I highly recommend Chris McCarthy and his Crew for reliable and high quality landscaping work. From start to finish my experiences have been excellent. Chris and his crew are professional, punctual and knowledgable about what they do. I will definitely continue to use them for future projects.

Chris and his team are the best. Highly recommend. Awesome people, competitive prices, and great work product. Hire them for your next project. I know I will!

Highly recommend! Chris and his team did an exceptional job transforming our outdoor space. Chris took the time to understand our vision and offered thoughtful hardscaping design recommendations that complemented our older home. The project included replacing railroad tie retaining walls with natural stone, relaying a blue stone patio, grading and seeding the backyard, installing a sunken blue stone front walkway, and adding a cobblestone apron and border to our driveway. His team was respectful and communicated well throughout the project. The final result exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely hire Chris again.

Excellent response time and quality of work

Great team, very responsive and consistently doing excellent work. Thank you!

We cannot say enough good things about C.J. McCarthy Landscape. Chris and every one of his crew are dedicated and skilled professionals, and we couldn't be happier with their work and the amazing results. We've worked with McCarthy on several projects at two houses and have been very pleased with the experience. The crew members are all super nice, they're punctual, they keep things tidy, and they clearly take pride in their work - and it shows. They even put up with our over-excited labradoodle who was constantly underfoot with smiles and impromptu games of fetch. :-) Whether you're looking for help with a small project or a major overhaul, you won't be disappointed with C.J. McCarthy Landscape.

C.J. McCarthy Landscape has completely transformed our yard in the best way! From their regular grass maintenance and yard clean ups, to building beautiful hardscapes, that include patio and firepit areas, to planting walls of privacy trees, we couldn't be happier with their work! Chris and his team of guys are reliable, knowledgable and easy to communicate with. Whenever we need something, Chris is here to walk the yard and talk to us about our ideas and give his advice. Couldn't recommend them enough! Thanks for all the hard work, guys!

We couldn’t be more thrilled with the incredible work Chris and his team at C.J. McCarthy did on our yard! Despite being in the middle of a busy season, Chris went above and beyond to squeeze us into his schedule. He was transparent about pricing, timelines, and every detail of the process, which we greatly appreciated.

Our yard went through a dramatic transformation: an unlevel front lawn that had been overtaken by grubs is now a lush, beautiful lawn. Chris and his team also removed an old brick walkway, replacing it with flagstone pavers and brand-new front steps. They cleared out many dead bushes, giving our yard a fresh and polished look.

The crew was incredibly professional, hardworking, and had an amazing eye for detail. Every step of the project was completed with precision and care. We couldn’t be happier with the results.

If you’re considering a yard transformation, we wholeheartedly recommend Chris at C.J. McCarthy based in Scituate, MA. You won’t be disappointed!

Responsive, meticulous, consistent, friendly...what else do you need? Chris and team are excellent.

C.J. McCarthy is fantastic! I’ve worked with them on a number of projects and in all cases, they have exceeded expectations. From the start, Chris and his team are highly responsive, provide clear and timely proposals, and accurate schedules. They go above and beyond when it comes to providing advice and paying attention to small details that make a big difference. While onsite, the McCarthy team is incredibly friendly, respectful, and they do top notch landscaping and hardscaping work. Chris is communicative throughout the project and flexible as changes come up - they are always looking to get to the best final result. At the end, invoicing is always clear and reasonable, with specific details on what materials were used / what changed / how the cost was calculated - there’s never a surprise. Everything they have done for us has been exactly what we were looking for and has always held up perfectly over time. I would highly recommend C.J. McCarthy for any outdoor project!

I have been delighted with the four projects Chris and his crew have worked on these past five years. From reseeding to clearing, designing, planting and mulching, to building a long winding walkway, each and every project has turned out beautifully! Chris is a true professional, smart, reliable and trustworthy. He is a perfectionist who stands behind his work. So, it's not surprising that a hardscape project #5 will be started in the near future.

Chris and his entire staff are a pleasure to work with. They do great work, are knowledgeable and responsive. I highly recommend this company!

CJ McCarthy's team work is definitely five stars. To complete our driveway and patio area, Chris brought unique design and engineering approaches intermixing cobble stones and natural stones while taking into account drainage and changes in elevations. We are so happy to have worked with him and his team. Professional to the core, no corners cut for the aspects of the project which are critical for drainage or hidden behind the final product and an amazing finished product better than we had expected. We are very happy to say the least. Thank you Chris and Team!

CJ and his team designed my side yard and driveway. It is gorgeous. Great choices and layout of plantings.

Chris helped me plow our driveway when another operator fell through. He didn't want any money when I offered. It was a great favor and I will definitely use their landscaping services when the snow melts. Thank you for the help, it means a lot 🙏

Chris and his team were fantastic to work with. We needed a lot of new hardscape at our old cape and they somehow found a way to make it all look as if it belonged and was always there, not new and out of place. Chris listened to us, would always pick up the phone when we called and got the project done in time and under budget. I couldn’t recommend them enough - honestly fantastic!

I've used C.J. McCarthy for many years and for several projects: building patio spaces (2) for my yard, blue stone front entryway, building a stone walkway from front yard to backyard, landscape maintenance. The work is always of very high quality, completed on-time and at the agreed price. Projects are well-built and durable with no problems after several years of use and of harsh weather conditions near the coast. And the regular yard maintenance (cutting, edging, mulching etc.) is always done neatly and with attention to detail. Finally, the working staff are always courteous and helpful and willing to "take the extra step" for customers. I sometimes ask the landscape crew, for example, for a bit of help in moving a large planter or outdoor furniture and they're always glad to help. Highly recommended.

McCarthy’s team is A+. We’ve used them since they took over and they’re always prompt, do quality work, and share good ideas when we’re thinking about projects. What I liked most was Chris being upfront — when something wasn’t their strong suit, he said so and pointed us to someone else instead of pretending.
