I had McCarthy do a lot of work at my home, a new front walk, a block retaining wall, a new patio, and lots of plantings. Their crew was hard at work every day for about two weeks. The end result is more than I had hoped for, and I am very happy with the care and attention to detail show in all aspects of the work. I highly recommend them.

I want to start off by saying that the initial experience of meeting Roger was great. He was very friendly and offered great advice on how he thought we should take care of our lawn, so I'm a bit upset that I have to write this review.

It has been almost a full month since the initial visit from Roger and I have not heard a single word from anyone at McCarthy's despite leaving numerous voicemails, and follow-up emails. The original timeline that was told to me was that he would have a quote for us in a week. I thought it was a bit long for an estimate, but he was really nice and offered good advice, so I didn't have a problem.

Fast forward to today, nearly 4 weeks after, and they have yet to make any contact back. I understand this is probably a busy time for them, but I contacted a few other landscapers locally, and had quotes within 24 hours. I really wanted to like them because I see their work around our neighborhood, but the lack of responsiveness is incredibly unprofessional and ultimately a deal breaker.

I recently worked with McCarthy’s Landscaping and Irrigation, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Roger and his team brought my vision to life with a gorgeous walking path, a fully refreshed front lawn, and perfectly placed trees, shrubs, and flowers—dramatically boosting curb appeal. Visitors constantly comment on the transformation. To finish the look, we replaced failing hedges with a decorative fence installed by their contractor, Quality Fence, who also did an outstanding job. The space now feels fresh, polished, and easy to maintain.

I appreciated you taking the time to meet with me, and your written proposal.
Since you are a well established business, with many years of experience, I understood when you discussed cost and that this sort of thing is to be expected when taking on a total revamping of an entire property, that is severely overgrown. I appreciate your professionalism in this matter, (which we discussed upon meeting,) is more rare in this day and age.

Even though cost wise I decided to go with another landscaper, as I felt that he was the best candidate to fit my needs at the present time. I wanted to make sure that all your future customers knew about your professionalism, and although I have no personal knowledge of your work, it appears that you do a wonderful and thorough job, as evident of your other glowing reviews and pictures from satisfied customers.

I enjoyed meeting you, and your lightheartedness throughout this situation, along with your truthfulness.

Also, if anything should fall through, at least I'll know whom I can contact to help for future projects.

After an initial consult with an in depth analysis of the agricultural capabilities of our backyard, we had them build a garden fence to keep the groundhog out and replace a small broken fence facing the street. They also removed a bunch of junk the previous owners left us and cleaned the yard up a bit. All at half the price Lowe's wanted for just the small street fence! Excellent value, and the gardening advice was invaluable! If you need any help with your garden, I highly recommend contacting them to see how they can help. I'll probably send them over to do my mom's yard next.

I went to a vegetable garden planning class at BCAW and met Lucy, a permaculture designer at Reimagined Roots. She was so knowledgeable and helped me feel confident starting my first vegetable garden in Massachusetts!

From the beginning when he came to give an estimate and talk about options for our dead lawn space, to the process of installing our new patio, to the follow-up to make sure we were happy and see if we had any questions, Nate was wonderful to work with! He was prompt, conscientious, and professional and was extremely communicative during the process. Our patio is gorgeous and we get so many compliments on the transformation of the space. Interactions with the owner and crew members was excellent - always timely and congenial. Dave and Ben did most of the construction and they were exceptional. All was completed as contracted and for a fair price. We're very happy.

HomeHarvest created an amazing greenhouse for us. They did everything from the ground leveling to constructing the greenhouse. They even added landscaping details to the surrounding area to make it unique which was such a lovely surprise! They were fast but thorough which made me feel at ease. The crew was very nice and professional and worked so hard even while it was hot outside. My kids even asked them a million questions and our new puppy greeted them daily and they were thrilled to answer all the questions and give a loving pet. I would highly recommend this team for any landscaping projects you may have.

Nate and his crew are absolutely phenomenal. I started out with using Nate just for upkeep of my garden beds. His knowledge and how he talks about his craft are so beautiful and he cares so deeply for educating others in their yard and the impact it has on the ecosystem and their own life. That really stood out to me.

Our simple flower bed maintenance relationship eventually turned into talks about my whole backyard which I had been envisioning redoing since I bought my house 4+ years ago. We just finalized the design two days ago of my entire back and side yard that includes massive transformation into the outdoors oasis I've thought of myself having my whole life and I could not be more overjoyed, thrilled, or excited for him and his team to, quite literally, dig in and bring his 3D rendering to life before my eyes. The attention to detail and care that Nate gives at every step is unmatched and the level of organization he conducts his business with makes the business owner side of myself sing with joy and has made working with him easy and seamless.

I am so grateful I found Nate, even when I wasn't looking for anything regarding permaculture or edible plant scaping. My home, yard, and self are a happier place for it and will continue to be even more so as his work continues. Thank you Nate!

Homeharvest understood that I am not the typical landscaping customer, but one who is interested in restoring native species wherever possible. They designed a beautiful and practical layout, and then proceeded to plant and mulch perfectly, while amending the design to account for the removal of some trees I had done since the original design was completed.
