My AC was not cooling yesterday, it was over 80° and miserably humid in the house and I was being a crabby baby about it. After a few hours of failed YouTube research and standing in the yard in my pajamas with a flashlight like I know the first thing about HVAC units, I filled out a form (a cry for help, really) on Dependable's website.

Joshua texted me this morning and assured me he's had more desperate-sounding web forms. Maybe he was just being polite, but I'll take it. We had a quick chat about what was going on, and he and Jarek arrived a few hours later. On a Sunday! They were so friendly and professional, and solved the problem very quickly. They told me about routine maintenance I knew nothing about and had never done, and I'll absolutely be calling them to schedule that going forward.

They were super transparent about possible estimates and timelines depending on the cause of the issue. The pricing was straightforward and fair. Refrigerant is expensive right now, don't be mad. I would have paid anything for the relief this cold air has brought me. I just put on a light sweater. I'm going to sleep so well tonight. 10/10, wholeheartedly recommend.

Ryan and his team were fantastic from start to finish. Competitive pricing and meticulous, clean work. We needed to replace our ancient hvac system and our job turned out to be way more difficult and had several challenges thanks to negligent former owners and their “creative” maintenance solutions. Nonetheless, everyone on the team was professional and upbeat throughout, even though they were working through the hottest part of the summer in our attic! They went above and beyond to make sure that all was perfect and we are so happy with our new system. Thanks to Ryan, Anthony, John, and everyone else on the team who worked so hard. We appreciate you!

Ryan returned my call promptly and showed up to diagnose the problem the first day, unlike many of the other companies in the Braintree/Weymouth area who I called who never returned my call and we’re very unprofessional. Ryan was professional and courteous and did an amazing job. I highly recommend him.!

Quick, VERY responsive, and you can tell that the job is done with passion. Our furnace went downhill quick and it was very unexpected. Ryan and his team walked us through options and made a very stressful time much more bearable. We will use this company again and would recommend them to anyone.

Ryan was very professional, was right on time. Diagnosed and had the problem fixed on the same day. Came in under his estimate and warranted parts and labor for a year! He also told me he would be available 24/7 even holidays, just call! I would recommend dependable Air Solutions to everyone looking for an honest job done for a great price and warrantee! Thank Ryan!

Ryan came highly recommended, and we now know why. Very dependable, reliable and pricing was far cheaper than the other contractors. Ryan and his team are amazing and we now feel like it’s only appropriate to share the same recommendation we received.

I would definitely recommend this company without a single doubt in my mind.

This is the type of company you would want and trust to do work for your parents, or grandparents.

The professionalism and quality of work was above and beyond.

Thank you Ryan for taking the time to not only help me find, but price shop the furnace I needed. Also, helping me with the research on the pros and cons of all my different options, and helping me make a educated decision.

With that much effort on your behalf I could tell that you genuinely cared and your heart is in your service!

I want to thank the gentleman that was helping you through the installation as well!

    Thank you!

I have to say these guys are the best! Ryan and his guys are true professionals. I have a couple of rental units in the south shore. One of my heating units went down a couple of weeks ago. With it being 20 degrees out I was not only concerned about my tenants, but also about pipes freezing. Ryan and his guys were on site within a half hour and had me back up and running within 20 minutes. And it didn’t break the bank! Professional, dependable, fast, and affordable. I will be using them from here on out! I highly recommend this company.

I highly recommend Dependable Air Solutions!! It was the weekend and my heat wasnt working I called several different companies and left messages upon messages, and to no avail not one got back to me accept Ryan From Dependable Air Solutions! I explained what the problem was and he said that he could come by within the hour to look at it himself. 30 minutes later Ryan was at my door! He assessed the situation explained to me what it was, told me what he had to do, and how much it would be I said Ok you are hired!! Ryan said he would be back in the A.M. with the parts to fix it and he was.
I definitely highly recommend Dependable Air Solutions! Ryan and his crew were at my home bright and early on Sunday Morning they were very eager to get my heat working for me which they did. Ryan was very reasonable with the price, he could of charged extra where as it was a Sunday but he didnt! Thats why i definitely would call Ryan again if need be. I was so hot my air conditioning wasnt working so I hit them up and Ryan told me he was in NH, I told him how I was so hot without AC and could he come by on Monday and get my AC going and he came all the way down from New Hampshire on his day off to put some refrigerant on to get my AC working. I went to pay him because I was extremely happy because I am having a party tonight and already I was dreading it, and he said you dont have to pay me just make sure you and your friends have a good time at the party tonight. I cant believe there are still people like there out there. Totally saved my weekend.

Earlier this this month, I was in a major jam; my condo was ~30°, and my heater appeared to be broken. It was like living in an ice box!
I called Ryan Walsh at Dependable Air Solutions; Ryan and his team were at my house with-in an hour, and my heater was fixed in less than 20 minutes.
    His price was unbeatable!
Plus, his quote was a fraction of what I received from the big guys (HomeServe, etc.).
    Save money, source local contractors!
I highly recommend Ryan and his team!

Did a great job. Can’t give 5 stars because they charged $1100!!!! The last time I got this done it was $300 (discounted from $500 with a coupon). This time, I’ve been so sick I just scheduled someone without getting quotes in advance so that is MY bad. But I called two other business after to get a quote out of curiosity (just to hurt myself I guess lol) and they both came in under $800. Kicking myself cause now I’m wayyyyyyy over budget for the next two months, but live and learn! Like I said, tbey did great work! But it certainly certainly certainly was not worth $1100. Did I mention my house is less than 1000 square feet ?? That’s over $110 of vent cleaning per square foot of my house ! Ahhhh!!!

We are very disappointed with our experience with Dependable Air. Our attempts to discuss with Ryan have been left unanswered and he has disappeared on us.

Ryan did not understand the very basics of our split AC system but he blindly attempted to fix it, thereby causing damage and racking up a big bill, which we naively promptly Venmoed him (per his request because he "couldn’t accept credit card payments").

We ended things very amicably with Ryan (unaware how badly he misunderstood our system), promptly paid him, and are now quite disturbed that he won’t return our messages to discuss his work or stand behind it.

Ryan seemed like a nice guy and was initially very responsive, however he lacked the expertise to fix our 2018 split AC system in our condo. We understand that there is no guarantee that a “fix" will actually work but Ryan did not even understand the type of system we have and now will not return our calls.

Ryan thought our system was a “self contained unit” because he never found the evaporator. He explained to us that he assumed the refrigerant was low and that one of the fittings probably had a leak, but he did not want to fix the two fittings he found because he assumed there were other fittings he couldn’t get to that may be leaking. He suggested the fittings may be in the ceilings, in the walls, or in the “attic” — our condo unit has other units above it so this didn't make sense. We have since learned that there are only 4 fittings on a split system, all of which are easily accessible (the remaining two fittings were with the evaporator which, again, Ryan never found in our 900 sq ft condo).

Ryan saw we had a Nest thermostat and passed the buck, suggesting we bring in his electrician to rewire the Nest. There was no problem with the Nest wiring. Ryan told us that a reversing valve wasn’t working when our Nest switched modes from heat to cool — he even pointed to a particular pipe that he decided should go from hot to cold — however our system doesn't have a reversing valve — that would only be applicable to a heat pump, which we don’t have.

He advised us not to run the heat but when questioned on it, he couldn’t explain why. At my wits end I contacted the builder of the condo building to ask if it was safe to run the heat. The builder explained to me that the heat and hot water work together and are completely separate from the AC. The two systems work entirely independently. The builder could not understand why anyone working on the AC would advise us not to run heat.

Ryan was willing to add refrigerant to the system, although he doesn’t know how much he added. Since he didn’t know where the evaporator was he couldn’t watch the delta-T (drop in temp as air crosses evaporator) and he blindly added refrigerant, which overcharged the system thereby overworking the compressor. At several points while he was adding refrigerant huge black clouds of smoke appeared and floated off into the sky. Ryan seemed very stressed after this.

Feeling like things had not been fixed, we brought in another HVAC company for a second opinion and had a vastly different experience — the other company understood the system and could explain it to us, inspired confidence, found that a piston was missing (said they had seen it dozens of times), and determined there was no leak at any of the 4 fittings. The other company quickly got the system to the right pressures, had bluetooth temp sensors on the inlet air and outlet air (again, Ryan never found the evaporator so he couldn’t do this) and adjusted pressures while watching the system respond — none of which Ryan did. The other HVAC company said that the system had been significantly overcharged by Ryan thereby overworking the compressor.

While we were initially very appreciative of Ryan’s responsiveness and immediate availability, he has since disappeared and will not return our messages to discuss. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to discuss what went wrong with Ryan and we have asked him to refund our payment, to which we have received no response.

I was initially happy with Ryan’s responsiveness and communication when he installed a new hvac unit at my condo last summer. Since then I’ve had multiple issues with the heat/ac not adequately heating/cooling the house. The past month the ac has not been working properly, the house was not even cooling down more than 1 degree at times. Ryan refused to come out and look into it. He kept blaming the heat wave and the ductwork in my condo. Eventually he stopped responding at all, and I had to reach out to a different company. The other company came out and quickly identified a leak that was due to improper installation. I now have to pay hundreds of dollars to fix an issue that should be fixed at no charge by Ryan. Ryan was quick to respond when he was making thousands of dollars off of me, but less than a year later he left me high and dry. Would not recommend this company.
