Constraction reviews in Groveland, Massachusetts

Did exactly what they said they would do in the time outlined. Was slightly overbudget (~10%) but outlined the excess costs in detail.

I woud recommend this company to anyone. They are courteous, professional and the standard of work is excellent.

Bob is always easy to reach and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend Star Construction in a heartbeat!

Had a roof replaced by this company and I have had multiple roof leaks around chimney and skylights. I had to hire a secondary company to repair a hole in the shingles (looked like hammer damage) and re-flash the chimney and now the skylights. Many more issues. Very dissatisfied.

Bob has done numerous projects for us; always professional, timely, and no-nonsense about the quotes. No hidden costs. We've been pleased with the quality of the work, especially the bathroom remodels.

The biggest thing for me is finding someone I can trust and I have used Star Construction on multiple projects at my home - big and small. Their quality and attention to detail are outstanding and they have always been very professional and respectful in our dealings.

Proposal to replace 15 windows was detailed and the project came in on budget. Bob was responsive, friendly, and professional. Everything was cleaned up each day and the windows look great!

Star Construction was on time, professional and courteous. They did a great job installing exterior window casing and red cedar shingles. I will definitely be requesting their services again.

Bob was a pleasure to work with He renovated a bathroom for me and did some small renovations in a living room. He was clear on the scope of work, did the job quickly, cleaned up well, and was accurate on the estimate and timeline.

I met with Bob (and Kevin) to better understand the scope of work Star Construction does. I was impressed with his knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, and remodeling trends. I would highly recommend Star Construction!

Star Construction has done three old-house restoration projects for me with great results. Bob has been a pleasure to work with and is highly recommended. A fourth project is under discussion now!

Star Construction rescued me from a botched job created by another construction co. I cannot say enough about Star Constructions professionalism and the quality of their work . The job was finished in a timely manner, and Bob was a pleasure to work with. Gail Cray

Star construction was professional, courteous and interested.
Innovative suggestions from Bob and associates helped bring our project to a successful conclusion.
Problems were considered "opportunities" by Bob and Kevin, and were resolved in a timely manner.
The project was a total positive experience. '

Star Construction fully rebuilt two large-two level porches on our 125 year old house. The project was very complicated due to the architectural challenges. They rebuilt with strong architectural integrity. Paid close attention to detail. We are very pleased. Very easy to work with.

We recently hired Star Construction Company to do a small remodel of our 1960's kitchen. It entailed moving & reinstalling old 1960's cabinets in a pantry area, installing new cabinets for new appliances and rebuilding our old sink area to accommodate a new farmhouse sink. Jake and TJ were excellent! Their level of detail and interaction with us was just what we had hoped. They arrived on time each day, were very friendly and cleaned up each day. Our work was done in a matter of 4 day, tops. We were in a time crunch and they accommodated our schedule. We are so very pleased and will definitely use them again for future projects. Thanks Bob, Jake & TJ, it was a pleasure working with you!

It is with pleasure that we whole heartedly recommend the services of Star Construction, its owner Bob Williams, his crew, and range of subcontractors. Star has worked with us several times, twice for major renovations of income property we own. We have each time been impressed with the ease of communication, attention to detail, estimate accuracy, and scheduling.

Bob is deeply knowledgeable, dedicated to open dialogue and quality workmanship from a project's beginning to its completion. Bob carefully manages his team of carpenters and subcontractors and keeps the project moving on time and within budget. He always discussed unexpected difficulties and made sure changes we requested were clearly understood.

For the most recent renovation, Star was contracted to do all the major tasks involved in a complete redo of the kitchen, bath, and back entranceway. When we were unexpectantly not able to complete a significant number of smaller tasks we had planned to do ourselves, Bob and his crew stepped in, working days, evenings, and some weekends, to make sure the apartment was ready in time for the new tenant. They went above and beyond and for that we are forever grateful.

We were also impressed with the subcontractors Bob involved in our project, all providing the highest quality of workmanship: Fairview Millwork of Seabrook; Elm Park Flooring of Groveland; Main Street Plumbing of Groveland; Joel Winslow/JW Electric of Atkinson; and Roger Dardinski, iron works, of Newburyport.

As first-time home owners, our bathroom renovation project was the first we'd ever embarked on. We didn't know where to begin or how realistic our vision was for our budget, and we were concerned about getting blindsided along the way with unforeseen issues. Bob was the only contractor who walked us through the process, helped us think about options, and gave me the confidence that he would truly oversee the project from start to finish. He responded to all my calls in a timely manner and spent the necessary time answering my questions. His team was clean and conscientious with their work, and we were very pleased with the outcome. All the references I contacted gave top-notch reviews as well!

Bob and his crew from Star Construction did a wonderful job with our third floor dormer project providing my wife and me with a private suite, which included a bedroom, ensuite bathroom and office. A few years later they followed up with a kitchen redesign that changed the layout and improved the overall functionality. Bob is very responsive; he answers his phone and keeps his word. Equally as important, both jobs came in on-time and on-budget.

Bob and his team transformed my 30 year old kitchen into a fabulous new design with improved function and storage. It was better than I ever imagined my kitchen could look. The Candlelight cabinets are such high quality. Dave at Jack's Custom Woodworking was so helpful to me in selecting cabinet options and hardware. Jake did a lot of the construction work and installation. His attention to detail and work ethic were impressive. There was no punch list at the end of this job. It was done right. Gerald was the electrician and worked with me and the team on every detail.
They have a highly skilled team and deliver a quality result. I recommend them without any hesitation..

Searching for a firm to do a kitchen gut renovation, I reached out to Star Construction among a number of companies. Bob Williams was no only prompt in letting me know that I was out of the current service area, he gave me a referral of a company he trusts and further answered a lot of my questions regarding how to find the best company with whom to partner. After having a nightmare experience with a bathroom remodel, I feel more at ease knowing there are companies and tradesmen who are focused on good communication and helping clients find the best option for them. I commend Bob Williams on his customer service: attentiveness to my inquiry, helpful resources and time. Now to just find this in my area!

I'm trying to figure out if the other reviewers are talking about the same company I am because my experience with Bob at Star Construction was horrible. We had a signed contract for a set price on a new roof. When he was finished, he claimed materials were stolen from our driveway, the roof and materials were bigger than estimated, and he wanted thousands more than the contracted amount. After we paid in full, he put a lien on our house and filed a lawsuit. I would stay away from this contractor.

I have read Bob's response, and he was paid for the service he provided. There was no sale of property. We have lived here for over 15 years. I did fail to mention that after the new roof was installed, I had to call another roofer as we had water leaking and damage. All I can say is..be warned.
