Janitorial reviews in Grand Rapids, Michigan
-
Low pay. No mileage. They don't return communications timely. Work their people into the ground
-
Probably one off the most rude and terrible people I've ever work with don't even care if they work with you and like to rob people on taxes 🙄 highly don't recommend these people
-

We have this company in our school system for janitorial and they just can NOT seem to keep help. Alot of the people that work for them are terrible. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

GRBS is a great company that cares deeply about their employees and customers alike! They have a very professional staff that is well trained and takes pride in the work they do. I would highly recommend their cleaning services!
-
It's a great cleaning company. The staff is so nice hard working and honest here. If every need cleaning services I will call them. I cannot wait to start working here. I am so excited.

Good place to grow a career and learn the skills to handle any emergency thrown at you. The family environment was great and they people there make it fun. It is a lot of hours but worth it in the end.

When I started it was great; had a Supervisor that defended her team and worked just as hard with you( Leah Mroz). She had no patience for drama or toxic people. Then things went down hill when they replaced her with a supervisor from a failed account and within 6 months it became a hostile environment with plenty of drama and low morale. A lot of the cleaners I worked with did sub-Parr work and often and could not be counted on to do quality work. They will use you up to a point of not caring anymore, especially with a very lazy Supervisor, which her building barely met standards. Avoid this place .

Don't know how to treat their employees! If your hard working it doesn't matter to them, they just want anybody in their buildings cleaning And not checking on them like the managers should. As long has they have someone at this businesses and establishment's cleaning their content. Not working with ppl just telling them what they have available. People are not available 24/7 Pretty much telling you this is here.. live it or take it. And they wonder why their turn over rate is bad. Don't return phone calls or voicemails. It's sad very disappointed never in my life have I met people who are unorganized and all over the place. SMH

Notice how the only good reviews are from “people that work for the company “ and are still currently working for this company! There is not 1 CUSTOMER review from what I’ve seen…. There’s a reason for that! The only thing that GRBS cares about is keeping their employees and their contracted customers from seeing what is actually happening around them! And that is…. Absolutely nothing! GRBS has more than made it clear about their intentions towards their own employees (with the most horrifying turnover rate i have ever seen!) keeping their pay scale at the very bottom and their intentions of fulfilling their contracts not to mention doing the right thing (and what they said they would do!)for their customers and for OUR CHILDREN! GRBS you should be absolutely ashamed for not only putting us and our children’s health at risk but you do it to your own employees!!! As long as there’s companies such as this 1 still in business none of us are safe! Especially not our children!

Very unprofessional..I highly recommend people of color not to invest their time or effort I was discriminated against.❌🚩I worked at the heartland Consolidated school district, i seriously was only their for a week and 2 days literally long story short one of the account mangers sent me home because she thought I left the school for four hours now mine u there are cameras all around the school, which I clearly told her to check the cameras I haven’t left since I clocked in that morning which I arrived 10 minutes before my shift even started .. a whole week went by and I still didn’t receive my clock in number or my key fob to enter the schools .When I finally did receive my clock in number it was completely invalid .It was a previous employees clock in number that was sent to me by the manger of the district. It’s not until I called HR is when I found that out .Got hired to clean/maintain the middle school but was trained in a completely different building they had me going from school to school just for training which I didn’t sign up for the floater position …below I will list supporting documents

This company cleans for our school system here in Byron center, truthfully I’m not entirely sure why or how they’re even still holding a contract. They don’t seem to be able to keep help, very high turnover. Their employees come in stinking of cigarettes and spend most their shift hiding in the janitorial closets. It’s a shame not much seems to be done to resolve these issues.

The area managers just sit around and act like god. Suprised they still have a business to run

Your Way Cleaning does an amazing job. Super friendly team, always on time, and they really leave everything spotless. You can tell they care about doing things right. Totally recommend them if you need a cleaning service you can count on!
-
Hired Your Way Cleaning twice once after renovation and again before a client visit. Both times, the crew was on time, worked quickly, and left the space spotless.
Responsive with last-minute scheduling, great team! -
We partnered with Your Way Cleaning for over ten years, and for a large portion of that time, we were grateful for the consistency and professionalism of their service. Unfortunately, the past two years saw a noticeable decline in quality and communication that ultimately led us to seek out a new provider.
Despite our best efforts to work through the concerns the past 6 months—many of which took place in conversations, & post-it notes—the issues continued to escalate. There were recurring problems with basic duties not being fulfilled, such as empty paper towel dispensers even right after cleanings, neglected corners, and high-touch surfaces like door handles and toilet areas that were never cleaned. I eventually had to clean these areas myself, keeping a log to track what was being missed.
The communication breakdown only deepened. I had been working directly with one of their managers at her request. I assumed this was a mutually agreed structure, but it later became clear this wasn’t communicated internally. The resulting confusion solidified our decision to move on. Had the owner asked me for clarification at any point after that miscommunication, I would’ve happily provided context.
It’s also worth noting that previous staff were hesitant to report cleaning issues because they were under the impression the company refused to expand duties, even when clearly within the contract. This created a culture of silence that we worked to correct. When I took over, I made a good faith effort to address these issues gradually. We were never approached with any proposals to amend the contract or service scope, which could have helped.
As for additional “extra” cleaning requests: we only asked twice in several months for minor spot-vacuuming where contractors had worked—requests that took less than a minute each. We were never informed this was seen as excessive or problematic.
Ultimately, we’ve transitioned to a new provider who has already shown greater consistency and professionalism, offering cleanings twice a week without the need for micromanagement. Several companies we interviewed said our cleaning needs were actually quite simple compared to the time commitment previously reported.
As of now, we are still awaiting clarification on the prorated amount for April since they were only completing 1/3 of the agreed upon duties after month of coaching and grace, and the return of two missing key fobs.
We genuinely wish the Your Way Cleaning team well, but our experience over the last two years does not reflect the level of service or transparency expected in a long-term professional relationship. -
We started using Your Way Cleaning about a year ago after issues with our last cleaning company and it’s been a great decision. Communication is easy, scheduling is flexible, and they always leave the place spotless.
We recently had a minor mishap from one of our employees, and the YWC team handled it professionally and without complaint. I came to write a review since that kind of service matters and to say we’re sticking with them. -
I spent several months in Grand Rapids last year for work, and during that time, we hired Your Way Cleaning to take care of the office I was managing. They were super reliable, easy to work with, and always did a great job.
Quinton was very professional and responsive whenever we needed to adjust something. Honestly, they made my time there way smoother.
Highly recommend them if you’re in the area — they really take their work seriously.
