Construction Company reviews in Silver Spring, Maryland

A great company and excellent work

These guys do everything and do it well. We had them finish our attic, repoint our house, paint, do landscaping. They are more expensive now that they are established, but still a very good value.

The Bonillas are a favorite in my neighborhood. After my father's death, I had my house totally renovated. I gave the Bonillas free reign to do what they wanted but I picked out the colors. My home was so beautiful that I could hardly believe my eyes. Then I had Miquel make raised beds, a meditation center in the back yard and a corral for the trash cans. He even made stairs up the hill to the water outlet. My husband retired from the trades and he said the price presented was exactly correct. He even told me to the penny what they would charge me so they were not overcharging. Undercharging would mean cheap products.

I have relied on Bonilla construction for more than a decade for everything from major remissions to small homes tasks and they always do an excellent job! In addition to their great work, they are easy to work with. They communicate well, discuss all options, and keep you updated on their progress. I highly recommend working with this family- owned business.

Bonilla Construction did an outstanding job on our basement renovation! They completed the project on time and within our budget, which we really appreciated. The crew kept the jobsite clean and were always respectful. We’re thrilled with the final result and would highly recommend them!

Bonilla Construction LLC exceeded all of our expectations! From start to finish, their team was incredibly professional, reliable, and trustworthy. They remodeled our kitchen, and not only was the project completed on time, but the quality of the work was absolutely immaculate. Every detail was handled with care and precision, leaving us with a stunning kitchen that we couldn’t be happier with.

In addition to the kitchen remodel, they also completed some painting and masonry work as part of the project, and the results were equally impressive. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly set them apart. We highly recommend Bonilla Construction for any remodeling, painting, or masonry work you need. They are a company you can trust to deliver exceptional results!

Edwin, Miguel and the rest of the crew were wonderful to work with. They are meticulous, courteous, prompt and have a strong sense of pride in their work. They renovated our garage, "hardscaped" our yard and fixed problems with our leaky basement, all within budget and on a faster pace/timeline than we expected. Couldn't be happier and highly recommend them!

We hired Bonilla Construction to convert a detached garage into an apartment. They did an excellent job, which even impressed county inspectors. It was a big project, but in the end we had a well built, independent apartment to rent out. One thing I appreciated was there were no surprises on cost; they stuck to their estimate. While waiting for the many permits required to build in our historic district, we had them work on a few side projects — including shoring up a corner of our house’s foundation. All the projects were well done and the costs were as estimated. I would recommend this company for your construction projects.

I have known the Bonillas for many years, and have appreciated and admired their high quality and professional work. I attached photos of their kitchen / dining room / powder room remodel. This project attests to their flexibility and creativity, and was fun to bounce ideas off their experience as the design and build evolved. They have also done an entire basement apartment installation, exterior hardscaping, and numerous smaller improvements for me. They are friendly and highly committed to excellence. 5 stars is not enough for Miguel, Edwin and their service.

Barclay construction removed my old deck and replaced it with a new one. They took their time and did a beautiful job that exceeded my expectations. The Barclay team are true craftsman and as a added bonus, they are great guitarist! Thanks guys for a great experience.

Dave and crew are honest, hard-working, and scrupulously fair. They do great work for a competitive price, and I will hire them again and again. They replaced termite damage and old siding on an add-on to my house, and never once tried to inflate costs or cut corners. They kept me updated at every step, and worked hard to finish it quickly as possible. The result is simply outstanding looking siding on a fully repaired structure. They even went the extra mile to clean up the yard afterwards, metal detector and all. Plus, Dave spotted some roof damage occurring from an overhanging tree, and the arborist he recommended did an outstanding job for HALF the lowest quote I got from three companies.

80 foot oak fell on our roof, cracked the center beam. We had trouble finding someone who would take the repair on until we were referred to Barclay. Dave came out on a Sunday to check it out and give us a very reasonable estimate. His carpenters figured out a tricky fix, and finished the job quickly. Very impressed with the quick response, quality of work, and professional response! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Barclay Construction remodeled a commercial space for me. They were professional, courteous and did great work for a good price. I am very pleased with the job they did and am thankful to have found a construction company like Barclay. Now a days it’s hit or miss. I will definitely work with Dave and his crew again on future projects.

Dave and his crew were great to work with as they were respectful, courteous, and nice. I had a long list of projects - new windows, doors, parging, attic work, and more. He worked with me on the timing of things to fit my schedule and providing quality work for a good value. He communicated the process really well, walking me through the steps and what to expect. Will definitely be using Barclay Construction again for a few other projects, including my upcoming kitchen renovation!

I was in need of some major renovations and maintenance work on the outside of my dental office, which is contained within a historic 1892 Victorian House in Gaithersburg. The project included replacing rotting posts, railing and decking on our front porch as well as work to our handicap ramp, driveway, windows, back deck and a whole host of miscellaneous projects. Dave Barclay and his crew were outstanding. They performed high quality work for a very fair price and value. Our project foreman and carpenter, Randy, was exceptional and a true craftsman. I can recommend Barclay Construction without hesitation.

As a new homeowner, I was desperate for a contractor who would provide competent, timely services at a reasonable price… and in Dave Barclay and Barclay Construction I found the trusted advisor, consummate professional, and hard working talented team that I was looking for! I contacted Dave after seeing the great work they did for the dentist over on Russell Ave. I told him I had a few small projects - some interior drywall work, a rotting back exterior stair in need of TLC, and a broken fence. Dave came out and had a look and offered an extremely fair price. They fit me in in a timely fashion and made me feel like my work was a priority. He also offered advice and suggestions on future projects without trying to press me into doing them now. The team that did the work were incredibly kind and professional and cleaned up after themselves. Communication was great before and throughout. Also, Dave is a really nice guy, in addition to delivering great work at a great price, which makes the whole experience so much better. I will be calling on Dave and the Barclay Construction team for years to come. Thank you!!!!!

Our experience with VT contractors was excellent! From the beginning the communication was spot on. Tino, the owner helped us pick out the best shingles within our budget. He took the time explaining the differences between the shingles, as well as the process of replacing the roof. He and his team worked efficiently and throughly, finishing the job ahead of schedule from the original estimate.

We had a great experience with this roofing company from start to finish. The team was professional, punctual, and very easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and made sure we felt confident in the work being done.

The quality of their workmanship was excellent, and they paid attention to every detail. The crew worked efficiently, kept the area clean, and completed the project on time as promised. Our new roof looks fantastic, and we’ve already noticed the difference.

What really stood out was their honesty and reliability — no surprises, just great service. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and skilled roofers.
