Proven honesty and competency! I had a new oven delivered today. The Home Depot technician told me that the oven did not work because a breaker NEEDED to be replaced, as he explained was based on the Error code that showed on the display (low power). I was told to call a electrician to replace the breaker. I found Hyman and chose him because of proven 51 years in business. I have never used them before so I was ONLY a potential new customer. Instead of immediately scheduling a visit, he told me they wanted to SAVE ME MONEY, if possible. With patience and care ON THE PHONE, he walked me through my breaker box and had me switch it twice, then back to my oven, and it worked! He even explained why the low power code initially appeared then disappeared...due to the smart system rebooting. I then baked my cookies! Another electrician would have come right out and at least charged me a service call visit minimum charge. We don't have many left like Hyman Electric, but I will now make his company my Electrician of choice!

When I purchased a new house, I knew going in that the electrical system needed a lot of work. I got quotes from several contractors, but Bill Hyman took the time to talk through all of the intricacies with me even before I signed a contract. I eventually contracted with Hyman Electric to do a heavy-up of our panel and meter. Hyman's team of Jeremy and Kevin did a great job; punctual, professional, and clean. I will continue to use Hyman for my electrical needs in the future,

William G. Hyman is the best! Bill takes great pride in his company and is incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. His team are similarly excellent, responding quickly with skill, professionalism, and friendliness. They tell it like it is and have deep integrity and talent. And very reasonably priced. By far the best electricians we have ever used! In fact, they were the best contractors we have ever worked with. We used Hyman Electrical to replace our service/breaker box, install several exterior outlets and repair another. They were on time, reasonably priced, and helped solve not one, but two separate issues we were having that were not part of their job and did it all in less than two days. Best. Electricians. Ever. Don't waste your time anywhere else.

Mr. Hyman and his employees did and exquisite job on correcting wiring that a previous contractor had touched without my permission. He and his employees are excellent at problem solving in a methodical fashion, conducting the work in a superiorly competent way that minimizes unnecessary destruction and always behave in professional manner.

As a veteran, not only do I particularly appreciate their professionalism, but also the work ethic of Mr. Hyman and his employees Jeremy and Kevin.

I was updated on arrival times frequently and my belongings and cleanliness were respected and protected.

Furthermore, I am a repeat customer with upgrades and new wiring in my home from the 1950s for the last fifteen, yes, 15 years!

Just bought an old house and Bill and his team were excellent in taking a look at all the electric and identifying jobs for us to consider in addition to a couple changes we wanted to make. They identified that our breaker box had some issues and expediently upgraded that to bring our amps into the 21st century. Throughout the whole process the prices were competitive and fair and the communication is the absolute best I’ve ever experienced. I always knew what was happening and what each step of the process was and timelines were spot on. Thanks to Bill and his team I never had any questions or unknowns. Highly recommend them and I will certainly use them for my electrical needs going forward.

I've worked with Bill, and now Bill, Jeremy and Kevin for all of my electrical needs for 41 years, since I bought this old house. They have a superlative record for expert service. And when people say, "I called Billy and Jeremy and Kevin were already in the area and were able to stop by and give me a quote," that is how fast it usually happens. Great experience! I emailed to request an estimate on upgrading my panel/service and installing circuits for a new HVAC system. Bill called me the same day to discuss. Jeremy and Kevin were already in the area and were able to stop by and give me a quote. They were very knowledgeable and professional. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company and service! I submitted an estimate inquiry online and Mr. Hyman called me directly the same day to discuss my needs and provide an estimate range. He was very communicative throughout the whole process, even with scheduling. I really appreciated not having to follow-up or "bug" him for a status. He was already one step ahead! His crew came out this morning and as another has mentioned in their review, the crew wore protective shoe covers in the house. Jeremy and Kevin got the work done exceptionally fast and left no mess behind. I will put Bill on my speed dial for any future electrical needs!

I learned about Hyman electrical via a positive review on our neighborhood list serve. I am preparing to have our 1957 home's attic re-insulated and thought it would be a good idea to get the electrical squared away beforehand. I'm sure glad I did. Jeremy and Kevin were super thorough and knowledgeable. They discovered a few fire hazards and a botched wiring job done by a local HVAC I had recently hired (never again). They completed the job the same day (I thought they would only provide an estimate and schedule a later appointment) and for a fraction of the cost that I had braced myself for. Very honest operation. They're my go-to electricians after today's experience.

Just finished up two projects in our older home with Bill and his team, and highly recommend. The team is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Bill was very easy to communicate with, both easy to reach and fast to reply. Very happy with the outcome of the electrical work and the service.

Bill Hyman is a rare gem in the construction industry. I called two electricians before reaching out to Bill and I’m glad I did. I live in a 2 unit building in DC, an area that is out of Hyman Electric’s service zone and usually referred out.

Still, knowing there was no check coming from spending his time helping me, Bill was able to save me what likely would have been at least a $200 service charge elsewhere, all in a 15 minute FaceTime call. And he was happy to do it.

Bill started by locating my property on the maps to cross reference with Pepco and verify there wasn’t a known outage in the area. He guided me through some new basic panel troubleshooting before directing me out front to check the outside meter connection. Ultimately, Bill was able to identify that the panels were incorrectly labeled and my account was associated with the other units Pepco account. This saved me so much time and so much stress.

I recommend Bill Hyman and Hyman Electric 100%. And hope to work with them for any future electrical needs.

We called Bill Hyman on Monday and they were at our home working Wednesday morning. My wife and I are having a fireplace built and needed some wires (coax and electrical) in a bulkhead rerouted to make room for the chimney. We also needed few receptacles relocated and terminated. Bill was extremely helpful and understood exactly what we needed to have happen and why. His team Kevin and Jeremy were on time, professional, and explained exactly what they were doing. We’re extremely pleased with the quality of work Hyman Electrical provided as well as the timeliness in which it was completed. We highly recommend using their services!

I called Bill in the afternoon and he had his crew here before noon the next day to install a new electrical outlet. Bill was in communication with me via text message to let me know when the team would arrive. When Jeremy and Vinny arrived they promptly put on shoe covers and were quite friendly. Once they assessed the project they got right to work and quickly finished. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism of the Bill and his crew. I would definitely use them again and recommend anyone else looking an electrical job use them.

I have used Hyman electric in the past and they are great. Had what I thought was an emergency today and another issue I wanted to diagnose. Turned out it wasn't an emergency. Bill diagnosed both issues over the phone and while I still need some service, it isn't a rush and we can take care of the issues later. Great guy!!!

Short window for performance of work - that very day. The electrician (Jerry) was professional, patient, informative and provided old school "great customer service" that was a blast from a customer oriented past. Used this company about 3 weeks ago and highly recommend them. This is an unsolicited review from

Outstanding work by Bill's crew. Absolutely recommend Bill and his crew. Called to get a quote about running low voltage wiring through the house (Ethernet). His crew showed up to provide a quote and were able to start that day. The two gentlemen were very clean around the house, knew what they were doing, and answered any questions I had for them - even ones that weren't related to the job. They insisted on running the wire near the ducting rather than go the easier route of going through the exterior walls, running the cable outside, and then back in to the basement. His team pulled wire through two stories, only creating 1 hole to be filled, and they added masonry line so that I could pull another line through the holes they made in the future without damaging the walls. They definitely have lots of experience and know what to do to make future jobs easier. Price was competitive with the other quotes I got . I provided material and terminated the cable ends, and they had no issue with that, so they're not gouging you on material prices. I had most the materials from other projects, so it made sense to try to use what I had. Will definitely give Bill and his team a call for my next electrical project.

I wish I'd found these guys earlier. I have an older (1948) house and was having some odd electrical issues. Bill returned my call quickly and spent quite some time on the phone discussing the issue even before sending his crew came out. Long story short, not surprisingly my legacy service was not adequate for modern electrical demands. Jeremy and Kevin were great - they were timely, worked quickly, and explained what they were doing and why I needed it done. Communication was great throughout; I was having other work done at the house and Bill worked directly with that contractor to coordinate, which made life much easier with me. Finally, Bill handled all the PEPCO and county inspection interactions and got it all done promptly. Highly recommend for workmanship, professionalism, responsiveness, and fair pricing.

I had an issue with a ceiling fan I had purchased and had installed by someone else. After many failed attempts I contacted Hyman Electric and Bill responded to my email almost immediately.
He sent 2 gentlemen the following day to my house. Jeremy and Kevin. Not only did they get my fan working properly the first time they changed the screws to the right length for me. The fan had the wrong size screws and could of fallen.
They were very friendly,fast and efficient.
I definitely would recommend Mr Bill Hyman and his guys for any electrical work you may need. They definitely know what they are doing. I look forward to using them again for upcoming home improvement projects.

We found Hyman Electric on Yelp because no one had a recommendation for a good electrician. Our older house had some "creative" wiring that caused outages. Hyman Electric came out immediately, found the issues and fixed the problem. Very fast and professional. We highly recommend Hyman Electric.
