They are a very professional construction company, that works efficiently, keeps a clean worksite and is respectful of the neighboring property. I highly recommend them.

Had a horrible experience with this team. They were recommended to me so I didn't do much research and that was my mistake.

In 2020 there was a weather event that resulted in some damage to my home. I contracted XL Construction in 2020 to repair the damages. They did a poor job here: while changing my part of the roof they made an executive decision to use a different color roof for the repair, the trims they installed were misaligned, they left gaps in the trim, and lastly, I had to call them back to fix the fence that was incorrectly installed.

After finishing the horrible job that they did they then independently reached out to my insurance without informing me in 2021 and opened up another claim. They then only informed me when the insurance made the check out to me. The additional claim has left a negative mark on my insurance history and makes it difficult to now get insurance for my new home.

Overall, this company is extremely untrustworthy, and sloppy in their approach and you should avoid them at all costs.

2025 Update: They also fixed my wall but left wires in the socket open. This later led to the electricals shorting in the house. I had to pay $1K+ for an electrician to fix the issues the mistakes they made. This was for the home on Rexford Street in Mattapan.

After a devastating fire in our Lexington home of 48 years, Bill and I began the long and emotional journey of rebuilding. It took nearly six months before contractors could even assess the damage, and we knew the process ahead would be challenging and uncertain. More than anything, we needed to find someone we could trust — someone who would treat our home with care and respect.
We met Jason Berroa of XL Construction through a referral from our public adjuster, and from the very first meeting, we knew he was different. Among the several fire restoration contractors we interviewed, Jason stood out immediately for his optimism, professionalism, and steady confidence. Every concern we voiced, he approached with creativity and reassurance — always asking, “How can we solve this?” rather than focusing on obstacles.
Throughout the rebuild, Jason proved himself to be an exceptional communicator and partner. He returned every call, text, and email promptly and treated us with genuine kindness. His positive energy carried through to everyone on his team — each person who came into our home was courteous, hardworking, and respectful. Jason’s bilingual communication also ensured that nothing was lost in translation, which made the process remarkably smooth.
Choosing XL Construction was the best decision we made. Our “new” home is absolutely beautiful — from the larger transformations, like our custom kitchen and bathrooms with imported tile, Tea-for-Two whirlpool, custom glass showers, and heated toilet seats, to the thoughtful touches like pocket doors, cedar closets, crown moldings, and a cozy little window seat. We now have a finished garage, which is a joy on snowy or rainy days, and a covered front porch that has become our favorite spot for morning coffee overlooking the garden. Jason even helped us future-proof our home with ADA-compliant doorways, zero thresholds, a 24/7 backup generator, and a heat-pump system that eliminated the need for fossil fuels.
Every detail reflects Jason’s commitment to quality and the craftsmanship of the XL Construction team. What began as one of the most difficult experiences of our lives ended as something truly beautiful. We are forever grateful to Jason and everyone at XL Construction for bringing our home and our hearts — back to life.
