My wife and I have used Alewife for both construction and plumbing on many occasions over the past 10--15 years. Their work has always been superb. Today I had an Alewife plumber come to replace an upstairs toilet. He did an excellent job (he also repaired another toilet a couple of weeks ago), and everything is now back to normal. I will certainly continue to use Alewife for all future plumbing and construction tasks.

Can I give 20 stars? Absolutely the best. Professional, kind, thorough -- and they came in well under the quote. Thanks to Mike and the entire team. Don't call anyone else!

Alewife Plumbing was terrific. As part of a new kitchen in a 10 unit condo in Brookline we had to have a building drain down to replace the hot and cold water shutoffs which we old and not closing completely. We scheduled the work with Alewife and the property manager. Alewife arrived bed as scheduled and completed the drain down and valve replacement. They also made suggestions about where the valves should be located for easy access. Overall fantastic work!

I had my furnace inspected to see if everything was working properly. There have been starts and stops. But, Alewife has responded well!! They are always ready to fix problems and show up on time! I've done business with Alewife for about 20 YEARS!! I plan to stick with them.

I've been using Alewife for years. They have always done great work. I recently had a new toilet installed that also required repiping and the final cost came in below their estimate.

In the past I've had decent experiences with Alewife Co and recommended them to others. Unfortunately my most recent experience will be the last.

I asked them to come out a fix 1 issue and quote the repair of another. It's been a week and I've reached out via phone and email and they've given zero response. The work quality might be good but the communication is terrible.

Very rude and and disrespectful employees and would never use their service…I’m glad to know what kind of ppl are their and will definitely keep as far away from people that behave in such a manner

Rude, way overpriced, condescending to women who ask “too many questions.”
Got the same job done by another more polite plumber for less than half the price.

The plumber was excellent but the back office repeatedly underperformed and overcharged. A 60 unit condo association, we used them for a multi-day test job. Both owner and Management refused to correct the problem.

They sent a plumber to attach a pressure tank, fix the hot water issues we were having. They were fast to ship, though.

He did the pressure tank right. But, when it came to the hot water, he broke the valve in the wall. As a result, we did not have water in our shower and no hot water in the entire condo.

When I called them, they came back and asked for money to fix the valve. At that point, I lost my patience with these folx. I decided to go with building plumber and ended up paying 700 dollars for the mistake their plumber caused me.

They kept blaming the valve we had, but their plumber used a hammer to turn it and broke it.

This was an expensive lesson for me. Of course, I won’t using them ever.

The plumber (Greg or Craig) came over to fix the faucet in the bath tub and told me he'll need to replace it and I said sounds good call me if you need something and I went to the living room to work.

He calls me and shows me the detached faucet and tells me something and I said "that's a lot of calcium buildup" and the guy says "the house is old" and goes on and says something about the door frame which I don't really understand. I told him "the house is old and you can feel the floor slanted" and the guy goes "the house is settling in" and somehow become condescending and lecture me to say "if you want to live in a new place go live in a new place" and I'm thinking what is this guy talking about.

He continues to say things in an aggressive and condescending ways and I'm just thinking how bizarre this situation is. Having to tolerate this rude and unpleasant person. Just unprofessional and unpleasant. Guarantee this is not the first time the person acted like this and most likely not the last time either.
