I used Energy Sage for researching the various Installers, Equipment. It has accurate and detailed information for customers of all types.
I got quotes using EnergySage and then worked with various installers to refine the quote before going ahead with my rooftop solar project.
All in all it was a great experience. EnergySage gave me the confidence to make the right decision.

The ability to compare quotes, message vendors, review details about the equipment in the vendor designs, and updates when new quotes arrive was extremely helpful. I originally started looking at Solar through SunPowers reseller network. I felt the quotes I received were high in comparison to some I priced out online. Once I filled out my profile on EnergySage I had 5 quotes in 24 hours. The one I selected was about $24,000 less than the one I had originally gotten and had equally high quality equipment. The company was also very close to my home which increased my confidence in selecting them. If you need help they even assign you a Solar advisor to assist with quote review and questions. Overall, highly recommend this service if you are shopping for Solar.

Great tool for obtaining and comparing solar quotes from many providers. I also spoke to a representative at EnergySage who was very helpful in explaining what to look for when comparing the quotes and offered some suggestions. I was able to narrow down the list to a few installers before I contacted them directly and then ultimately chose one that best met my concerns and budget. I now feel confident that I made a great investment without overpaying.

I used this service to get a total of 7 rooftop solar install quotes within a few days. It is very convenient and allows you to make an informed decision. My experience is in California where the solar market is quite mature and vibrant so I can only speak to this particular area. The service is free to you, the client, so there really is no risk. I would highly recommend anyone looking into solar to use this service. Searching through contractors is a lot of work and would still leave you trying to compare apples to oranges as quotes can very widely. This service will, to some degree, allow you to compare each quote in a fair manner. If nothing else, this service would at least shield you from all the marketing/sales people trying to sell you on their product. A huge plus for someone who doesn't like talking to people, or maybe doesn't have the time. It also helps that they offer an energy advisor who you can talk to before making your decision. Again, all this is for free (or virtually free, as there probably is a systemic price inflation built-in via the finder's fee that they collect). Solar companies will have to factor in the cost of marketing anyway, so I believe that with or without using this service, the extra cost is baked in to most quotes you will get.

I first joined Energy Sage to educate myself on future Solar plans. I filled out my profile and uploaded my power bill. I received quotes almost immediately, but wasn't in a position to pull the trigger yet.

Months later, I had made the decision that I was going to go Solar for my house! I signed back in to Energy Sage, updated my profile a little and received 3 quotes! I was able to talk with the installer that piqued my interest as well as check out reviews from other Energy Sage members who had used my installer. I also checked out all the reviews for the hardware in my quotes as well as my financing options.

I'm happy to say that my new Solar system will be installed very soon (most likely a few weeks as I'm just waiting on approvals). Using Energy Sage was easy, straight forward and critical for me having the knowledge about Solar to make an informed decision. I also would've never connected with my installer without Energy Sage.

Great experience using EnergySage!!! The site helps you better understand the benefits of solar, installation process and helps identify and select a contractor. The independent review of different contractors was extremely valuable in helping me select my contractor. They provide a consultant to help in the entire process which was invaluable!
My install was just completed on Friday and went very smoothly.
The county completed the inspection today, which passed and now awaiting Pepco approval so that I can turn the system operational.

Energy Sage was very helpful informing me about solar, getting quotes, and helping me choose the installer that I used to install my solar panels. The process was clean and easy.

You can get several competitive quotes, each one detailing what you be getting. You can correspond with each company to work out the specifics . Each company has info and reviews on the company and products. Also you need to google companies for more info and reviews. I used them and saved many dollars.

Energy Sage was great to get some quotes and I set up my call with their 'neutral' advisor who was super helpful.

Then I had one of the companies write back to me when I asked about cancellation and say: 'Jillian we would also give you the right to cancel for the design change as well. These stages are early in the project. we would just ask that you still leave us a positive review about your experience.' and I sent it over to Energy Sage to say that these companies should not be soliciting reviews this way. I sent this to my contact at Energy Sage, Danielle, and she said ' I do not see this as chasing reviews but rather setting appropriate expectations. Please let me know your feedback if that is not the case.' I was like 'Danielle, they legit asked for a positive review, word for word.'

Anyway, I am sharing this because I DO NOT think Energy Sage is neutral so while the platform is great for comparison and pricing, I would not expect them to help you from a neutral perspective. They will just stick up for the companies on their platform.

It took over 2 years to find the right price, time, and installer; But our Energy Sage advisor was really helpful and patient with us. Got multiple quotes, shopped around, and settled on an installer that was really local to us. They had a long history, and decent reviews. When we got into contact with them, they were excellent in answering all our questions. We agreed on the contract, and installation went smoothly. Only issue was PG&E dragging everything out, so any and all fault is PG&E's. Powerwall is working, the app shows energy usage and generated. Very happy with them.

EnergySage was great, I was able to get several local contactors to bid on my system. It was easy to compare materials, labor and financing all on one website. There was plenty of information and links to easily learn about the different hardware components of a solar grid-tied system. Also the website made it easy to communicate with contractors, ask questions and get answers.

After providing quotes from 3 pre-qualified providers they reviewed options with me to help me find the best fit. The provider I chose, Strawberry Solar, exceeded all expectations. Every aspect of the company and every employee operates very professionally and treated us with respect. The quality of their work was as good or better than any contractor who has worked in our home, and they delivered more than they promised. From the ownership and management down through each employee they appear to be doing the work they love and believe in. I ask many questions, with follow up questions, and they patiently answered it all, then delivered what they said.
