Went to store. Was made fun of because I didn't know the size of the parts that I needed. Was told he would not help me and kicked me out of the store. Will not go back...

I have been shopping at Larry's Hardware for years. Honest advice for the do-it-yourselfer. You can even find a plumber there. Competitive prices.

Rick and staff is always willing to take the time to help with any issue or questions you have and very knowledgeable unlike big hardware superstores where it's just a job to employees and can't even point you to the right isle most the time. Good prices also and we need places like this to stay alive

Out of the way, non chain hardware store, loaded from floor to ceiling with stuff. Usually a good thing and hard to find. Selection of nuts and bolts wasn't even up to my local Ace Hardware. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. (Please don't insist that i can't possibly need what I'm asking for just because you don't have it) 16mm fine pitch lock nut.
I Won't be back Larry!! -
This place is a invaluable asset for any plumber, electrician , general handyman or DIY home owner. Knowledge the employees and owner have along with the quality products available are a far better value than any big box store.it's a shame that people these days shop by price not value so the mom &pop shops disappear than you have nowhere to buy the stuff you need and Home Depot does not have it or care one bit , that's even if the kid in the isle knows what the heck you are talking about.

Big box stores don’t carry 1930’s faucets but Larry’s was very helpful & very knowledgeable
Thank you for your help -
Called with a plumbing issue and was helped by Rick, gave me 3 reputable plumbers info and a good direction to figure out my problem.

I stopped in this morning. Walked around and no one offered to help. The owner was talking loudly to a man in back. I walked by and attempted to make eye contact. When he walked to front I followed. He was complaining about working. He was tired of working 100 hours a week, etc. he didn’t give a rat’s a— about it anymore. This went on and on. He glanced at me a couple times during his rant. My husband had sent me here because he had been helpful to him.
Was his lack of service because I was female? I walked out when owner continued complaining and ignored me. -
Needed a shower valve for a leaking shower. Went to Lowes and home Depot first since they were closer and neither had what I needed. Took less than 2 minutes to get the part and the price was great!

I’m no heating expert. Went here thinking I’d get better assistance for old baseboard heat parts. Got handed a spec sheet and barely anything more. Not knowing what mfg was used in our older condo I was told it’s like the blind leading the blind, so I dropped the spec sheet and left. Seriously this guy really couldn’t have cared less to help. Close up because with that customer service customers will dry up. Just a miserable jerk about as useless as can be.

The sooner people understand people the sooner you can appreciate this business. If i was working 80hr weeks id be miserable too. Don't take it personal. He's a hold out from the death grip of big box stores and show rooms.

I went to Larry's a year ago for an obscure part. I found the part, but the service was gruff to say the least. I just figured bad day for those working. Then this morning I went again, the woman at the desk went through the motions of asking if I needed something, of course I did, I'm in the store. I brought in the pieces I needed for an adapter for my pressure washer and she begins to ask sizing questions, I said I didn't know, that's why I was there and she seemed irritated. Stated would need to speak to someone else who was an expert.
She brought me to speak to a man who was working on a screen. I greeted him by saying I hear you're the expert with a grin and he doesn't look up and says he's busy. I couldn't believe it. He begins to speak and continues to focus on what he was doing. He finally looked up and basically said oh well, have to use several fittings to do what I needed.
I work in a customer facing business, I cannot get over the amount of "put out" feeling from this store. I understand what I was looking for might have been unique, but there's a way to deliver and discuss the options. Great selection of obscure items, completely no idea how to treat customers. I will never go back again or recommend.
Local businesses wonder why people are shopping online more and more. You shop local for the people and expertise. Not to get an attitude. -
Owner was super rude and pretentious with his plumbing jargon. Seemed like he couldnt be bothered while eating his chinese food at 8:30AM!
Showed him pictures of the prt I needed and went on and on about how he needed the part number or the model of the faucet. I have owned my house for six years and have know way to confirm the exact model the previous owners installed. After explaining that he still had no patience to try and help. -
I was at this location because I was looking for something not made anymore, Richard didn’t have what I was looking for, but he put together what he said would work, I haven’t tried it yet. I had never been there before & hope I never have to return! The Customer Service was terrible! All I heard was how burned out he was, He was sick of Retail & wanted to lock up the place & walk away! He didn’t charge me for what I got but he threw it on the counter, along with his business Card, said have a good day & walked away! This was 6-25-21 & I was the only Customer in the Store. My rating doesn’t even deserve the 1 star I gave!

The hot water side of my bathroom faucet was dripping,so a co~worker recommended Larry's. I showed Rick the part I brought and he knew exactly the brand of faucet and got me the exact part! Also very reasonable. I will definitely shop there again!

Love this store. Love Larry and his wealth of knowledge and fair prices. Never go to home Depot unless you need bulk items chose Larry before anyone else.

Great store and excellent service! Before I went to Larry's, several other stores were visited. None of them had the shower cartridge I needed. Went to Larry's, was in and out in 15 minutes. Paid less than Amazon, over 50% less than Home Depot, both of which I would have needed to wait for.

Rick is very knowledgeable and a hard worker. This is the place to find hard to find plumbing parts. To all the people complaining about Rick on the reviews just understand this the man works like 80 hours a week and has been for a very long time. He may come off as rude but he does care about people. He's like an artist of plumbing and we all know talented artists have quarks. He's held off from the big box stores and imagine trying to to find reliable help with a small store like Larry's. He ends up working more hours than he probably wants but if not him then who? He's a very good man and works very hard. He is extremely knowledgeable. Support your local business.

In my opinion and experience by going to Larry’s I just don’t go to purchase plumbing parts. When I have gone not only do I always get what I’m looking for but I also gain knowledge by listening to his expertise in the field of Plumbing…
