Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. Our front porch was badly damaged after being hit by a truck, and this construction company went above and beyond to restore it. The result is flawless, you’d never know anything had happened.

From day 1, the team was professional, detail-oriented, and incredibly communicative. The project coordinator (Cristine) kept us in the loop every step of the way by text messages, from selecting materials (with our input) to sharing delivery updates and scheduling the work. That level of transparency and care made a stressful situation so much easier to handle.

The final result is nothing short of amazing, and we were so impressed that we’ve already hired them again — this time to replace some of our non-soundproof windows. The same attention to detail and quality is being applied, and the experience has once again been seamless.

We won’t be working with anyone else moving forward. When you find a company this reliable, skilled, and trustworthy, you stick with them. Highly, highly recommend.

Will hire again! HKF replaced 3 windows on my house at reasonable pricing and with quality work. They also replaced some trim that was rotting on the outside frame, and fixed a wayward shingle, just to be helpful.

We hired Hayce to add a backdoor to our house, which required moving an internal load-bearing wall; to straighten some stairs that led to a newly finished, dormered former attic space; to replace most of the windows on our first floor; and to build a landing and patio space. She was a pleasure to work with—very responsive to texts and phone calls, always willing to work together to address any unforeseen complications, and incredibly thoughtful as a person! Her team was also very professional and courteous throughout the project. We could not be happier with the results and already have plans to work with her again!

I hired Hayce and her team to rebuild a two-story back deck for me and was very happy with the result. HKF Construction did a great job rebuilding our three-story deck! Hayce is very responsive and addressed all of our many questions right away. I would definitely recommend HFK Construction to anyone in the area.

We hired HKF to remodel our bathroom. We chose Hayce over other contractors because we could see how confident she was about handling a project in a very old house where anything could happen once you open the walls. We felt like Hayce really listened to us and gave us exactly what we wanted. She communicated promptly from the first consultation to the final inspection.

When any issue came up, she immediately discussed options with us so we could make the best decisions and keep our project timeline on track. She made sure the shower size, tiles, placement of the toilet and even the original door trim were done exactly to our liking. When she noticed a small area of dust hadn’t been cleaned up at the end of the project, she made sure her team came back to finish cleaning right away. No detail was left behind. She took even the smallest problem or delay very seriously and made everything right.

Her team was always friendly and happy to keep us updated on their plans for the day. We couldn’t stay since it is our only bathroom but we felt extremely comfortable leaving them to work all day in our home. We love how it turn out, better than we imagined! We will reach out to Hayce again for our next project.

Had a project to rehab our Kitchen. New counters, backsplash, updated all lights to recessed lights in three rooms. Had all our woodwork painted and had new replacement windows. They worked extremely fast and meticulously. We were extremely happy with the end result and will definitely use them again for future projects.

This crew does unbelievably great work. I was so delighted by their attention to detail and how carefully and thoroughly they did their work. we hired them to do exterior painting and repair work. They replaced doors and windows, fixed rotting shingles and wobbly stair railing. they rebuilt my roof deck, and replaced the flat roofing underneath, and managed to do it completely outdoors, using only ladders, without disconnecting the AC compressor that sits on top of the roof they were replacing. They did painting, carpentry landscaping,, and masonry. They noticed that there was a bunch of junk and construction debris hidden under my front porch, and they hauled it all away. Then they re-graded the soil in my front yard, poured a new concrete slab under the front porch, and replanted my garden, saving my favorite plantings and improving the rest. Hayce, the owner of the company, runs a tight ship. She managed multiple different contracts with different timelines and owners and punch lists of requirements, and on every project, her team went above and beyond expectations. Hayce was out there every day, up on a ladder, and her crew was prompt and talented and tidy and fast. Every project turned out better than I had hoped. Every day, before they left, they left my house's exterior cleaner than it has every been. they pulled weeds and hauled away junk and left the gardens and every other part of the exterior better than they found them. And they were affordable, and prompt, and I'm sure there is no project they couldn't do. I'm already planning to hire them again to do more work on my house.

We hired HKF to rebuild our second floor walk-out porch after having found that the porch was crumbling and falling off of the house. The main support posts were rotten and the deck needed a full rebuild. We first met with 3 or 4 contractors, including HKF, and were very surprised at the range in costs for the project. HKF quoted us around 1/3 of the cost of the next lowest quote and this work included extending the deck nearly 6’ further than where the original footprint was, meaning we ended up with almost 2x the size of our deck for less than what other contractors were quoting us to just simply rebuild it in place.

Throughout the entire process, from planning and evaluating different options, designing the new deck, and the actual execution of the project HKF was communicative, straightforward, honest, and effective. There were some minor delays during our construction but these were largely due to materials sourcing, supply chain limitations, and scheduling of the building inspector.

We are so thrilled with the final product and have been enjoying our outdoor space to the fullest. The deck is beautiful and spacious, and HKF really made sure the finished product was complete and polished. I would 100% go with HKF for this project again, I feel confident that I made the right decision and am so happy with how it turned out. I can’t wait to spend more time out there!

I worked with Hayce and her crew on another home improvement project. I want to update my below review to again say that they were incredible from start to finish! We asked Hayce if she could help us build a small front porch to attach to our enclosed front porch. As with any project, unexpected things happen. If something came up and we needed to change our plan or if there was a detail that I wanted to be adjusted, Hayce never hesitated to make us happy. For example, one of our new deck boards arrived with a small gash that was hard to notice. When the stair board had already been installed, I eventually noticed it and asked Hayce if they could replace the board. Without hesitation, Hayce said of course, and the next time they arrived to finish up the project, the floorboard was replaced no problem. Little things like this that make a huge difference. Hayce and her crew know how to build trust. I trust Hayce and her team with any project and will continue to ask HKF to improve our home. What I also love about working with Hayce is her accessibility. I never feel like I am bothering her when I message her and ask her questions. She always makes us feel like a priority (which is hard to do when you have so many clients). My porch project was a very positive experience. HKF does amazing work! And her prices are always fair. Working with Hayce and her crew has been a breath of fresh air. HKF Construction is by far the most professional, reliable, timely, and talented contractors in the Greater Boston area and beyond. When they say they are going to show up, they show up. When they say they are going to call, they call. If you have questions, they are reachable, and they answer your questions. Hayce goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy with the work, and she and her crew are very efficient. They finished our bathroom project faster than what they initially estimated, and I am so impressed by the quality of the work. Hayce really cares about customer opinion and making sure the job is done right and to customer satisfaction. There is no need to look further. I contracted HKF Construction to repair a wooden post that had rotted through on my deck. They replaced it and some damaged railings to the quoted cost within a few days of first contacting them and you can't tell that it's a replacement - they were even able to match the trim. Afterwards on one replaced wooden railing a small knot fell out and them came and fixed that right away without any questions or additional cost.

I asked them to come back to replace some damaged wooden shingles on the sidings on my house and that was also completed super quick and on quote.

I like their approach of picking up the necessary materials and having me pay the store directly over the phone as it meant there was no markup on the materials. Any bits they didn't use, they took back to the store and I got a refund on my credit card.

Hayce was friendly and good to communicate with. Overall I highly recommend them.

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with HKF Construction. We renovated the entire upper floor of our home (renovation in late winter-early spring 2023, home was built in 1886 and was practically a gut job), and the project remained on time and on budget. All the teams involved in the work were professional, personable, arrived when they said they would, and had prompt communication. Hayce listened to our lists of "must haves", helped optimize and make suggestions to our floor plan to make the best use of space, and considered the age and style of our home to ensure the renovation seamlessly fit in with the rest of the house. She cared for our home and project with an unparalleled attention to detail, making it feel like the project was her own home as well. Hayce and her team at HKF Construction did a beautiful job on building our new porch in Somerville! We needed a complete tear down of the existing triple decker and a rebuild of a brand new one. Hired HKF Construction to rebuild the front porch of a two family. The Owners and staff responded shortly after contacting them for a quote and quickly returned with a reasonable proposal. Their staff was courteous and very responsive to our questions. They cleaned up and kept the site clean daily and was respectable to the neighbors during construction. The Craftsmanship is excellent and worked with us to work through detailing requests. Work was done efficiently, but not rushed. Overall an excellent company and would recommend them highly.

We worked with Hayce and her team on multiple projects, and are thrilled with the results. Hayce was highly recommended by a friend, who loved working with her and told us HFK was extremely communicative, detail oriented, and efficient. We did a primary bath, bedroom, and remodel, as well as installed mini splits in part of the house. Hayce and her team completed the job on time and close to budget, and all costs and change orders were communicated in a timely manner. Hayce was very responsive and had her team follow up on our punch list, and made sure to address the details before closing out the job. We are thrilled with our new bathroom, including the custom cabinets, and the tile work is fantastic- the sub did a great job. The HVAC sub was also great, and worked hard to ensure that the interior lines and exterior venting were as inconspicuous as possible. We were also very impressed with the carpenter sub, who we also had repair our stairs while on the job. All in all, we’d definitely recommend HFK and will be calling Hayce for any future work.

Hayce and HKF Construction worked with us to demolish a partial wall in our master bedroom and split the existing room into two full bedrooms. We also had them patch up a closet in a separate area of the house, which was a much smaller job they completed alongside the main project. Previously, we also hired the team for some minor repairs on an outdoor deck.

Our experience working with HKF for the bedroom project was fantastic! The team worked tirelessly to finish the project efficiently, and Hayce made sure that we were completely satisfied with the end result. Hayce and the HKF team built an addition to the basement and first floor of our house, plus a new patio. Throughout the project, Hayce was communicative and always responded quickly if we had a question or concern. The crews that HKF used were always kind and courteous, and worked extremely hard. We are very impressed with the overall timeline and delighted that the project came in at the budget we expected. We’re especially pleased with the carpentry on the project, which was really carefully executed to match the older styles elsewhere in our home.

I had the pleasure of working with Hayce and HKF construction on a bathroom remodel. I had hired tile installers separately and needed a contractor to take care of all the finishing details (plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry). Hayce was amazing throughout the process. She conducted a site visit and provided an estimate within two days. Once the project started, she coordinated between my tile installer and her tradesmen to ensure that the work was completed on time and within budget. She even scheduled her guys to work evenings and weekends to meet my desired timeline. Hayce was courteous and responsive throughout the process and provided thoughtful input to solve unforeseen issues. I would highly recommend her for home renovation projects.
