James made time to get to me today when an electrical problem shut down the pump for my well and I had no water. He fixed it in no time and had the water flowing. All with a smile and the assurances that I needed to hear!

We renovated our kitchen, and Jim did the electrical work, including running lights, putting in new outlets, wiring a range hood, and bringing the wiring up to code. He brought an experienced eye to the project and made some very helpful suggestions. His final quote was right in line with his initial estimate, he showed up exactly when he said he would, and he took time to straighten everything up before he left at the end of the day. I'll definitely call him again for any future electrical needs. I highly recommend him.

We asked Mr. Butler to update the wiring in our living room so a programmable controller could be installed. This is a house from the mid-60's with wiring to match. He showed up promptly as scheduled, surveyed our situation, and discussed his approach to the job, and went right to work. Throughout, he was very willing to answer our questions and explain what he was doing and why. Despite having to work in some of the less accessible areas of the house by the end of the day we had our controller. We will definitely be asking him to do more work for us.

Jim was excellent to work with. He was always responsive , reliable and timely. He was very trustworthy and thorough when reconnecting our pool equipment . He solved an issue with our timer that 3 other electricians never fixed. I would highly recommend his company!

During a recent storm the power lines were pulled from my house by the wind. I called Jim and he said he would be over as soon as it was safe. When he arrived he assessed the issue and took care of it within a couple hours. He did a great job getting everything reattached and we couldn’t be happier with the job he did. Would highly recommend him.

We had Butler Eletric come and install a whole house generator the cost was roughly twenty-two thousand for a 24kw automatic generator. They were neat clean reliable and responsive, would highly recommend them for generator installation and services.

Mr. Butler is responsive, skilled and easy to work with. He is reliable and takes his time to do the job right. He is a one-person company and if you want speedy and highly efficient, choose a company with several staff. But if you want old-fashioned personable service with someone who is considerate, easy-going, and spends the time to brainstorm creative solutions to challenges, Jim is your man.
We have a VERY small yard and installing our on-demand generator was a real challenge, having to put the generator and the propane tank 5-10 feet away from every window and electric source, and avoiding our septic tank and water pipes when digging the trenches. Jim hung in with patience through several changes of planned locations and ultimately he came up with the best solution with our input. He worked well with the propane installer.
We have used Jim for smaller jobs in the past, and he is always quick to get back to us and get us in his schedule quickly. We feel fortunate to have him as our electrician!

Jim fixed our issue with fire & carbon monoxide alarms in a prompt, accurate, and complete manner. He assessed the issue, provided us with very reasonable quotes and completed the job in a very professional manner. We highly recommend Butler Electric!!!!

We hired James Butler to do a simple TV mount above our fireplace. The mount was provided, all he had to do was find the stud and drill it in. We were very explicit that we were not interested in patching holes and repainting since we did not have the color to match for the living room and we didn’t want to pay for wall patching. He was to put in the mount, and that was it. But instead of using an electric stud finder, he drilled holes in the wall. Over a dozen. Big holes. Then, he proceeded to install the mount but he didn’t check his measures. The mount is tilted – by about an inch. It doesn’t sound like much, but it is when your TV isn’t plumb. Then he proceeds to drill holes in the wall – holes he wasn’t supposed to drill. I come back to find four large holes, a jagged tear in the wall, and a crooked mount. Don’t worry, he says, he can cover it with outlets. And this nightmare job that destroyed my wall somehow took all day. For what should have been a simple TV mount. Long story short, it cost me over 1400 to have everything re-done properly: the mount, the wiring, the TV, everything. When I requested that he pay for the repairs for the damage he caused to my home, he demanded I pay the bill for the work (which I was refusing to pay) or he would sue. So, I took him to court, and I won. You can see the damage for yourself in the pictures. Oh, and don’t be taken in by his website. There are no other certified technicians. It’s just him. No one else. Do yourself a favor. Find someone else, literally anyone else, or you will regret it. Just like I did.

Jim was fantastic to work with! He helped us double-check the wiring in a new house and did a thorough, professional job. Not only was he incredibly responsive, but he was also friendly and easy to communicate with.
