Why would you take down a tree in a residential neighborhood at 7 in the morning on Friday December 30th? I'm not even Christian and I have today off work. That tree was in the backyard of an apartment building in back bay. There are probably 50 apartments within 100ft of your chainsaw. 7 am, on Friday December 30th. What is wrong with you? Why would you do that? Just wait until 10, wait until 9! This was the one day I could have slept in for months. Why would a company schedule a chainsaw at 7 am on Friday December 30th in the backyard of an apartment building? Is profit the only thing you care about? There's no storm coming, the tree was not precarious, there was no reason this had to happen at 7 am on Friday December 30th.

Rob and crew were excellent when they worked on my property. very knowledgeable and professional.

I watched them as they took down a huge tree in a precarious spot...and did so with amazing ease. The crane they have is state of the art, the guy climbing and cutting was quick, careful and obviously highly skilled - and they communicated with headsets, so there was no chance for miscommunication, which can be extremely dangerous. I was very impressed!

Such a phenomenal company that you can always depend on for quality service. Sales reps are attentive and always responsive to them customer needs.

Chris and Dan came to my aid and rescued my indoor kitty who got out yesterday. She was way way up in a tree and there is no way she could have gotten down on her own. There was no room for her to turn around to come down. Chris climbed way up the tree and Dan drove the bucket truck and got my baby. It wasn't easy but they got her and brought her right into the house for me after a scuffle and she briefly got away again. They wouldn't take any money, not even for lunch! I just can't say enough about these guys and the lovely secretary who coordinated it all. Thank you so much.

I'm an arborist working in Brookline, Newton, and Wellesley. I've used Maltby to remove trees for the best of my clients for 15 years. For the most difficult work, in the most sensitive areas, I wouldn't dream of using anyone else. I'm always present while they do the work and I've never witnessed anything but the utmost professionalism and diligent compliance to safety standards.
Maltby practically invented the use of cranes for tree removal in the 1950's. The second and third generations, Brandon, Lauren, Bob, Bill and Bruce Maltby are owner/operators, doing it all, every day, answering questions, climbing trees, maintaining equipment, and managing compliance. Hats off to my friends from Stoughton who set the bar high everyday.

Used Maltby to remove a tree that fell on my house during a storm a few months back. It was a busy time for tree companies but they got right back to us and sent somebody out. The crew arrived a day or two later and removed 80% of the tree, leaving the main truck still leaning on my house, sating they needed to come back with a crane to remove the rest. After many calls to the company asking when they would be rrturning, all we git for an answer was that "we were on the list" finallt 3.5 weeks later they showed up unannounced to remive the remaining lumber except the stump even though it was already out of the ground. Thankfully somebody was home because they never notified us that they were coming. All in all they do good work but are seriously lacking in communication with customers.

Professional people who know their business. I’ve used Maltby for tree removal as well as tree care and I’ve always been very satisfied with their work. Not the cheapest but in my experience the best.

It's rare that you get phenomenal service as residential customer. This company was unequivocal regarding quality, professionalism, and service. They cleaned up so well no one believed they did tree work here! Highly recommended both commercially and residentially.

Ten services looked at my difficult 6-tree removal job in late 2019, before I called Maltby despite their distance from our home. They were my clear choice after a half-hour speaking with arborist Kevin, who is knowledgeble and professional. They have a huge crane. The on-site team (crane operator/mgr Doug, climber Ryan, Anthony and Hiram) arrived promptly after a long drive. The team and equipment are all first-rate. White oaks hit had abruptly died in the drought and were unstable for climbing, so we needed the nearly 160' crane which Doug managed like a magician. Ryan rode the payload to cut and tie tree sections, and watching him flown to the top of 250 year-old trees was impressive. Everyone was very responsive to our needs, quite safety conscious, neat, and worked surprisingly fast. Our neighbors were all impressed, too. Thank you!

I hired Matlby to remove a large white pine from my backyard and was really happy with their work. To find a reputable tree service company, I called the Dept. of Public Works for my town, the Massachusetts Arborist Association, and got recommendations from two different landscaping companies - Maltby came highly recommended. I also got multiple quotes and their price was competitive. And, Kevin Narbonne was a pleasure to work with - very professional and responsive, and he took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

What an incredible and easy experience. My husband and I were clearing a plot of land in order to build an ADU and I must say this company’s pricing is one of the best and by far the professionalism and customer service was impeccable! Our salesman Dan was such a pleasure to work with and his team GOT. iT. DONE! Not only we’re they fast efficient and meticulous, but I noticed one of them saving a nest of baby birds (all doing very well!) which I loved! Great company!
