I had a great experience with Off Limits repointing and replacing some brick on the wall of my 100 year old house. They were excellent in communication, workmanship and clean up.

Robert and Jerry did terrific work on three separate jobs for me - two repointed retaining walls and a repointed walkway/stairs with new handrails. The work was quickly scheduled, expertly done and they cleaned up nicely afterwards. I will absolutely use their services again and recommend them to anyone needing similar work done.

They are professional, do a great job, and clean the site at the end of each day. I had them redo a retaining wall and repoint my entire brick fence. They also replaced my patio fence, so they've been reliably working on my house for a couple of months. They are especially good about communicating with the neighbors to keep them updated on the activities.

Update:

Jerry’s team left two brick walls and did not remove but instead patched up the wall hiding them inside. Because the chimney was removed below I now have a free floating brick wall. This was not disclosed and was only uncovered when a separate contractor started repairs on our bathroom.

The tuckpointing is also crumbling in several places and despite a promise to come back to fix, six months later they have not done so.

Jerry was able to identify the source of a ceiling leak through our exterior brickwork (after another contracting company was unable to and completed an unnecessary “repair”.)

Jerry and team were able to seal up the necessary area and we’ve been water free for three months at this point! I appreciated their professionalism and speed that they were able to address our issue!

Off Limits repointed and repaired our decorative 6 foot high wall. The masons worked quickly and did an excellent job and the owners ensured that my property and my neighbors on either side were cleaned up (hosed down and first floor windows wiped clean. And new mulch in my front yard). Dealing with the owners Jerry and Robert - two brothers - was easy. They quickly return calls, emails, and texts. They use a formal online contracting system and include photos and details about what they will be doing which is very helpful. Their original estimate was quite high - double a second estimate that I obtained - but they came down dramatically in their price. They readily provided names and numbers of prior clients which was very helpful, and I was appreciative of those people’s time. (The competitor that I had gotten an estimate for never followed through on my request for names and numbers of prior clients). Off Limits did a quality job, and I enthusiastically recommend them.

I cannot recommend Jerry and his team enough. They were incredibly professional throughout the process. After every work day they cleaned up nicely. I received communication before, during, and after the project and above all they did a great job! 4 of my neighbors ended up hiring them after they finished redoing my retaining wall

The Off Limits Contractor crew did an amazing job repointing our 100-year-old four story brick townhouse. They also repaired parging, rebuilt brick walls, installed new bricks under windows, powerwashed, and performed exterior painting. They are very communicative throughout the entire process and quick as well. Lastly, they made sure the work area was clean afterwards. Hired off limits for basement masonry/repointing of a basement wall that had likely never been professionally repointed since being built over a hundred years ago. They did a great job. I would recommend them and hope to secure their services for another job. My only complaint was they are sometimes hard to reach specifically when attempting to hire their services; though they are very available once you have a contract. I assume that’s because they are in high demand, but it makes hiring them difficult.

Offlimits did solid work removing our deteriorating concrete steps and replacing them. They worked with us to incorporate drainage and adjusted plans around our needs and came back and fixed an issue when requested. While the completed the project over a few weeks between other projects, they did a nice job and we’d recommend them.

Off Limits re-did our front steps and walkway, removing old brick, covering with slate, revising steps, and repointing (working through tricky things encountered in an old Capitol Hill home). They did outstanding work, knew what they were doing and well thought through the plan. They are great to work with, professional and take the time to explain what they are doing, set expectations and respond to questions. I highly recommend Off Limits Contractors LLC.

If I could give more stars I would! We got tuckpointing done on our house, they were able to give an accurate estimate quickly, start the work quickly, and for the whole duration of the work they were so respectful. They always called to say when the work began and when they were finished for the day, kept us updated on how the project was going, etc. And our house looks beautiful, the work was great!Can’t recommend enough, and we’ll definitely be using them again for any future contracting needs!

We really appreciated the thorough work of Jerry and the team at Off Limits Contractors. Our WW2 era home needed tuckpointing around the side and back of the house, as well as work to shore up the foundation and keep water out of the basement.
