House Cleaning reviews in Millersville, Maryland
-
Gutter Helmet is the only option in my HOA, and I had the installation years ago when gutter cleaning became impossible. The lifetime warranty is terrific, and Chris Lenart of Lednor Home Solutions is tops. In addition to sharing what he inspected and what he fixed, he provided additional valuable information to help this homeowner conduct maintenance to avoid future problems.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Lednor Home Solutions and couldn't be more satisfied with the service we received. Chris Kramer did an excellent job explaining the benefits of the product, making the decision process easy and stress-free. The installation team was outstanding—they worked quickly, efficiently, and went above and beyond by cleaning out our gutters before installing the gutter helmet system. We highly recommend Lednor Home Solutions for their professionalism and exceptional service!

We have the Gutter Helmet Gutter System and called Gutter Helmet to replace our roof. The workmen carefully removed our Gutter Helmet system, removed and replaced our roof. They cleaned up the entire area around our home, including the driveway, and removed every speck of debris. We were immediately contacted to schedule the re-installation of our Gutter Helmet gutter system. The workmanship is exceptional, the roof is beautiful, everyone was professional and courteous, and we couldn't be happier with our new roof and Gutter Helmet system. I would recommend Lednor Home Solutions to anyone who wants a roof of exceptional quality, beauty and dependability with a great warranty at a competitive price. Kudos for a job well done!

I had gutter helmet installed and have to get my gutters cleaned twice a year or else I get water in my house. They are suppose to come and clean your gutters for $50 but have tried over and over to schedule an appointment. No one answers the phone or calls you back or emails you back. They took my $50 but never showed up and now I can’t get my money back. Do not use this company. Terrible customer service.

Lednor staff arrived on time, explained how my new gutters would be installed and completed the installation proficiently and professionally. They left my home with no mess! They were great to do business with.

We have had the Gutter Helmet system well over 15 years. Initially they were very responsive and yearly service/maintanance was completed timely....
But...today it has been 3 weeks since we first spoke to anyone in their office about an issue we have. We constantly get a record message that says they will call back, leave messages and NO ONE CALLS. The two times we actually spoke to someone the 1st said the manager would call back in 24 hours and the 2nd last week said she was referring it up and expediting it & will hear from a supervisor in 24-48 hours. To this date we have NOT RECEIVED ANY CALLS BACK or any other form of communication. We have been calling 2-3 days and only to get the same recording on both the sales & service numbers where we leave messages repeatedly!
At this point, I would be very cautious/leery and wonder about their commitment to existing customers & any of their guarantees and promises they make. -
Simply, among guards that can be used to protect roof gutter systems, GUTTER HELMET has the best design and the best warranty. Installation was quick. It works perfectly to protect roof gutters on homes that have SOLAR PANELS ... which are slick compared to asphalt shingles. These are the perfect solution against snow avalanches!

Harry Helmet installed Gutter Helmet on our existing gutters. The process was smooth and easy from start to finish. The sales representative was very professional and informative all through the process. The installation team showed up on time on the scheduled day and they too were very professional. Other than the fact that the helmets had been installed, one would never know the installation team had been there. There was absolutely no debris left behind.
We had a heavy rain days after the installation and the helmets performed exactly as we expected. It has only been a week since the installation, but so far we are very pleased with the product.
I would not hesitate to recommend this company to friends or family. -
We have had Gutter Helmet & Lednor install our GH system (2013), a new roof (2019), and our gutters & downspouts. We will continue to use their products & services.

Our experience from the start to end of project as less than 2 weeks to have Gutter Helmet installed. They do work as advertised, very impressed. No more clogged gutters. Rain from tropical storm DEBBY is flowing from the roof to the gutter down spots with ease. No over flow water with the gutters happening now. No more leaves in the gutters...
Thank you Harry's Helmet!, LEDNOR Home Solutions. -
Outstanding experience from point of sale to delivery. Great experience and great product. Installation was quick and I haven’t experienced any issues with the product.

I had Gutter Helmet installed in 2019. The system clogged in 2023 and was overflowing. They came out and cleaned the system after it clogged (which wasn't supposed to happen at all according to all of their marketing claims). I was then told that I could receive a complimentary yearly cleaning that I should have done after to ensure the continued performance of the system.
Called to schedule a cleaning today and was told there is a new policy that there will be a $50 charge to get a technician out for ANY reason, including things covered by warranty (so if they were clogged again and I had another issue). That's not what I signed up for in 2019 when I had this installed.
Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. They change their contractual terms AFTER you get it installed. I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. -
I recently needed to replace one section of a Gutter Helmet system originally added in about 2009. The estimate and initial review were clearly explained, and the subsequent installation was done with great efficiency. The new section was tested soon thereafter by a heavy rain and worked well.

I have had gutter helmets for over 15 years. They constantly need service which is almost impossible to get. I have been trying to get my gutter helmets serviced for the past 10 months. The phone stays busy and when you make an appointment via the website nothing happens. The so called lifetime warranty has expired, I guess because there’s no one available to service the product. I strongly suggest that you look at other companies with better customer service.

I had Gutter Helmet installed years ago but the gutters keep getting clogged. They came and failed to fix it. I left a message. They did not call back. I called and they said I needed to wait for someone to call back. I called a few days later and was given another number for existing customers, which has a constant busy tone. This is terrible customer service!

We just had a new awning installed on our back deck by Lednor Home Solutions a subsidiary of Gutter Helmet. We could not be more pleased by the quality of the awning and its installation. After the installation, we realized that we needed a lower awning pitch to keep out the afternoon sun. Mike Bell from Lednor Home Solutions was very responsive and his installation crew, Casey Scott and Andrew Cucina, came back and made the necessary adjustments. These guys were great and their focus on detail and service was impressive. Every step of the way from deciding on the specifics of the awning with Mike Bell and the subsequent installation went perfectly.

No more large pine needles clogging my gutters. They just flow right off. Installation was quick and easy. They installers were done in a couple of hours.

I purchased the Gutter Helmet system for my home in 2024, expecting a maintenance-free solution as advertised. However, the reality has been far from satisfactory. For months, I've been trying to schedule a maintenance visit to check the gutters, but the sales representative was completely unresponsive. When I call the customer service number, I'm met with an automated AI system that offers no option to speak with a real person. Additionally, emails to their customer support go unanswered for weeks at a time. When a response is finally received, it's often a vague promise that "someone will reach out in 5 weeks," but no one ever does.
This lack of communication and support is unacceptable, especially for a product that was marketed as a hassle-free solution. I regret choosing Gutter Helmet by Lednor Home Solutions and would not recommend them to anyone seeking reliable customer service. -
We have had gutter helmet since 2008. We were told there was a lifetime warranty and that they would come out and clean them if they ever clog. The company advertised that, with their product you’d never have to clean your gutters again. Over the years they have had to come out yearly because our gutters clog. I called to schedule a cleaning today and was told there is now a $50 warranty assessment fee that was to be paid up front that the company started requiring last August. We have never had a fee. Cleaning them was part of the warranty. They are not holding up to their end of the contract in expecting more money to just show up and do what was promised.
Our contract states,” Manufacturer registered lifetime material and performance warranty upon receipt of final payment.” This is an obvious “performance” issue when the water is flowing over the gutters like a waterfall during heavy rain.
Gutter helmet needs to reassess their decision to tack on extra charges because their product fails over time if not cleaned out. Back your product and warranty!
Update* I haven’t received the call from Gutter Helmet they mentioned in their response. 8/02 still no follow up from Gutter Helmet. Just took a video during a storm of the waterfall over my porch roof. Obviously it’s failing. Wish I could post the video here for all to see. In the past, they came out and cleaned everything so this would stop. It was supposed to be a free lifetime service. Now they want to charge just to come out. We paid a lot of money for something that was supposed to come with a lifetime warranty. No extra charges were ever mentioned or expected until recently. -
Another update: Crew just came out to clean. These guys were great; friendly and professional. Sometimes it's a contract crew that are less than professional. The two today are direct Lednor employees and it's obvious they care or are just genuine good guys. Giving them another star for the positive experience.
Update: Received response from owner that this has been addressed. It must have been an internal memo because they never contacted me about it. I highly discourage anyone from using this company.
Two free cleanings now cost $100 a year.
The home I purchased had Gutter Helmet installed so the neighbor who also had it suggested I transfer ownership to my name. I paid, had them replace a panel, all was seemingly well for about 7 years. Every winter, I noted the homes with gutter helmet had ice dams forming from the gutters while the others did not. Granted, some of them had trees growing out of their gutters, but in the winter they didn't have the 2 ft long icicles breaking off over their heads.
I took advantage of the 2 free cleanings a year, had them come out and fix an issue a previous cleaning had caused and he found 4" of muck in the gutters. Seems the previous years of cleanings they weren't really cleaning, just doing a sweep though to get loose leafs and that was about it. After this cleaning, all was well and I though winter wouldn't be so bad. Well, it's not winter yet and I've got serious overflow on the ends. To make matters worse, it's no longer two free cleanings a year - $50 just to get on the schedule.
Last summer, a tree fell on my roof so I called them to get on the schedule to assess the damage once the tree was removed. I let them know the tree was scheduled to be removed in 2 weeks, but they sent someone out anyway. He looked from the ground and said the gutter and the helmet needed replaced - without ever going on the roof (three stories with elevated ceilings). I'm thinking to myself, he's an expert, he knows what he's talking about. Well, the tree removal company comes out, removes the tree and he proceeds to tell me how amazed he is that there is no damage at all to the roof or the gutter and only a slight dent in the helmet. He said I was very lucky. I had the insurance company come out and verify, he said the same thing. I called Gutter Helmet and told them what the tree and insurance people said (one of the panels is dented, might want to replace it), they sent their guy out to cancel the contract, no reference to the dented panel.
So now, I'm sitting here looking out the window in a rainstorm, watching my own personal waterfall and thinking it would probably be safer, easier, and less irritating to just have these things removed. -
Gutter Helmet, Montgomery County Maryland:
UPDATE: 07/29/2023, One month later, and NO contact from the company as they stated in their reply. Must be one hell of an “investigation” they are conducting. More evidence they only care about getting your thousands of dollars up front and could not care less about service/maintenance thereafter. BUYERS BEWARE!!
Poor performing product, unprofessional servicing after the sale. We’ve owned GH for over 10 years. 1) Anytime it snows enough to accumulate on the roof then melts and refreezes overnight we get icicles up to 3 feet long hanging down the length of the gutters. The first time this happened I called the company and they said that was normal and that it’s evidence we weren’t experiencing ice damming. The small space between the GH and the gutter becomes covered in ice, thereby preventing water from entering the gutter. Makes a slick, unsafe mess on our front porch and back door landing. Brilliant engineering. Anytime I see a house with icicles hanging off the gutters, I know they have been afflicted with the same product. 2) If you ever need a new roof, the product needs to be removed and reattached by GH. Our rambler, 90 total feet of gutters, would cost over $800 for this “service.” 3) Dirt and debris build up over time on the metal ridges requiring cleaning. The small space where the water is supposed to enter the gutter becomes blocked so be prepared for ongoing maintenance. (There are several informative videos on GH failures on YouTube by the way.) If I had known all these points of failure, I would never have wasted money purchasing it. Way more cost effective to hire someone to clean the gutters when needed.
On June 9th I had an appointment with the Quality Control Manager, Chris Lenhart. He gave me a verbal estimate of $280 to remove the product only and $850 to remove and replace. I called him later that day to request removal only (as I’m tired of dealing with this mess) and left a voicemail. Didn’t hear from him by the 12th when I called back and his out of office message said he would be back on the 19th and would return all messages. He never called back on the 19th, so I left a 2nd message on the 20th. No call back but I did manage to reach him the next day when he said I needed to sign the contract he emailed on the 9th. I advised we never received the email and he said he would send that night. Note he never said he would be sending an email with a contract when we met. To date we have not received the contract. Lenhart has ignored follow up texts and emails. Very unprofessional. If they don’t want my business, just say so but to never respond shows a lack of integrity. Interesting read of the Better Business Bureau complaints.
Bottom line, avoid Gutter Helmet. There are other options out there, or as one pro told me, the best gutter cover is NO gutter cover. They earned a Zero-star rating but that isn’t allowed. See photo for junk before I visited the scrap yard. 2 star rating on Yelp.
