” was reassigned, and “P” arrived instead. After walking the property with me, “P” assured me the issues would be addressed and we had an agreed-upon plan. Then “A” arrived, “P” talked to "A" and then left. When the crew showed up, “A” conveyed what “P” and I had discussed—and then “A” left as well. No site supervision and the "game of telephone" was in full action and the original message was fully off track.

Throughout the day, I texted “P” repeatedly because the crew was not following the agreed-upon plan. The crew insisted they were simply doing what they had been told, but what they were told bore no resemblance to the instructions “P” and I had discussed. Communication broke down at every stage, and no one on site seemed to have authority or want to take accountability.

Unsurprisingly, the “fix” did not work. The very next rainfall left the problem area larger, the lawn waterlogged, and the dry wells overflowing at the surface and draining back into the yard. The installation defied basic principles of drainage:
• Water does not drain uphill or on a neutral slope.
• The dry wells were supposed to be placed on the downhill side of the yard; instead, they were installed on level ground at the side yard.
• The dry wells were undersized, filled with drainage gravel, and incapable of handling runoff from both the yard and the downspout.
• The dry wells overflowed immediately, causing new washout issues and returning water to the problem area.

The amount of unnecessary back-and-forth, miscommunication, and resistance was astonishing—especially for a corrective visit. Had the crew simply followed the agreed-upon plan, the job could have been completed properly with far less effort.

Ultimately, we (as in property owners) spent the weekend digging a proper trench, installing drainage gravel, laying pipe with a fabric barrier, and repairing the sod ourselves. Now the water drains to the back of the yard where it finally has a downhill path.

’58 Foundations has many positive reviews, but our experience could not have been more different. Zero stars for failing to resolve the issue after two attempts and for leaving the client drained—emotionally, financially ... but not the yard.

Excellent Job! Fast reply on initial contact for estimate by David. Office Staff kept me updated on status of permit. The installing of Egress window with closure of two basement windows; Team was awesome. Cliff, Jose, Gus & Juan worked diligently in the cold windy weather and done a professional job. Great at talking, but horrible with follow through.
They were not able to justify the proposed work when questioned. The morning of the job, project manager 1 was not ready to do the work that was sold to me, & needed to check with the office. Then replacement project manager came in. About 30 min into the job, the team left. The office has zero care when you contact them about questions or rescheduling. When eventually connected to a superior, I explained that I would allow 58 to continue the work, if it was moved to another office. After checking, they stated that they couldn't make that work, so they would refund my deposit. They did not, so I had to contact my credit card.
Additionally, they stated that they would pick up the tools & materials that were left on my house but never showed up.

58 Foundations replaced the French drains in my basement. The agent, Nathan B., was very thorough in his inspection. He showed me a video of what would be done to correct my drainage issue. He was very detailed and positive in his description of what needed to happen and calmed my fears. Asbestos tiles were removed first for safety. The work crew was courteous and professional. They worked nonstop each day. When the job was completed, they cleaned up the inside and outside. I'm very pleased knowing the water will flow to my sump pump freely. No more mold!!! The new dehumidifier was placed in the ceiling with a hose running down to the sump pump. Even Amber, who scheduled and answered questions from their office, was always pleasant and courteous.
I have only kudos for this company. After watching their commercial, i truly believe God sent them to me. Thank you, 58 Foundations for a job well done!!!

Had 3 companies come out and provide a quote for a main beam replacement and encapsulation on my Crawlspace. Besides being the cheapest, they provided the most detail and had the biggest scope of all companies. They made the while process very easy and even though install took 2 days longer than originally quoted it was worth it. No corners were cut and personally, im glad they didnt rush through the job. Would recommend all every day and twice on sunday for any foundation issues.

The team was really helpful and sorted out our problem. Just finished with a follow up at no extra charge. Working with Sheldon Green, He spotted some extra ways we could improve the dryness in our crawl space beyond what we originally planned without charging us. Thankful for the whole team, so we can feel confident that our home investment will last a long time.

Had a leak in my basement. Called 58 for an inspection. The inspector, Mr. Betz arrived at the scheduled time and did a thorough inspection, explained my options and gave me several solutions that 58 could do to solve my problem. The installers arrived and did an excellent job. They sealed off the work area so the dust was confined. The head installer, I believe his name was Cayenne, walked me through what they were going to do and asked if that was my understanding from what the inspector said. It’s only been a couple of days and hasn’t rained yet, but from looking at the job they performed I believe I will not have any more problems. If I have any issues they guaranteed they would come out and rectify any issues. Thank you for the fine work. See attached pictures and video.

We’ve been putting off waterproofing our basement and re-encapsulating our crawl space for a few years. We decided to move forward after receiving a very reasonable estimate from Lon.
The team led by Wilson P. did a great job. We were completing this project right before Christmas so we were concerned about dust getting through the house and getting it done on time. Wilson, Bryan, and Deion were very considerate, timely, and worked hard to get everything done on time and as promised.

In April, I contacted 58 Foundation to address a corner of my detached garage that had settled. They promptly responded and provided an initial estimate within days of my initial phone call. Jimmy Reyes, the salesperson, was professional and offered a quote for lifting and leveling the corner, as well as parging the damaged part of the foundation wall. I signed the contract, and the work began within a couple of weeks.

However, the work was sloppily done. A large hole was left on the outside corner of the garage, filled with concrete that they didn’t even bother to cover with dirt, which I eventually had to do myself. Additionally, they used uncut shims to prop up the wood beam and failed to parge the damaged part of the corner of the garage foundation wall.

Within a week of the work being completed, the corner settled again, pushing the trim out at the bottom of the garage door. I called 58 Foundation to address this issue, but they took several weeks for someone to come out and inspect it. Initially, they sent another worker who said the work wasn’t done correctly and they would need to dig down and redo, but he couldn’t do anything that day and rescheduled. After several more weeks, they sent another supervisor who also expressed dissatisfaction with the work. Finally, a couple of weeks later, they arrived to fix the issue. This time, they managed to lift the corner to realign the trim, but they still couldn’t trim the shims they used on the wood beam because they said there wasn’t a tool for that.

Unfortunately, this time, instead of parging the damaged part as discussed previously, they poured a big concrete corner curb on the outside of the garage without even removing the wood concrete frame. This changed the grading and failed inspection when I was trying to sell the house. It’s been weeks and weeks of trying to get them to come out, and my emails has not been responded to. Meanwhile, when I called them, they assured me they would get back to me and never did. This issue is ongoing, and I will be filing a complaint with MHIC.

58 Foundations did a great job on my house. They were in and out quickly, worked efficiently, and cleaned up extremely well. Everything was left just as they found it. They installed the drain and exterior pump, handled water disposal cleanly and effectively, and made the whole process quick and easy. Solid work from start to finish—highly recommend.

Sheldon Green was very courteous and professional. He addressed the issues I had with the outdoor sump pump and Took a look at our existing indoor sump pump and recognize that we needed a new battery backup. He gave excellence suggestions to mitigate flooding in the basement. He discussed other services 58 foundations may provide.

Thank you 58 for standing behind and honoring your reputation of guaranteed results. We had a problem during the first install. Getting to the right person at 58 took persistent effort but once Rocky was on the scene, reviewed and approved the redo, we were back on track. The crew of Cliff, Jose, Roger, Gustavo and Eduardo worked two long days in the searing heat to create a positive drain field so rain water would discharge away from the home’s foundation. They were professional in every way, kind and neatly organized. I recommend 58 Foundations above all others - guaranteed results is peace of mind.

Andre came to our home for annual crawlspace inspection and dehumidifier service. He assured us that there was no evidence of mold or mildew and that the dehumidifier was in good shape and working appropriately. Great guy. Quiet and self assured. Went about a dirty job without a complaint. Would be happy to have him in our home again.

After noticing unusual cracks and separations in walls of my house, I contacted several foundation companies but only 58 Foundations diagnosed the problem, develop a sensible solution. They did all the leg work for me - applying for permits and third party inspection. The waterfall stone island in my kitchen proved to be too heavy and needed to be support from beneath. Columns and support beam were installed in the basement directly beneath the island restored the structural integrity of my home. I am very grateful to 58 Foundations and will keep them on speed dial for any additional foundation and waterproofing needs.

I tried to watch all phases of the job. The crew was pretty thorough as I watched the methods they used. I was very pleased with the finished product except for two issues:
1. Didn't leave or show me the instructions to clean mold machine filter! ( minor problem)
2. Didn't care for the finishing in extra crawl space. they explained it was due to foam insulation that was already their but I believe finishing tape could have covered.
Other than those two issues the job was professionally done and has a 30 year warranty and that says a lot!
I would still refer them to friends and family!

First of all, there was very good communication both from the office and from the contractor or Foreman Cliff they let me know exactly when they were coming and they surveyed the situation and repaired the cracking to my satisfaction and also sealed the exterior sides

Cliff and his helpers were very thorough and quiet generating much less noise than I anticipated and very polite. the whole project was less than five hours of time maybe a little over four and everything was clean when they left taking care to seal off their work area with plastic sheeting so no dust could escape. Overall, I would highly recommend this company for your foundation repair work
