Great customer service, from scheduling to the technicians. Everything was clearly communicated, professional and timely.

During a 95°+ heat wave in MI, our a/c stopped working, and our house was 86° inside. I called on Monday morning and Lake MI got us on the schedule that day! The two gentlemen showed up on time, were super professional, and got our unit up and running. I was impressed with their thorough explanation of the a/c issues and detailed quote. We signed up to be club members and look forward to working with Lake MI in the future. We highly recommend Lake MI Heating and Cooling!

❌ Extremely Disappointed — Feels Like a Scam

Last year, I trusted Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing to replace my entire A/C unit. It cost me nearly $10,000. I was told I’d be getting a reliable system with a 10-year warranty.

Just one year later, the system stopped cooling. I called them out to inspect it, and to my shock, they quoted $3,800 to fix it. Their diagnosis? A Freon leak from a joint — which means they didn’t install it properly in the first place. This isn’t wear and tear — this is a bad installation.

I called a second, independent HVAC company for a second opinion. They found the leak, fixed it, refilled the Freon, and the system is now working perfectly — and the total cost? Just $400.

Let’s break this down:
• My 18-year-old unit worked fine until they convinced me to replace it.
• They installed a new unit for $10,000.
• It failed in just 1 year.
• They refused to honor the so-called 10-year warranty.
• Tried to charge me $3,800 for their own mistake.

This experience makes me feel taken advantage of. It’s disappointing, unprofessional, and unethical. I do not recommend Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing to anyone. There are far more honest and competent HVAC companies out there. Stay away!

I had a great experience with Daniel and his team. Our visit was originally intended to discuss improving and updating my furnace, my cooling, and hot water system to make it more modern. The same day of their visit my current furnace was acting up. He, and his team immediately went to work on resolving and fixing my issue. Very courteous, respectful, and professional. I look forward to doing work with them in the future.

Called Lake Michigan Heating to assist with a business issue; customer had a broken drain line and blamed my field team for breaking it. Lake Michigan Heating worked with me to get the broken line fixed for the customer. Colton was the responding tech and was very professional and did a great job on the installation, saving my company money and making the customer happy.
I also had Lake Michigan Heating out to my personal home for an AC unit quote, and the tech gave us great recommendations based on our home and didn't just try to sell us the top price appliances. He even looked at other systems such as our furnace and gave some options and recommendations for that.
Overall experience was very positive, and will definitely work with Lake Michigan Heating for future issues at home and for work!

purchased a premium on-demand water heater from Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing in March 2023. Unfortunately, my experience since then has been disappointing. I called recently about a specific error code, and the technician who came out told me the unit should have been installed with a dedicated power source, which wasn’t mentioned during the original installation.

He also stated that the issue was with the control board, and then presented me with a nearly $700 bill for the repair. On top of that, no one ever explained the need for a yearly service plan or maintenance when the unit was installed. Had I known, I would have signed up for the plan at the time.

I’ve had better experiences in the past, but my recent interaction with Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing has left me frustrated. I hope they improve communication and provide more transparent service going forward.

Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling, Plumbing was able to set up an appointment with me fast and get someone out to inspect my AC. Adam was great at explaining what exactly was wrong with my current AC in a way that I understood and what steps would need to be taken to fix or replace it and walked me through the cost breakdown of each route. I ultimately chose to replace my AC and they were able to come out in 2 days to replace it! They were on time and got my new AC up and running!! They are efficient and knowledgeable.

Over charged would not recommend this company Never found the problem as well called service professor and it took him 5 minutes to tell me my motor went out and Lake Michigan 300 for him not to know anything And still had a balance over 2000$ would not recommend to any one

It is unfortunate that it turned out that the technicians who came were more like sales persons rather than a skilled professional. They definitely did not have the right tool or set of skills to do one single rusted pipe removal. Two guys came to repair water heater and ended up cutting connecting pipe, “attempted” to remove the rusted pipe. Shared a lot of sales pitch about replacement. Will not use their service for plumbing again and do not recommend. I usually don’t share bad reviews but I hope this reaches concerned customers and help them decide wisely.

I called LMHCP to replace a leaking pipe under my kitchen sink and was able to get someone out next day! Elli was fast and friendly. Replaced all the pipes under my sink for an affordable rate. Highly recommend!

Daniel and his project partner (he didnt have a name on his shirt...) were professional and knew what they were doing. They were well presented and wore booties in our gouse, which I appreciated. They explained things in detail and didn't borrow trouble when there wasnt any. They provided options as well and explained the up and down sides to their suggestions. Their office team and scheduling, as well as communication the day of, was also very customer centric. They offer a membership discount, which could be nice for some, but not where we are in the cycle of our mechanical systems. We will definitely be going back to them for our maintenance.

The team was courteous, honest, and gave me info I needed to make proper decisions. Most importantly, they fixed our plugged main drain, And showed me why and where it happened.

I can’t say enough about my experience with Lake Michigan Plumbing. We were having an issue with our hot water heater. When I reached out to them to discuss the issue it was already Friday afternoon. The person who took my call was extremely nice and professional. To my surprise they had someone at my house within 30 minutes to diagnose the problem. It turned out that we needed a new unit. Again I was shocked when they were able to immediately do the install. They worked until nearly 7pm on a Friday night to complete the work. Our Technician was very knowledgeable and efficient. I truly feel that the level of service we received from start to finish is not common these days. We will definitely be using them for any future needs.

Great professionals. Daniel was great on Thanksgiving when I had no hot water. Then again less than a week later when my heat went out. Daniel was back again fixing that. True professional.

Highly regret using them to put in a new boiler that they recommended a few years ago. I have problems every year and have spent thousands keeping it working. Technicians are great but ownership lacks responsibility for faulty systems and incorrect installations. Sadly, at the same time I did our home, I also put a new boiler system in at my rental property and have had many of the same issues. At one point we started having issues with snow clogging the air intake that they recommended being installed on the outside of the house and it was taxing the system. Come to find out, it was installed incorrectly and they had to come fix it after it already took a toll on the boiler system which I'm sure has led to more issues.
I do not recommend their services. Their technicians are very friendly but products are a money pit.

My 15 yr old water heater needed to be replaced. I had previously used LMHCP for furnace and water heater issues. Calling near the end of the day Mon, I easily scheduled a service call for the next day.. Daniel and Ryan were on time, friendly and professional. Daniel explained replacement options and costs. They were able to install a new hot water heater that same afternoon. I am very pleased with the quality of their service, and recommend this company! I will use them again.
