I have been very impressed with Hutchison Mechanical for all my HVAC needs. Unfortunately, my furnace wasn’t working last night when I got home from New Year’s Eve. I called them this morning on the holiday and they sent Cliff who was promptly here within in half hour. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and quickly diagnosed the problem within a matter of minutes. He showed me exactly where the problem was. He replaced the igniter and the blower draft inducer motor. I have noticed the past few weeks that I could hear a wining noise when the heat kicked on. That isn’t what caused the igniter to go, but he said it would soon need to be replaced and he even had to manually spin it to get it moving. I didn’t want to have to have that work done at a later date, so he took care of both of them quickly and with skill. The truck he used was fully stocked with everything he needed to complete the job. It is now working great and quiet as ever. Glad to not be freezing any more! It was a little pricey, but considering it was the holiday I expected it to be a bit more. It’s almost always true, but you get what you pay for. I’d rather pay a little more and have the job done correctly by professionals than to trust some rinky-dink company that uses inferior parts and they don’t know what they’re doing. They are a great company and Cliff is amazing, a definite asset to Hutchison to have working for them. Highly recommend. If you want the best, give them a call. They haven’t failed me yet and they are very quick to fix your problem.

The owner came out to our home, and he was incredibly humble and kind! And the guys who came to install not only our furnace and ac, but my Moms ac were super knowledgeable and friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Hutchison were the contractors that installed the hvac for the new construction of my house.

I've had a few issues that they had to come out and help with. I can say EVERY employee i've ever dealt with from the person answering the phone, to the serviceman, they all are very friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help however they can.

100% recommend their services for anything you need.

The only reason this is 2 stars and not 1 is because they did fix our A/C unit very quickly (same day). The low rating is because there was no mention of cost until all work was completed and for poor customer service. Hutchison installed our unit and it was about 3 summers old. Before doing any work, the tech said "they probably didn't charge it fully after install" - thus admitting it was their fault. After evaluating, he confirmed it was low on Puron. While they did not charge for the Puron itself, they did charge a $80 evaluation charge, plus 1/2 hour of service work, plus a new (very overpriced) filter. I was not asked if I wanted the new filter and actually had a new one sitting right next to the furnace (and the one in there was not dirty, but they took it with them so I can't prove that). Upon inquiring with the office about the charges, they said they would look into it and get back to me - and they did not.

Sometimes it's not the work you do, but how you treat your customers that is more important. Thanks for getting our A/C back up and properly cooling our home, but your lack of good, honest and up-front communication and customer service will prevent us from ever calling you back. There are a ton of other better choices and these A/C units are all made by just a couple manufacturers with different brands on them, so even if a company doesn't have a logo on their website, they can likely still help.

EDIT BASED ON RESPONSE from Hutchison:
1. I'm sure it is policy to tell all customers about the $79 fee. I'm simply stating that in our particular case, we were not told. I assumed there would be a visit charge, but also assumed that would roll into the repair, especially since your tech admitted this was caused by your original techs not fully charging our system.

2. My wife was never given the opportunity to refuse the filter. She was told after the fact "I went ahead and replaced your filter for you.". This occurred as the tech was showing her the bill. Was she supposed to tell him to remove it and put the old one back in? That's ridiculous.

3. The filter on this unit is supposed to last 6+ months. The one that you claim was causing the issue was in there 3 months. We don't live on a dirt road or leave our windows open or have a dirty home, so I'm not sure how this thing was so dirty that quickly that it caused our condenser to completely freeze over.

To top it off, your comment below is the same as the one you gave me on the phone (after I had to call you back) - if I have an issue I have to call you or Larry. That is not customer service. If you have an issue with how this repair was handled, you or Larry should care enough to call me. Be proactive next time, it will quickly diffuse any upset customer and turn them into a repeat customer. This is not a financial issue. I am not going to waste my time chasing down your management for $100. These reviews are to let you and others know about our experience. My words are direct quotes from your staff or truths about what happened. When you reply with contradictions instead of simply admitting your staff could have handled it better, you are supporting my (just one, just me) recommendation to try another service.

The woman that I spoke to on the phone was very polite.The tech (Cliff) showed up during the 4 hour window that was provided to me. Cliff was very knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problem within minutes of arriving. He never tried to sell me something I didn't need. He also gave me some tips for proper maintenance to help get the most of of my air conditioner. Overall great experience. Would recommend!!

Love Hutchinson. They will come out and quote you, but will be very Honest and only sell you what you need! They dont try to rip you off. I requested a quote for a new A/C, they came out within an hour to look at it. To my surprise, I was expecting a huge bill, but instead they suggested a cheap maintenance visit instead! They are very honest, and always do good work! They wont sell you what you don't need. Our builder tried to rip us off snd put in a ytiny AC unit about 10 years ago, but luckily Hutchinson pushed back and made them install the proper unit for out house! They told them they wouldn't do the job unless it was done right! Thank you Hutchinson! They installed our furnace / AC, and humidifier. If you are looking for a legit Heating & Cooling. This is the place to go! They are extremely knowledgeable and always do the job right!!! In parallel, the other company came put that also has a fruit market and quoted us reficulous amounts of money. Two completely different paths, one that was around $7k vs $99. The choice is yours. Hk with the fruit guysxand throw ur money away, or go with an honest company that won't rip you off!!!!!

We've been using Hutchison Mechanical since 2012. They've replaced our AC unit and our furnace. We could not be happier with their service! We've also used them for general maintenance on our furnace and AC unit at our new house! We've had great interactions with everyone from the office staff to the field mechanics. I'd like to point out that we've interacted with Cliff on multiple occasions, he is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

We had a furnace replacement done a couple days ago and couldn't be happier. The technicians arrived when they said they would and went right about their business. When they left you couldn't even tell they were there. They were respectful of us and our property. They took the time to set up and walk us through the new wi-fi t- stat. As a retired tradesman I was impressed with the quality of work. We did have one hiccup that showed up the next morning. I called and Cliff was there within an hour. All good now. I would highly recommend!!

I had Hutchison Mechanical come out to do fall maintenance on my HVAC system. They are a great company to work with and scheduling. My tech was Sam. He was knowledgeable, punctual and friendly! I am glad I have found a reliable honest company to work with in the future. Very Very Pleased!

We called Monday to explain we were having problems with either our thermostat or air conditioning. They came out within a couple of hours and replaced the thermostat and also waited to see how it was working. The 2 technicians did a great job and we appreciate the quick service. Hutchinson Mechanical is Awesome, dependable and provides excellent Customer Service.

I recently had a new Bryant furnace and A/C installed by Star Heating and Cooling, but unfortunately, the system never worked properly. After multiple failed attempts by Star to fix the issue, I decided to reach out to Hutchison for help. I was pleasantly surprised when Cliff from Hutchison came out on the same day. He spent 45 minutes troubleshooting and fixing the problem, and he even took the time to educate me on how to use all the features and settings of the system. Since then, the system has been working flawlessly. I am extremely satisfied with the great job done by Hutchison, and I want to express my gratitude.

I live in a new build condo and have had a few different issue with the builder, but if I’ve called Hutchinson they are ALWAYS prompt, polite and great at correcting any issues. Cliff is a great technician and very helpful in explaining things. In my opinion he goes above and beyond . Great people.

A couple of years ago , Hutchison installed a new furnace and hot water heater. We have been pleased with the installation they did and its performance. Recently I contracted to have my furnace serviced annually. The technician Jeremiah did a good job and provided an overview of the work being informed.

I would like to say that this company will give you a quote, do the job and then if you use a credit card they will charge you an extra 3%. At no point during the quote process or dealing with the sales team was this mentioned. I also inquired about payment options and was told a check is fine or a credit card. The sales person said if you use a credit card it is a little more difficult because they have to call it in. At no point did anyone mention the extra 3%. Just keep this in mind when getting quotes from other companies that you factor in the extra $100 - $300.

Response for Hutchinson Mechanical: I specifically asked if the quote was the price and they said yes. I asked, can this change for any reason and they said no. So I feel a refund should be given. I also asked if I could use a credit card and they said yes. At this time, any competent employee/owner would say, hey if they use a credit card the price will increase by 3%. This just shows along with other posts that I have seen that your company has a record of doing shady things. Homeowners get quotes for a reason and that is so they know what to expect at the time of installation. It isn't, hey, we gave you a quote but that quote is meaningless. A quote is a quote. You should always be up front with your customers which your company obviously lacks. I won't be using your company again unless its for warranty.

There are not enough words to express my heartfelt gratitude to this company! We have not had any air conditioning for the last few days in this 90+ degree weather and I think it was 88 degrees in my house during the day. I called Hutchison Mechanical and the owner, Edward Verhaeghe, came right out the same day, quoted me a GREAT price, then Larry and his crew were out the very next day and quickly and efficiently installed a brand new Bryant Air Conditioner and within a few hours it was a wonderful, cool 72 degrees in my house. I can't thank them enough for everything! If I could I would give them 10 stars. If you are ever in need of anything dealing with heating or cooling, PLEASE call Hutchison!!!
