I got great service there. The lady who helped me was very nice. She was able to find (in stock) 2 shower faucets i needed. She gave me good options and was very friendly.

The guy with the long beard was rude to the old man who was only trying to be courteous. Then he was rude to me. Then he was helping this woman who didnt understand.
The only thing that helped was I had a different salesperson. He was nice a helpful.

Place is cool.. its near my home, but not to friendly. Not one hello nothing.. just telling me where not to go and go back in the spot until someone help me.. well he did say please.. other then that the 5 sec I was in there they couldn't help

I have used this company three times. Each time for basement flooding and snaking drains. They claim to not have the correct size or that our pipes were too small every time. After the last time my basement flooded again and we called someone else- they were able to snake no problem and inspected our lines which appeared to not have been done at all. DONT USE UNIVERSAL.

My family has been customers for decades. Recently had to replace the cartridge in a Grohe kitchen faucet, Eric could not have been more helpful and patient. This company is the absolute best!

Excellent store! I've bought parts for ancient 50s faucets, and I've bought a new high end vanity and mirror. Ask them any question about repairs and they have the answer.

The store manager (Eric) is one of the rudest people I have ever seen. How he treats his own employees is beyond me. I believe the only way he is able to display this type of behavior in front of customers is because he is allowed too. It disturbed me so much how he embarrassed a young man that I just had to say something to him. And wouldn't you know it, he got in my face and was very confrontational. I had to leave before we went to war. It then occurred to me that if he is like that to his own people, he probably is NOT very tolerant or understanding with customers. It's too bad, I will never go back there again.

Do NOT go here if you aren’t an expert or if you are a woman. I have never been so talked down to in my life. I had the most patronizing, condescending cashier who treated me like garbage. Was it because I’m new to fixing sinks? Is it because I’m a woman? I guess I’ll never know. I will NOT be going back here but I WILL keep doing my own plumbing and buying my parts elsewhere.

Not only does Universal carry more inventory than most, but when I was running late the owner waited for me past their 5:00 closing time! Jim turned out to be the owner and he was awesome.

Great customer service. I took pictures of the issue I was having and the gentlemen knew exactly what parts I need and told me how to install them. Very knowledgeable.

I don't remember who recommended Universal Plumbing supply to me, but I am forever grateful. They are knowledgeable and helpful beyond what is commonly found today and they've always had what I needed to fix my plumbing issues. Even with plumbing from the 40s and 60s. They are very nice and explain what's needed in a way I can easily understand. I always show up worried about whatever the plumbing problem was in my house, and I always leave feeling confident I have what it takes to fix it. They also have a lot of beautiful fixtures, sinks, tub's etc. If you're looking to redo a bathroom or repair your plumbing I recommend Universal Plumbing Supply.

Best plumbing supply in metro Detroit. I've been to around a dozen plumbing supply stores in metro Detroit and this is by far the best. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I brought in an adapter/diverter valve and they instantly knew that the brand (Elizabethan Classics) no longer existed. As it couldn't easily be replaced, they took it apart, replaced the gaskets and greased it and it honestly works better than it did when brand new. I will not go anywhere else for plumbing issues.

I had what seemed to be an impossible situation with our shower trim. Every plumbing supply store near my home pointed me to Universal Plumbing Supply for help (it says something when other businesses who could benefit from a sale recommend them!). I cannot explain what a blessing they have been! They have worked with me for weeks to make sure they could find escutcheons that worked for our trim and thus solved our problem. They were so patient and kind, and I was truly touched by their determination to make sure I was taken care of. Steve and Eric, you two are angels!

A plumber sent me here specifically to see if they could help me troubleshoot a broken stem on an outdoor hose bib. They took the time to piece together a custom piece because there wasn’t an exact replacement. Definitely worth the drive across town, only cost $8 and it saved me a lot of money in the end!

This place is awesome. First visit today and I didn’t get the guys name that helped us (long hair/beard), but he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Drilled out a part that we could no longer get and saved us a ton of time. Will recommend this place to everyone for plumbing supplies

Yes, they have pretty much anything you need. HOWEVER, the guy who waited on me today (dude with a long beard) was probably the most RUDE person I have ever dealt with in a store. This was over an hour ago and I'm STILL angry!!

Called the store three time around 8:00 a.m. on 07/07/2022. Someone picked up the phone then slammed it back down three times in a row. I called Delwood Plumbing Supply in Royal Oak and had a great experience with a courteous, professional employee who was very willing to help.
