We have been using Johnson for the last 2.5 years since we moved into our new home in Hingham. Ryan and his crew do a lot of work in our neighborhood and have been great to work with, as they are reliable (with weekly schedules), consistent (mostly the same crews), and easy to communicate (text/calling) with if I need something. We use Johnson for our weekly mowing, spring/fall cleanups, and mulching.

Johnson did a great job repairing and reseeding damage to my lawn from a truck. The final cost was less than originally quoted.
They also successfully treated the lawn for grub damage.
Extremely satisfied with their work.

Used Johnson’s services for many years since retirement. I am very fussy on my bushes and grass and weeds.
They always have the most trustworthy people at my home, which is important to me, they work hard, ring my doorbell asking if I have any instructions, like this summer I have the lawn cut higher due to heat and no rain.
The office manager Rose always answers the phone and communicates my thoughts to the workers. Top notch Rose. And they always show up. Rob a manager does special jobs, and clearly knows his business with lawns, bushes, weeds, grubs etc. Which I think is rare. And Ryan the manager is unusually accessible, works hard, and ensures the work on my home is perfect. And due to him many of his workers are long time employees which is impressive. I want to know and trust the person working on my property. Lastly, Steve the owner created this and reflects on all this good.

Most of these landscape firms I think are good. Their guys work very hard. But I, knowing my outside and how to take care of it (3 acres), Johnson in my opinion is EXCEPTIONALLY EXCELLENT.

These people are so careless. They come by and blow your leaves into other people’s yards, they have zero care in the world about doing this. Multiple times now I’ve cleaned my yard, and then those guys come to my neighbors and I have leaves all over. My driveway is now covered. They pay no attention nor do they care…which is fine because as soon as they’re gone I’m going to get MY leaf blower out and blow them allllll back over to where they came from. Next time you should consider removing the leaves, not blowing them over to the customers neighbors yard. This has happened more than once. If I go out there and watch them and yell they are more careful. If they think I’m not watching they carelessly do this job as fast as possible to get to the next house. Messy job. They don’t even get the yard they’re working on looking good. I do a better and more thorough job and I am a 45 year old woman doing it alone.

They did wonderful work in our yard and they were so friendly and reliable! Highly recommend!

During a neighbor’s fall cleanup job they were blowing leaves and other debris into other peoples yards and making a mess without care. When asked if they would cleanup what they created they were dismissive and of no help. Would not hire this company unless you plan on upsetting your neighbors and those around in your neighborhood.

I called two times, went also to the store, spoke with one of the owners, we agreed that they will come to my house and give me a price for lawn maintenance, It's been 3 weeks and I am still waiting. Very unprofessional

I would like to give this company 10 stars!!! My yard was a total mess. I can’t believe the absolute beautiful job that these incredible workers performed. They went above and beyond my expectations. Anthony and his crew are professional and very hard workers. I can’t say enough about how pleased I am.

I just had the fall cleanup done. I usually rake the leaves and do it all myself, but this year I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Just came home to a spotless yard. Looks great and well worth it. What would have taken me several weekends done in a few hours. These guys are hardworking and do a fantastic job. Thanks so much!!

Disorganized with poor communication, service, and attitude! We hired them for a spring clean up and mulching in April. It was a total disaster.

First, it took me many calls to schedule. Then the team arrived without knowing the full scope of work and had to go back to grab proper tools. The team told me it should be a half day job after I explained what's needed to be done based on the quote, but they dragged it all the way to almost 8pm. It was dark so they were scrambling and didn't complete the job. They didn't trim back the branch away from the tree and did not remove the dead shrubs. My husband and I had to finish up what they left over the weekend.

The original quote included cleaning up the area behind the shed but we communicated to the company prior to scheduling the service that it is no longer needed and we agreed on an adjusted price. The team spend half day cleaning it anyways, despite me telling them not to when they first arrived in the morning. I only found out this after it was done.

They also killed my lilac plant. I told them a few times that there were a few small shrubs needed to be removed and showed them exactly where they were. They didn't do it, and instead pulled out the tall lilac plant two feet away from these dead shrubs.

I was awaiting for a call or some sort of follow-up from the company but instead I got a statement a month later, with the price that includes the shed clean up that I didn't ask for. When I called back 2 days after getting the statement, I was told that I should have contacted them sooner, so at this point there was nothing else they can do. Had to argue over the phone and was told that they will take $100 off (which is less than half of the price of the shed area clean-up) and "we can go our separate ways."

Indeed, we will NEVER ever again do any business with this company!
