In the aftermath of a terrible storm, I was left with a fallen tree, downed power lines, a damaged vehicle, and significant damage to the exterior of my home. Feeling overwhelmed, I turned to God in prayer and asked Him to guide my next steps. I trusted He would lead me, and He did.

Initially, I was directed to a company, but they couldn’t come for an estimate for another week — and with live wires near my home, I knew I couldn’t wait. So I searched again and came across Schmidt’s Electrical. I had never heard of them before, but something in my spirit nudged me to call.

When I reached out, the owner, Erik, answered right away. He listened patiently to my situation and said he would come immediately. True to his word, he arrived quickly, assessed the situation, and gave me a fair and honest price. He was not only timely, but also kind, respectful, and professional — truly a blessing in a time of distress.

Erik told me he would gather what he needed and return shortly. Within a few hours, I had power again. The next morning, Pepco arrived and was surprised to see how much easier their job had been made. God had truly sent help right when I needed it most.

I had a terrible experience with this company. They charged me $175 for an estimate which they wrote from my home inspection rather than coming to the property, then refused to come and do any work so I could apply the $175 fee. I also received two verbal estimates for work over the phone, but when the written estimates arrived they were more than double the amount I had agreed to verbally. I contacted Eric but he did not care to fix any of this for me.

Had called for emergency service at one of my businesses. Came out and took multiple days to diagnose the issue. Never really communicated with me on what was wrong or what needed to be replaced. Kept getting charged for things I don’t even know because he never gave me a final invoice. Poor communication because I still don’t know what he charged me. He texted saying he will email me an invoice. It’s been almost a month and I still haven’t received my receipt. How do you charge more than $7,000 and not have the time to send a receipt or invoice??? Seems suspicious and likely that he charged me for things that didn’t need to be repaired because when I called a trusted local electrician, he got my store up and running within a matter of a few hours. He said he charged me $1200 for a part that I told him to hold off on till I receive a list of what was wrong. I feel like he charged me whatever since he saw a big business opportunity. Never using this company again. I have already submitted a formal complaint to the state.

I’ve tried for over 2 months to get one of their workers to come fix an issue they caused when installing a fan in July. They don’t respond to calls or texts often. When they do respond they promise to show up at specific times agreed upon by both parties then they don’t show up. This has happened numerous times. They can’t seem to get their act together. Don’t use them.
