I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Mr. Handyman. When I was preparing to sell my house, I needed to repair a few storm windows and found them through a Google search. They sent someone to assess the situation, and he suggested that all we needed was some caulking and painting, which would take only two to three hours - this seemed reasonable to me. However, as the closing date approached, I was out of town on a business trip and called to confirm when they could start the work. They started making excuses, saying someone would come by sometime the following week. By the second week, I emphasized that the closing was just days away and the repairs needed to be completed urgently. The manager then left a voicemail saying that the job was too small to justify sending someone over, and unless we committed to at least 8 hours of work, they wouldn't take the job. This lack of commitment and integrity is incredibly disappointing, and I will never use their services again. Their customer service and staff are utterly untrustworthy.

I’m very disappointed with the service I received. Despite specifying over the phone that I had 13-foot ceilings and needed a tall ladder to change the curtain rods, the technician arrived unprepared with only a small ladder and couldn’t complete the job. I was still charged for the full hour. When I requested a refund or credit to finish the job, they didn’t respond or return. I expected better preparation and customer service, especially after providing clear details when I booked the appointment.

Returned my call the next morning and had someone out the same day. Dave was great. He knew exactly what to do and had the parts in his truck to fix our under cabinet rolling draws. Took him an hour. They work great. Highly recommended.

Absolutely flawless work. Fixed our front door, storm door, fawcet and bathroom fan.

Definitely recommend. Handyman fixed a couple corner cabinet hinges and closet doors that I’d been unable to fix - and in under two hours. Very happy with our fixed doors!

Have used Mr. Handyman of Greater Newton twice and am very satisfied. They are timely, efficient, knowledgeable, and skillful. What else do you need? A special shout out to Tom who not only fixed my sink but had to deal with my very friendly dog.

Mr. Handyman Competent, timely, and money well spent. Installed window shade and decorative ironwork .Replaced 2 outlets, tested all, inspected electrical room meter, recommended action to prevent another burn out surge (though could not straighten crookedly installed bedroom outlet). Purchase and installation of medicine cabinet, toilet seat, shower grab bar, custom cut closet shelves.

I had a disappointing experience with Mr. Handyman. The Handyman that they sent did not get a lot done while he was here and was unable to complete simple tasks. He was sloppy and did not clean up after himself. He spent a good deal of time standing around when he could have been working. He left work unfinished and other projects unaddressed, and then he never called us back about scheduling a time to finish the work. To top it off, we were charged $180 for materials, and all we saw the guy buy was a $12 can of paint. I called Mr. Handyman to ask about the materials charge, and the man I spoke with said he’d have to get back to me. He never did. I wrote them an email to say I was unhappy with their service (listing the reasons above), and they didn’t respond. I should mention, too, that their rates are very high. Overall, the whole ordeal was an extremely expensive experience, with little to show for it other than an unused can of paint that cost me $180.

Charlie was terrific/ efficient and nice! He did everything on my punch list with expertise.

Needed the cords on 2 old sash windows in Cambridge to be repaired. No one seems to know how how to do this anymore except for RICK the Handyman! Rick came on time, knew exactly what to do, was very careful about removing the wood panels and window, replaced the cords and put back the window and panel with minimal painting required. Looks perfect. He then fixed a railing on our porch which is now very secure and safe and then came back to fix one of the sliding screen doors, All done well and at a very reasonable price. His Mr Handyman van has every tool required to do all kind of repair and carpentry. The people who handle the appointments (Alyssa or Joe) are also very responsive and efficient. Very satisfied all around for the great craftsmanship, professionalism, service and nice people. 5 stars all around!

First of all, Tom came within planned the time frame, and even called us when he was traveling to our house, from his previous job (appreciate that). I have no idea if he had any experience replacing an extremely long door hinge, but he had it fixed within the hour.
We will have him replace the other door hinges, as soon as we receive them.

Tom installed 3 grab bars for me in the bathroom. Excellent, neat work. Was done in half the time quoted. He was a very nice man who knew exactly what he was doing. Very experienced. I am so happy with the work. Would not hesitate to use Mr. Handyman again. Five star and A+

I had work done last year that I was not super happy about. I moved into a new home and hired Mr. Handyman to install a shelf in my bedroom closet, shelves in my kitchen pantry and shelves in two bathroom closets. This was a basic job. We're talking those metal wire shelves that you buy at Home Depot. I was not impressed with who they sent and he was slower than molasses. I paid ~$1,000 (by the hour) for a full day, where someone with more experience would have shaved at least 2 hours off the total time. I thought the work was ok, but shelves were visibly not level and didn't look professionally done. I had asked for 4 shelves in my bathroom closet and he insisted on 3. I had to rip out the 3 shelves in the bathroom because it just looked silly. There were also some holes in my wall where he had to readjust where he was drilling and some of the support bars were installed upside down. Anyhow, I wasn't going to write a review - I was just not going to use their service again - but now my bedroom closet shelf is falling apart, some of the plastic supports are breaking, and you can see it's because where the shelves on each side come together it was never level. I'm going to have to immediately fix this unless I want a mess. I supplied all of the shelving materials, and was not happy that I spent so much on labor for a handyman and now I'm going to need fix yet another closet.

had repair work to porch stairs and arbor. Charlie was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and conscientious. The arbor repair in particular required skilled carpentry work to duplicate the complex construction of the arch, which he accomplished admirably. Very pleased with the results, and would request him again if needed in the future.

I’ve been a customer of Mr. Handyman for several years, and they always provide excellent service. Most recently, Charlie came out to install curtain rods, and he did a fantastic job—professional, efficient, and detail-oriented. I really appreciate having a team I can rely on for consistent, quality work. Highly recommend!

Update (9/23/25): Charlie was professional, attentive, and detail-oriented from start to finish. He installed my curtain rods last week and returned this week to make adjustments once I had the right curtains. Charlie is a reliable and skilled handyman, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Really appreciated the work Patrick and Mr. Handyman did replacing an old gutter. Getting an initial response for a quote took a bit longer than I would have liked, but once we scheduled the work everything went smoothly. Patrick did high quality work, and even came out twice to fix an issue with sealing that hadn’t dried. It was great to know I could trust them to make sure the job was done and I was happy.

UPDATE: Kevin from Mr. Handyman came today! He only had a minor task to do with a Kitchen hinge, but explore the freezer and found mold!! He cleaned it with Bleach and went above and beyond fixing other hinges, too!!! I highly recommend! Notice how well it the door got fixed!

Older good experience: I had a thermostat moved and it left some discoloration on the wall. Charlie from Mr. Handyman was AMAZING! I didn't have any paint. He went to a store and found THE PERFECT paint that matched the color of the wall. Now nobody can tell there was any work done on it. I can't recommend Charlie and Mr. Handyman enough! Thank you so much!!!

Very prompt, diligent, and efficient in what they do. Also very nice and respectful people. Would recommend to anyone who needs a handyman, especially in short notice.

I always turned to handyman for small jobs like installing my air conditioners and taking them out again. The guys are always so nice and I really appreciate them if they do they work fast they’re very efficient and very good.
