Dan provided excellent communication and quick work. I plan on using Sundance on my projects going forward!

Great experience working with Sundance. They managed a complete remodel of the first floor. They communicated very well through the project and did truly quality work. They are great problem-solvers and we would happily work with them again in the future.

Sundance Construction has completed several projects on our house, ranging from a new front walkway and exterior door to a completely new kitchen. We continue to go back to them because of their quality work and reliability.

We've been happy clients of Sundance and Dan Benjamin for multiple projects, different houses and over many years... like maybe 10? Basement apartment renovations, electrical problems, remodels and just general can-you-fix-this stuff. Answer was always yes. Service and results excellent.

We had a terrific experience with Sundance and Lisa & Leroy, who worked closely and seamlessly together to design and build a significant renovation in our capital hill rowhome.

Dan and Sundance were exceptionally responsive, posting dozens or more photos of the progress every single day, updating us on every step of the process and willing to discuss and consider all of our crazy ideas, including radiant heat, wine storage, and redesigning the layout of our narrow home.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Dan and Sundance - they made every accomodation possible so we could stay in the home during the renovations (during COVID no less!), even though we completely gutted and renovated both bathrooms, HVAC, ducting, the entire first floor and our master bedroom. They were clean, consciencious, and just super pleasant every stage of the way.

Dan coordinated everything, was 100% on budget (any changes to the budget were formal change orders we requested), and made the process easy and straightforward. Pricing seems in retrospect to have been exceptionally fair, particularly things like the full copper roof installation.

The outcome and quality matched the process and we could not be happier.

These guys are amazing! Worth every penny. Job is always done on time, on budget, with clarity and good communication along the way. (If we go over budget, I always know exactly why!). I've worked with Sundance on at least 3 major projects (plus some minor ones) over the last 7 years or so, and they've all been great experiences!

Dan and company are amazing at navigating the very complicated permitting and inspection process in DC! After working with several others to no avail, we called Dan. His calm demeanor, patience to deal with DC hypocrisy, KNOWLEDGE, and ability to quickly find solutions and workarounds for our basement leak and repair were second to none. Even if you are on the fence as to what you need, give Dan a call. He talked us through several scenarios to get us the best solution possible.

Sundance is our go-to for just about anything we need to fix or upgrade in our home. Dan’s team always does fantastic work, no matter the size of the job. They are responsive, will take the time to explain what needs to be done and how they’re doing and they get things done on time. We’ve been going to Sundance since 2016 and all the work they’ve done is excellent.

We purchased our home from Dan after his company Sundance flipped it. The quality of work that they did is wonderful and feels very high end. After the purchase, Dan was still quick to respond to any questions we had about the property and even dug though old files to find specific information that we needed to purchase materials for a project. We would recommend Dan and Sundance to anyone looking for contracting services.

We live in an old DC row house and have been working with Dan for about 7 years. He is our first and only call for all home renovations big and small. The attention to detail and quality of work from his team is always better than we expected he even goes to great lengths to find out of production parts for our old house that I very much appreciate.

He is also just a genuinely very nice guy and pleasure to have in the house discussing project options. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Dan from Sundance Contracting! I ended up with a nightmare from a previous contractor, that took me forever to work through until I found Dan. The problems created involved plumbing, electrical/Pepco, serious masonry, etc. It was a complicated problem that several others would not even bid on! After hiring Sundance, I am finally over that problem which was solved in the simplest way possible!

I have since hired Dan for other interior remodeling and roof work. If you are looking for straightforward and steady communication and work, look no farther! Dan is a Capitol Hill rowhouse owner himself and knows that is what. He is great at working through all kinds of problems and communicating the options. He is efficient and straightforward to work with and fair in pricing! A breath of fresh air, really.

The Sundance team did a great job of removing some built-in furniture from one of my rooms.

We used Sundance Contracting to reconfigure living space and renovate a bathroom on Capitol Hill. Dan provided creative ideas to efficiently use available space and was very knowledgeable about working with an old house. Compared to other contractors used in the past, Sundance Contracting was much better at communicating and coordinating with us throughout the design, construction, and checklist phases. The quality of the renovation was excellent and we would definitely use them again in the future.

Sundance Contracting provided truly 5-star service for a large renovation project in our Shaw row house to prepare it for sale. We've worked with Dan numerous times over the past 15 years for projects big and small, so we knew we could trust him to deliver on this project. We met only once in person (we live out of the area) to review $80k worth of scope, but we knew we could rely on the frequency and detail of Dan's communication to keep us informed. We were thrilled with the results and the house sold in less than 2 weeks after Dan connected us with his trusted real estate agent.

I've worked with Dan at Sundance Contracting on several projects through the years and it's always a great experience. Dan is very knowledgable and shares his industry knowledge by providing insightful suggestions and direction when needed. He takes great care with each project and works to make it an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience working with Sundance Company.
The owner, Dan Benjamin, was extremely communicative throughout the project, from responding within 24-hours of my initial inquiry through each day on the job site. His honestly, overall knowledge and skill with construction projects was unmatched. Furthermore, because it was a smaller project, he charged me an hourly rate that he kept track of and communicated via email each day, even including photos. This helped me confirm that I was only being charged for the hours worked. His hourly rate was extremely fair and I appreciated his transparency.

Equally important, he’s a Capitol Hill resident! As a member of the Capitol Hill community, I value working with a neighbor and someone who is knowledgeable about the quirks of Capitol Hill homes.

Will absolutely work with Dan and his fabulous team at Sundance Contracting on future projects.

Miguel and his crew were absolutely wonderful! After we had major water damage, Miguel built new walls, installed new trim throughout, and painted beautifully, with much patience, as I determined the new color scheme. He also remodeled two new bathrooms, installed new kitchen flooring, and handled the electrical. He installed new exterior siding, new exterior stairs and built a great roof deck. The crew were punctual, courteous, and professional. I highly recommend this company for great value and commitment to quality.

Miguel did over $12,000 (labor) worth of renovations at my home in North Carolina, October 2024. That doesn’t include all the material, hotel stays or trash disposal. On onset it looked gorgeous. A couple days after they finished my duct vent screw came unloose. The hole cut for it was too big and it was hanging on by a thread. I informed him of the situation and he replied “Oops”. I asked what could we do to fix the problem to my surprise “no reply”. I wasn’t running my heat nor air at the moment. He comes off as an honest working man but he is flaw. My shower has cracks in the grout and it started a month or so after they finished. To no avail he lead me on as if he was sending a crew to fix it. Never happened. I’m a widower and I feel he preys on women some men too. He did some work for someone I know and they are having the same issues. I seen it myself. She too is a single individual. I paid him to move my vent from the floor to the ceiling. Worst and most costly mistake I could have entrusted him to do. It does not work. His work looks lovely but make sure you get your receipts as he will have you text payments to him. I can’t speak for everyone but he never gave me nor the other person a physical receipt. Watch them closely as they work. He’s a good talker. He also stated no one has had any problems before but I concur that was not the truth. Be careful going with this company!!!

TW Neighoff is the man. Best Super ever.

By far one of the worst construction companies in the country. I can hear every single sound my upstairs neighbor makes because of their build quality. Subpar quality on every item they installed. I’m still waiting for over two years on the company to correct a kitchen cabinet issue with no response or help in sight. Stay as far away from WCS as possible because they are by far the worst construction company in the region. Make sure you have a lawyer on speed dial when working with WCS.

We had an excellent experience working with Orlando and his team. They completely rebuilt our media center, including installing our logo, redesigning shelving, framing and closing an existing fireplace, and installing a modern electric fireplace. They also removed an old fireplace and built a stunning accent wall based on inspiration photos I provided, paying incredible attention to detail to ensure a uniform installation throughout. I really loved that they carefully protected every area they worked in—from furniture and floors to the staircase. After a previous flooring contractor failed to do this and left us with a major cleanup, this level of care meant a lot. I interviewed five different companies, and Orlando was not only the most competitively priced, but also the most accommodating and committed to delivering exactly what we envisioned. I shared inspiration images, and he and his crew brought everything to life. We’re already planning additional projects with them and highly recommend their work.
