Constraction reviews in Brookline, Massachusetts

We are VERY happy with our newly finished basement (family room/playroom, guest room/office, and full bathroom)! We chose GBC over a referral from a friend because of how impressed we were with Wellynson’s expertise and knowledge. Wellynson was very patient while we waited for our HOA to approve the project. Once the project started, we were pleased with the GBC crew and subcontractors’ work. Alyson was extremely easy to work with and we appreciate his communication, knowledge, and assistance. If anything came up, he was right on it with a solution. GBC also stayed within the completion period they had on contract which was very appreciated. Everyone who stepped into our home was friendly and worked hard. GBC’s attention to detail is very impressive and we are excited to make memories in our new space. We are blown away by the end results & will recommend GBC’s services to family, friends and neighbors!

I decided to finish my basement after 3 years of nurturing the idea here in Lakeville, MA. First, I wanted a company that would do an incredible job at a fair price and so a couple contractors came in to see the space, and give a cost estimate. After careful consideration and vetting, I finally chose Greater Boston Contractors. I am here today to attest that they did a good job and exceeded expectations. I was under a tight deadline because my family was growing and I needed extra space for the living area, a home office, a kids play room, and an additional bathroom/shower. Greater Boston Contractors professionally took me through every step, from permit application to the final coat of paint , to the final inspection. Due to financial constraints, my original plan was to complete phase one ( about 400 sq. feet), then do phase two much later. But when I saw how spectacular the first phase turned out to be, I quickly contacted them to finish the second phase without further ado.

Greater Boston Contractors crew were professional, experienced, responsible and handled the whole project flawlessly. They were easy to work with, kept in touch throughout to ensure I understood every step, and made sure the work done was of high quality. Choosing them over others, I generally felt like we were a priority, and not just a number. Matthew Santana did a great job keeping in touch with me and explaining the next steps. He never got tired answering questions even on his off days! Hoepers Alyson was very professional and outstanding. He was quite accommodating, paid attention to details, and above all he was a very easy to team with person. Ramon did great tiling the bathroom, as it came out looking stunningly amazing, my daughter loves it. The list of the workers is long, but in a nutshell, I enjoyed working with each one of them. They were clean, friendly, polite and stayed late to make sure my project was completed. I am definitely recommending Greater Boston Contractors for your next project. They finished my project on time without any hiccups. There is no need to procrastinate, try them today and join the club of happy and satisfied clients. Cheers Greater Boston Contractors!

Excellent Basement Renovation Experience

We recently had our basement finished including a full bath, by Greater Boston Contractors and we couldn't be happier with the results. Wellynson and his team did a terrific job ! From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and incredibly skilled.

The craftsmanship is top-notch. The walls are perfectly aligned, the flooring is seamless, and the custom cabinetry Wellynson and his team installed is flawless. They paid attention to every detail, ensuring that all the finishes were exactly as we had envisioned.

Throughout the project, the communication was excellent. They kept us informed at every stage, and there were no surprises. They were very receptive to my input and made adjustments where necessary.

The project was completed on time, which was a pleasant surprise given the scope of work. They stuck to the schedule without compromising quality.

They made sure to keep the work area clean and tidy throughout the project. They also took care of all the post-project cleanup, leaving our home spotless.

I highly recommend Wellynson for any basement renovation. They transformed a dull, underutilized space into a beautiful, functional area that our kids will now enjoy for years to come. If you’re looking for a reliable and skilled contractor, Wellynson is the person to hire!

I hired them to finish my unfinished basement, and overall, I’m happy with the result. The work was completed on time, and the finished space meets my expectations. The team was professional, and everything was done to a good standard.

That said, the only issue I ran into was that there seemed to be multiple project managers overseeing the work at different points, and there were times when it felt like they weren’t on the same page. I ended up having to repeat the same details or clarify things multiple times, which caused a few breakdowns in communication.

Despite that, the job was completed as promised, and I’d still recommend them for reliable work.

Working with Greater Boston Contractors was the BEST experience we ever had in completing any of our home improvement projects.

Wellynson and his team did a tremendous job in completing the project within the time and in a professional way. The level of commitment and dedication you can see by the finish and look they will bring to your old space . Our dull, cold basement is now transformed into a multipurpose area which consists of well crafted family entertainment space, a full bath, a bar area , under stairs study nook and utility room to store items .

They are also very good in suggesting multiple ideas that would match your need and that too within the budget. They were flexible enough to answer any questions, consider our point of view and able to adapt to any change in our project plan which was due to additional request.

Their impressive work ethics and dedication has gained our trust and we have already recommended them to some of our neighbors.

Therefore, please do not hesitate to reach out to them if you are thinking on your upcoming home remodeling projects - you will only be happy by their work !

I recommend GBC if you want a team who is professional, prompt, fair regarding price, and does quality work. I had multiple rooms that needed drywall installed as well as badly scratched hardwood floors that needed to be refinished. Greater Boston Contractors had great communication throughout the process & and they did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. They were also very quick to help with some additional plumbing work that wasn't in the original scope. I plan to hire them again for my next home project. Great job GBC!

From the very beginning, Wellynson was incredibly helpful, providing a detailed and transparent estimate. Once the project started, Alyson was there every step of the way, ensuring everything went smoothly and was completed to perfection.

The attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship were outstanding. From the beautiful tiling to the modern fixtures, every element was installed with precision. They also maintained excellent communication throughout, keeping me informed of progress and addressing any questions or concerns promptly.

My bathroom has been completely transformed, and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Best company in boston 💪💪

Excellent work throuhout the house - I'm especially grateful Jim recommended wall insulation. What a difference with heat and cooling!

We totally recommend Lockwood construction. They did a huge renovation project (9 months) and handled everything from steel beams to molding with care and craftsmanship. Jim is always thinking of ways to improve the project.

Lockwood construction is everything you could want for a remodeling project and more. They did an amazing job remodeling my condo, everything from design to completion. Professional, knowledgable, experienced, communicative, creative, timely, responsive, patient, and the finished product speaks for itself. Highly recommend!

Jim did major work on our single family with complete renovation of the basement into a separate apartment to rent out and replacement of the heating system. He was very professional, responsive and honest and I highly recommend his work and his team to anybody thinking about a major renovation.

I have used Lockwood Construction for 2 significant projects that included complete, gut-rehab scope and the experience has been best in class. Jim (Lockwood) has everything one would want in a contractor: transparency, integrity and punctuality. He also offers something above and beyond expectations: creative and thoughtful input into design (he went to RISD) and environmental/efficiency measures. I would highly recommend Lockwood Construction.

These guys are amazing! We had the best experience working with them on a Hyatt Hotel in the down town area. They were very communicative and went the extra mile to track down hard to find materials and information needed to get the job done. They completed on time and on budget. I would recommend then to any one for any type of project big or small. The owner of the company was an absolute pleasure to work with! Thank you Lockwood Construction!

Jim and his team are fantastic! They did a major project for us -- an addition on our single family home in JP. He is a pleasure to work with -- he has great vision and is a true partner in making homes feel perfect. We started out with a plan and he made smart suggestions along the way that we could not imagine living without. Also he is communicative and a joy to work with. We recommend Jim without hesitation!

Highly recommend Lockwood Construction. They recently repaired a basement wall that had water damage, it looks great and will stay dry with vent holes Jim put in. They built a rear addition including new bathroom which involved hoisting all materials over the roof since my unit is an attached townhouse; the space is beautiful now as it was when built 15 years ago.

We worked with Jim to do a comprehensive efficiency upgrade to our Brookline house, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our 100-year-old house is now comfortable and draft-free, and our heating bills have dropped significantly. The work involved a lot of careful interior surgery, paint color matching, etc, and when Jim's crew was done, you couldn't tell anything had been touched - his craft and attention to detail was first-class. We recommend Jim without hesitation - we are totally satisfied with the work he did for us.

Jim Lockwood and team planned and executed a gorgeous redesign of our back patio, along with our kitchen and a number of interior updates. We couldn't be happier with the results.

We recommend LLC 100%. Jim Lockwood has taken total control of a huge project, gutting and renovating a 2 storied space for our Woman's Health Club in Brookline. From day one Jim has been hard at work with his crew on this massive undertaking and has applied his many years of experience to making my vision for this space a reality. Through every step of this process Jim has been highly detail orientated and worked hand in hand with me in making even the most minor of decisions to bring this new club to life.

Jim has helped with three projects now. Big or small he comes through with fast, extremely high quality work. This last one he and his team replaced our entire 100yr old slate roof (with new slate he sourced from the same quarry as the original), repointed the chimneys, all new sub roof, rubber roofs, copper work, new gutters, painting and stucco repairs. His esthetics are meticulous and thoughtful. He thinks about the budget, the history of the property and the client. He is easy to work with, clear, straight forward and professional. He gets the best tradesmen/women. He is worth every penny and he backs up his work.
The two previous projects were an emergency to address a leaking bathroom on a tight budget and insulation of our whole house. Super helpful, great work. Absolutely 5 stars.
