Joel Group 50 serviced my property on Oct 2, 2025. Trimming 5 Cypress Trees, 4 Pine trees a Dogwood and a very large Pear Tree. The crew arrive a half hour early and was ready to work. Overall they did a great job cutting, trimming and shaping. They made recommendations in light of our wishes and we were left satisfied.
An addendum to my post: the crew damaged one of the poles of my deck and did not tell me. When I discovered before they left they had an office personnel call me and offer me $100 discount on my bill as repayment for repairs, which I agreed. That is why they could not earn 5 stars. Subsequently the General Manager called and said they would fix the damage pole on the deck anyway along with the discount. However, that promise never materialized! Thus the 4 star is really a 3 star until they keep their word.

I had a great customer experience with Maryland Tree Experts! I had been delaying the removal of overarching trees and large limbs over my roof for years and I finally decided to take action. I received a flyer from Maryland Tree Experts in my mailbox and called that same day. It was a top notch experience at every touch point, starting with Janet, who was cheery and helpful with setting up an in-person estimate. The Sales Rep, Jose (JQ) was knowledgeable and professional and took his time, never rushed me to a close. Before he even arrived, he gave me a courtesy call with his ETA. I appreciated his patience throughout our appointment. It never felt high pressure. It felt collaborative. He listened. I like how he explained the pricing structure, it is straightforward and fair and made for an easy decision! What Jose said his team would deliver-they delivered on, the very next day! They were on time and went right to work….it was amazing to watch. The crew took great care to make sure nothing damaged my home or surrounding spaces…and cleaned up afterwards including blowing my leaves. A special shout out to Freddie who was on the ground with the crew. He was respectful and easy to work with when I had questions or requests. He would check in with me while the work was ongoing to make sure I was satisfied. VERIFY THEY HAVE INSURANCE. We received a mailer for their specials in our mailbox. They were easy to reach on the phone and the estimator came out rather quickly. We received our estimate and were prepared to accept it. But we needed proof of GL and WC insurance. Well this never happened. They wanted to book the visit and perform the work ASAP but didn't have the insurance just yet. They stated that was because they switched insurance companies and didn't have everything set up, but don't worry we will send it over. After asking for about a week, we finally received proof of General Liability Insurance but no proof of Workers Comp. There is no way a company will perform work on our property without proof of General Liability and Workers Comp insurance. They are operating illegally. I am perplexed how a Tree company cannot or does not have insurance. During this period we could tell something was amiss. We were ghosted on the phone, by text, and emails. We had over $3000 worth of work to be done and they couldn't offer proof of insurance. Please use caution if working with this company. Our negative review seems to be similar to others posted herein. It seems they are either great or horrible. In fairness maybe they are great, they just are not insured. But nothing on their brochure states "insured" so maybe they just wing it and hope nobody notices.
