McDonald Tree Service cut down a few of our trees and did a great job. The guys were friendly and professional. I'd definitely hire them again. Reasonably priced.

Today, the McDonald team came again to do work on my property
This was a complex job, as the branches of one of the trees that was to be removed was growing around power lines - done without issue
Everything was done well with absolutely no damage to the surrounding garden
The team were highly skilled, and extremely hard working
Yet again , they absolutely exceeded my expectations - their work was top class, no damage was done, and they left the work site tidy and looking better than I could have hoped for
Their pricing is very competitive
I definitely recommend them, and will use them again for further tree work

Unreliable? It's undeniable! I should have looked at the others who posted one star reviews. The owners (Keith & Tanya McDonald, Wilmington, MA) performed an estimate, set a date and time, THEN DIDN'T SHOW. I called, he rescheduled, THEN NEVER SHOWED! He wouldn't return my calls or even pick up. A COMPLETE incompetent. DO NOT USE!

I called to get a few trees removed from my back yard. The gentleman sounded very nice on the phone very professional over the phone. However, he never showed up to do a quote. I called and texted him once again. He was apologetic and again very pleasant over the phone. He told me he would pass by to take a look ASAP. Once again he never showed up. I have nothing against the company and I was looking forward to work with them. If you are unable to do a job or is too busy to follow up on your word. Please don’t keep the customer waiting.

My cat was stuck in a tree for almost three days. I have tried just about everything to get her to come down but had no luck. So I decided to call a couple of tree services when I stumbled on Mcdonald tree service on google. I decided to give them a call because the worst they could have said was no. I am very happy that I called them, I talked to the owner he was very understanding of my situation and willing to see if he could help me. After I got off the phone with him one of his workers named Jon showed up shortly after. I give him props I would not be able to climb a 40-foot tree. When Jon showed up he went right to work and rescued my cat. So if you are looking for dedicated and honest hard-working men that will get the job done right I highly suggest going to them.

What's not to love?! John is so knowledgeable about trees and made me feel comfortable about the trees I needed to remove and ones I should keep. The work was done promptly and quickly, with care taken to ensure that the property of mine and my neighbor's house were not affected in any way (there was one HUGE tree looming over my neighbors house). I feel I've built a lasting relationship with them and will be asking for tree advice for many years to come. Thank you John and company!

Keith and team did a great job for my lot. They took the job promptly without letting us wait much, showed up on time, removed the trees as planned and left the site clean. They also came back to fix a pruning issue the third day without a problem. I would highly recommend Keith and team to other similar jobs.

After calling several tree services about my friends cat that was stuck in a tree for 2 days, I was very happy after speaking with Keith McDonald. He was very helpful and friendly. He treated this situation as if it was his own pet. He offered his service and to call people that would have the tools necessary. Although the cat ended up getting down from the tree on her own shortly after my phone call with Keith, he ended up telling me he had found arrangements to take care of this. This type of task is one that those working in tree service do not have to perform, but help get it done because of their genuine willingness and want to help. We hired McDonald Tree service to remove 10 trees in our yard. they arrived on time on the scheduled day, they did the work requested with a massive crane and a crew of guys. They removed all trees, chipped and pruned up a large tree in the front yard. They were professional, and cleaned up completely after the work was done. They also grinded all the stumps left behind. 10/10 recommend this company for all your tree removing needs.

Keith and his team did a fantastic job at my house. They removed 2 60' Maple trees from my yard which were between the front of the house and the street with power lines in the way, and one of the trees was up against a new aluminum 5' tall fence. They took both trees down, ground the stumps, and cleaned up in less than 2 hours and didn't damage any landscaping (arborvitae trees and fountain grass). Not to mention, I got 5 quotes for this job and Keith's quote was roughly $500 less than the average quote - all other quotes were more expensive and did not include stump grinding. I highly recommend McDonald Tree Service.

Keith came through like a superhero in a time of need for myself and my family. His team came by and removed a 100ft tall pine tree that fell during a windy storm. They were in and out and did a great job. Highly recommended

Jon from Mc Donald Tree Service was a pleasure to work with from the start. He checked out the scope of the work at the time promised, came up with a fair quote and showed up on time with a crew to do the work. The guys were terrific, doing everything requested in a professional, safe manner. Everything was cleaned up and taken off the property as agreed. Will definitely use them again as long as Jon is involved. Highly recommend McDonald Tree Service.

We worked with Jon (and team) of McDonald Tree Service this fall and I cant speak more highly about the job these guys did. First, we hired them to remove 14 trees from our property - this job was completed in the time that I was quoted and they were incredibly flexible with scheduling. The team was conscious of our yard and left surrounding area very well organized. We also had some silly home owner requests (keeping some of the wood / slab off of a stump for decoration) and Jon personally made sure to deliver on these requests.
Then, we hired them to grind down various stumps that they had cut down as well as others that were existing on the property (20 in total). Consistent with the tree removal, the scheduling was seamless and the work was done fast and really well. The man running the grinder (forget his name) was kind and helpful as well. The only downside (but not a surprise) is having to remove dirt/wood chips (but I bet they would clean up for us if we had requested as part of the quote)

TLDR: hire these guys. They do a great job, are very kind, and are great with communication. 10/10

I had the McDonald Tree team take down 4 trees in a really cramped space of my yard. They were able to handle the job with ease. Jon was responsive through the entire process from estimate to payment and the team was professional and completed the job in a single afternoon. They cleaned up the yard and really did a great job at an extremely fair price. I will be using McDonald Tree service for all future jobs.

I am very pleased with the work of McDonald Tree Service. I needed 3 large trees that was close to my house and power lines removed. I called and got a quote that was way less than I expected. They were able to remove the trees the next day. I never even had to meet with anyone because everything was done electronically. I came home from work, and the trees were never there. They ground the stump, filled the hole, and cleaned up beautifully. I highly recommend their services.

Don't believe everything you hear. Got a bad rec from a neighbor, my parents were bamboozled and our woods were ruined. They talked through it all with Carlos, walked around the whole property. He was nice, they said he understood what they wanted and it all seemed good to go. Then on the day of the job, Carlos had a meeting, left his crew to do the work, and when he came back and the work was done our woods had been mutilated. These guys were chop and chainsaw crazy or something. Not sure if they just didn't listen to their boss or he didn't communicate what was discussed. A very sentimental tree that was specifically talked about not touching was completely shaved down. Any privacy or signs of a natural woods were destroyed/cleared out. The woods were left barren and we were left honestly heartbroken. I guess if you want to live in manicured and sparse surroundings and don't care if the end product looks anything like what you discussed, these could be the guys for you. It's so hard because we can't go back in time and have just had to try and get used to the way our land looks and feels now. Over 20+ years living here we have had multiple tree companies come and do work and have never been left feeling this way. My parents don't want drama and never stick up for themselves but something has to be said. I just saw their trucks at another house in the neighborhood and can only hope things go better for that family. We'll never get our woods back.
