We had a fantastic experience working with J Gudiel Landscaping. From the beginning, their team was extremely diligent and communicative, keeping us updated every step of the way and always making sure our questions were answered promptly.

They were especially thoughtful in how they handled the front walkway, which had a challenging grade and water drainage situation. They took the time to do it right—ensuring it not only looked great and flowed seamlessly with our existing steps and driveway, but also that water would be directed to the proper areas.

We love our back patio as well and would highly recommend them.

J’s team was fairly priced and was almost immediately available to start work. He put in a large blue stone patio with fire pit and added gravel to parts of the yard that we no longer wanted grass in. He was carful when excavating and was sure not to damage buried downspouts. The great thing about J’s team is that they are able to make adjustments to the agreed upon plan without much production. Required amendments to the original plan were clearly communicated and justified. J even returned the following year to repair some stones that had settle over winter and to add more loam to part of the yard that did not get good grass growth. I recommend using J if you are looking for someone who can guide you through the process of hard scraping and creating a beautiful patio.

Recently had an area graded and leveled and a gravel pad with a timber frame installed for a future shed. After getting in touch with 6 contractors, getting stood up 4 times for estimates and finally hearing back from 2, I went with Gudiel as he seemed professional and his estimate was reasonable.
Jose was great, and although we had to reschedule a few times due to unforeseen circumstances his guys finished the job beautifully and quickly. When he ended up using less timbers than his estimate stated he discounted me the difference with no fuss. This was a great experience. I will definitely use Gudiel again.

I contracted with Jose for a large patio, outdoor kitchen and fire pit. He has a crew of very hard workers and they produce quality work. They were super reliable despite numerous weather-related challenges we faced with getting the job done over the winter months. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up each day, and upon completion. I was left with minimal repair despite having trucks and dozens of pallets on my lawn.

J. Gudiel did an amazing job on our pool project from the very first design conversation to the last paver in the deck. Jose listened to how we wanted to use the space (kids, entertaining, low-maintenance) and came back with a smart layout that maximized sun, privacy, and traffic flow. He provided a clear plan, material options, and an honest schedule so we knew exactly what to expect.

Design & Planning:
They helped us finalize the pool location, elevations, and drainage so water moves away from the house and coping. We chose Unilock pavers for the deck, and Jose walked us through patterns, borders, and color blends that would complement our home. Every detail from the soldier border to the coping profile was thought through.

Excavation & Pool Set:
The crew protected the yard, marked utilities, and excavated with precision. The pool was set dead-level, plumbing was pressure tested, and backfill was done with clean stone for stability. Inspections were scheduled on time, and licensed trades were coordinated for electrical and equipment hookups without us having to chase anyone.

Paver Deck & Finishes:
They built a proper base (geotextile where needed, compacted crushed stone in lifts, screeded bedding sand) and installed the Unilock pavers with tight lines and clean cuts. The deck has a perfect pitch for drainage, polymeric sand was compacted in properly, and edge restraints were installed all around. The coping cuts at corners are crisp, and the expansion joints around the pool shell are exactly where they should be. We added low-voltage lights and a small seating area—Jose priced the change order fairly and kept the schedule intact.

Communication & Professionalism:
Daily updates, zero surprises, and a spotless job site at the end of each day. The crew was respectful of our property and our neighbors. Jose did a final walkthrough, gave us a startup maintenance guide, and provided warranty information for both the pool and the pavers.

Results:
The pool looks incredible, and the paver deck is the showpiece of our backyard. It’s solid, drains correctly, and elevates the whole property. We’ve already hosted two gatherings, and everyone compliments the craftsmanship.

Hire Jose and team to redo large (1600 sq ft) paver patio after we purchased a home and had some significant non-disclosure issues. At the same time the patio was replaced, the team installed all new gutter drainage for the entire house. It was excellent working with Jose and his crew - from start to finish. They were competitive on pricing, worked meticulously, and finished in the stated timeframe. Best of all, Jose is extremely responsive when questions and concerns arise and worked very closely with us throughout the entire project. We will definitely use their services again in the future!
